Thank you! It's actually not that bad at all. Most of the work is in the prep and cleaning. The better you clean the surface of old waxes and oils the better the product will stick and the longer it will last. Good luck!!
Looks fantastic! I'm a local Austin boater as well. Im really interested in going with Aqua Marine Deck for my flooring. Do you mind if I ask about what this cost? I have no idea what ballpark to expect from them in particular. Thanks in advance!
Great to meet you fellow Texan!! :-) I'm not sure if their prices are still the same. Also keep in mind that it will vary based on what size boat you have, and how much flooring there is. Some people just order the the flooring for the swim platform area. I ordered the flooring to cover our cabin flooring, the anchor locker lid, the OEM swim platform area, and also our extended swim platform area. Our boat is a Cobalt 292 (about 30ft length give or take). Our cost with all of it including shipping was around $2000. Without the extended swim platform or anchor locker it would have been about $1650. This was about 2 years ago. Ashley at Aqua Marine deck was the one who helped me out, she was great to work with and very helpful.
Hello loved your video how hard was doing your template? Do they send it back before final to make sure everything is where you want it do you recall what you paid l just got a estimate from aqua track for 5000 seems kinda high
Glad the video was helpful. The process was pretty simple. They sent me the templates on clear plastic. I taped the plastic sections on each area of the boat and 95% of it was spot on. In a couple places where I wanted slight adjustments I drew on it with a sharpie and made notes. Then I sent the templates back to them and they sent me the final pieces all labeled for installation. I personally would rather do it myself so that I know the cleaning and prep is done right. The biggest reason these types of boat flooring fail is from lack of cleaning and prep work. Installation is very easy.
I don’t remember. But I think the design was the same price. Main difference in price was for which sections of the boat I wanted to cover. I added extra for the extended swim platform and bow anchor cover lid.
It has been fantastic. The fit and finish were great. The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to clean clean clean. Clean very thoroughly before installing the new flooring and make sure to take your time to line things up as best you can. Once you get it down on a nice clean surface it should last for years to come. We have had ours 2yrs now and it has been fantastic!
What color combination is this? I think this looks AMAZING! I ordered last week and just got my template back via email. I ordered Med grey/Black. Yours looks to be the same???
Congrats on getting your order started. Yes. That is the same color combo we got for ours. Medium gray over black. I think it looks great and modern. Our old boat we got brown over black and it looked good too. But I much prefer the medium gray over black that we have now.
