Every product should have a straight forward no bs video like this.
If I had to guess, Hydro-Turf has probably been around longer. But they stayed in the PWC market back in the 90s. But I could be wrong.

Looks great! How does it stand up to the most extreme temperatures? My boat stays covered, but summer temps in the 110+ most days concerns me.

*How hot does the Eva Foam get? Eva Foam available from us is UV Resistant and stays cool to the touch even on hot summer days. We have been on full black EVA Foam (HydroTurf) in the middle of the day in summer barefoot with no issues.

Yup it is great for keeping your feet cool.
I did seadek and Marine mat which is pretty much the same thing. I can tell you this , from a black foam to a white foam , the difference in surface temp can be as much as 20 degrees. However , if you go to a lighter color , stains will show up more versus darker tones. I tried to stay somewhat neutral , with light greys and light blues etc......Still hard to keep clean but on a kayak when you are overtop that surface all day and just a foot or two from it , it does make a huge difference.

I’m not incredibly far from the Pekin location. I have an Alweld that has almost been completed and can’t decide between carpet and this stuff… how is this on compartment lid noise? Will it be louder shutting lids than carpet would be?

How do EVA foams you showed, compare to the PE foam AquaTraction uses ? AquatTraction feels much tougher and actually warranties color and adhesion.

Have a 18.9 Xpress aluminum boat. It has a bed liner type stuff sprayed on the decks. I would imagine one would have to remove this coating before installing the EVA.

I’m replacing the carpet in my 2004 tracker PT175 with hydro turf, so what can I do about the gaps left between the lids and deck or box edges due to the old carpet having been rolled over the edge of the lids??? Can I coat exposed aluminum with a rubberized coating to deaden noise and cover exposed aluminum??? PLEASE, AND ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
We just paint any of the gaps and edges.

Not sure about rubber. we usually use regular paint.

No, I would pull the vinyl up first, paint the wood and put it over the wood.

Yes, I think it was primarilly meant for glass boats to begin with. It started out on jet skies. It will also go into cars.

burn the boat. Haha, most of the time we use an angle grinder with a sanding disk. Its messy, but gets the job done
I paid $68 a roll and got it cheaper when I bought 3 of them 94 by 39 were the size of the rolls black white and grey camo and the grey one with the black stripes

To be fully transparent, Seadeck and I assume others EVA foam decks, will deform and discolor in reflective sun light. I read the reviews after I made the mistake
It also matters how you store the boat. If you leave it outside without a cover, yeah, it probably will
As does everything......
So why invest in it when it doesn’t last? After it warps and fades you need to worry about how to get the old stuff off with the adhesive. Must be a headache!
@@2cthetruth Glued carpet is a pain to replace too.
The real solution is to use pure aluminum and have it polished to a high shine. That’ll last a while! Make sure it’s shiny like a mirror, itll tan you right up too.
I’m looking for a sheet of this to stick to the roof in my utv. Making a headliner for soundproofing. Would it stick to a plastic roof.
Yes it will stick to plastic. Just sand it real good first
Are there any tricks to getting turf to adhere to wood?
Seal the wood really well with Fiberglass resin, then sand smooth with 80 grit and it will stick great.

No we have not, and even if we did, you still need to get it scanned. No two boats are exactly the same. We have made that mistake before and nothing fit right from one boat to the next.

Have to remove all the carpet and carpet glue. You will have larger gaps between the deck and lids, unless you get new lids made

What’s the price difference of getting a custom measured kit and just sheets and cutting it yourself?
If you DIY the sheeting you will save money. If your paying someone to hand lay the sheets, routed/scanned will be same or cheaper

How does this hold up for salt water sailing?
I don't know why it wouldn't, I've seen it on salt water rigs before
@@TBNationOutdoors my question was HOW does it hold up to salt water sailing. Salt water is much more corrosive than fresh water. Breaking down the material and adhesive at a much faster rate. I’m wondering how long it would last in the ocean. A few years, a season, a few months, etc..

don't think i would rather clean my seadek on my duck boat with anything other then a pressure washer. teak layout foam is alittle sketchier but ive never messed my bass rig floor up using one.
not a full powered pressure washer, one of those cheap electric ones works good.

If you do happen to accidentally let blood sit on this shaving cream even the cheap stuff will make blood vanish and leave a cleaned spot where it used to be just a free tip

It’s nice for about 4-5 yrs then it starts to get destroyed. Carpet lasts much longer, I like EVA looks better and overall performs better just doesn’t last. Oh and it’s like 6x more $$

not hot. It does get warm. Much less warm than carpet in my opinion.
