Hopefully she was immediately taken into custody and transported to a hospital where she underwent a COMPLETE PHYSICAL! If it was self defense she should have had some cuts and bruises. You shouldn't be able to murder your spouse because they yelled at you...
Recently there are too many trials of spouses, parents, step parents, and even girlfriend deliberately killing spouse and/or children. Showing that you need to be very careful to who you date and marry.
One other fact to be noted is that this is not Ashley's first marriage. She accused her first husband of abuse and, surprise, there wasn't any evidence of that either. I believe that her mother, Alicia, was in on the whole scheme and should be on trial too. Who takes a 2 year old to a park after dark? Then Ashley was working on husband #3 while pretending to want to get back with Doug. I hope the judge throws the book at her and gives her the maximum sentence!!
I think she planned it from the get-go. I hope Doug gets the justice.

I wish older men would realize much younger beautiful women are often not truly interested in them. They often have alterior motives. This one has the eyes of a psychopath.

Shes been dx'd with NPD/bipolar and sociopath. Narcissists can't loose. She knew the results of her pysch evaluations would be read in court. The pysch evaluations were forced by FL Sheriff's Dept because she kept running to them saying Doug poisoned her tea. They made both Ashley and Doug get pysch evaluations. Doug's came back normal and Ashley's was hugely unstable. She knew she could loose custody...so she killed him.

I love how we know nothing about the case yet and this whole channel,chats, and comments deem everyone guilty at the beginning of every case, always before the trial even starts. Im sorry but what was her motive? I havent heard tbe details but it does not seem unreasonable and ive not heard any evidence that she wanted him dead or planned his murder. Surely she would be better off financially if he wad alive?
Her motive?...To keep Doug and the courts from reading/knowing about her psychological evaluation which she she was found to be unstable (which was ordered by FL Sheriff's Dept since she kept bring tea to them and saying it was poisoned by Doug) but Doug passed his pysch evaluations. If Doug was aware of her split personalityNPD/Bipolar then he could gain full custody of Emerson. Ashley is a narcissist and they hate to lose..therefore the reason for killing him. This way he would never gain full custody.
They were going through a child custody battle so he was kicking her to the curb...
We don't know anything about the husband. Let's just see how this plays out and we should all give the defendant the benefit of doubt to start with.

Those of us familiar with this case DO know about Doug Benefield and the circumstances behind this crime. This was calculated and planned. She is innocent until proven guilty by law, but she has no supporter in me. I've known women like this, and they're poison.
