Also just wanna shoutout how his wife let him stream as a fulltime job back then no matter how risky it was financially, I think she even pushed him to go for it because it was his love, most partners would hope their SO goes for the steady job.
All this talk about cheon makes me miss Gaby on stream, she seems to have dropped out of the public eye which I respect but I really enjoyed hanging out with her and seeing the weirdness of the blind drafts, any chance she would return for one of those at some point?

this is exactly the type of deck I love seeing still viable. Grew up playing black red back in the 90s as a casual pleeb, and so happy theyve kept up with the card quality to make it still viable
At 50:45, you could play Chandra, +1 for RR and use the 3rd Mana Vault mana for Cratermaker killing the 2/2.

I remember using it as a 'fair' draw spell in unpowered Suicide black. Replaying fetch, Dark Fit, Lotus Petal, Negagor + Bob is insane, if not as powerful as tutoring a Twin Piece
Any game where YawgWill shines in a non-storm deck is always a good time
I thinnnnk at 50:30 you could play Mountain, tap Mana Vault, play Chandra, +1 Chandra for RR, use the last Mana Vault mana + R for Cratermaker, use R to sac Cratermaker to kill Spellbook Vendor. I may have missed something, though.

Yeah, I was thinking the same while watching. I guess LSV didn't adjust to drawing the mountain, and was locked on the cycle troll plan, which in his defense is the sort of thing that's way more likely to happen when you're narrating your own match live.
Last game you can DT for a swamp, play soul cauldron. Then take a hit from the ashen rider,and with the grim monolith play Virtue - with it on the stack you cast Snuff Out on the Ashen Rider and hope its enough. Then you actually have a shot at winning assuming opponent doesnt do anything (which is already slim) but getting Sol Ring doesnt do anything at all.
Lsv has the best title game. Only second to his actual game
Totally random thought, but it'd be cool to see a Vintage Cube built for 6 player drafts. Take out some of the fringey combos and add in more generically strong cards.
It's pretty funny that the 1 point (potentially) mattered so much in M3G2. I had the same thought process though. "I'm not casting fire covenant to save 1 damage! That's ridiculous." It's such a high value card that having it be a three mana gain 1 feels insulting, but I guess sometimes a three mana gain 1 is what you need and it certainly doesn't do anything when you're at 1 life.
The reason to cast the Fire Covenant there is that it was going to go from a card that prevented 1 damage to a card would do literally nothing once the Carnosaur hit.
@@sjake8308 Oh I completely agree, I just think it's funny the way the human mind can work. My heuristic was to want to get more value than 1 life out of the card, which stopped me from processing the reality that I wasn't going to get more than 1 life out of it.
I suppose there are corner cases where you can use it as a card to discard or you gain enough life that it turns into a removal spell again, but those are small enough percentiles that I agree just taking the guaranteed 1 life is good (especially since 2 is a lot higher than 1 in this specific matchup with retrofitter and bowmasters).

Hey LSV! In my draft today, I opened P1P1 animate dead and flash as the most notable cards. I took animate dead and ended up in a good esper Lurrus companion deck.
P1P1 do you consider flash better, worse, or comprable to animate dead? I leaned animate dead cause its good on non-reanimator decks and flash is a bit narrower.

Was gonna say lsv got unlucky after 2 packs but yet again a sol ring. LSV opens power every draft!
I don't think he was unlucky, it's that the deck he was trying to draft happened to be heavily contested. If anyone was unlucky it was Updraft Elemental, who opened Entomb and was passed to by LSV for two packs (with a third player also trying to draft black).
at 55:00 you had lethal with yawg will, animate dead therecklesss stormseeker, give kiki reflection haste into make a 2nd inferno titan to attack for 18 (not that it matters lol)
Perhaps your cube needs more Planeswalker removal?
@51:00 Couldn't you have played mountain, chandra, +1 to make mana, and then cratermaker + activate to kill one of the creatures? i guess that meant you couldnt hymn the next turn, but could have kept the chandra

I think, in the second Sandydog game, it would have been best to play Chandra, floating 1, then add RR, then Cratermaker Spellbook Vendor.

Yes. If a spell with targets doesn't have any legal targets remaining on resolution, it fizzles completely.

Thanks for the content LSV!...game 2 vs Sandy on the Chandra turn, you drew a mountain so you could have gone Mountain, Chandra, add mana, play and use cratermaker.
