I imagine that killing the top at 1:19:20 was less about which artifact was the biggest threat, and more about not having to play against top being activated 8 times per turn, haha.
Did not expect to see oro be escaped and endurance shuffle your own deck in the same deck work so well
Upheaval is my favorite card in cube so this title alone makes me happy to see. Can't wait to watch this video even more than usual.
I actually finally bought an Upheaval not too long ago just to own one. Even after cracking all those Odyssey packs back in the day I never managed to pull one out of sheer luck. I stick it in one of my commander decks if I’m playing casual, otherwise it’s safely in a sleeve and remains one of my very favorite cards even after all these years.
I think TomM sided in Fastbond after losing to Upheaval game 1. Crazy smart.
High praise for sentinel of nameless city, I just picked one up for a highlander artifact deck - splashable 3/4 body for 3 that blocks, and poops out artifacts that can break board stalls...AND has two relevant creature types!

Sapphire is one of the few cards that doesn't combo with Urza. It just stays the same.

9:13 I was thinking Zirda might be an interesting pick here because most the permanents in his pool had an activated ability. Colors weren't right, but it was still midway into pack 2, so I think there was time to pick up white or red fixing.
Interesting idea but i think it’s hard with workshop having such high upside. and a lot of the cards zirda is best with (like untapping monolith) workshop is also good with, and it also lets you turbo out other things. that being said its definitely an interesting path and i think zirda is a bit undervalued generally

6:19 TIL Kinnan doesn't combo with Urza. Even though Urza taps an artifact for mana, Kinnan requires the tap symbol.

I like TKS, but given that it's only medium powerlevel you'd want to splash it only when it's free. I don't think the mana supports it even with Talismans. Would you consider filter lands over fast lands? They also help with casting certain BBB cards and you could include Archmage's Charm.
Ah, it's even mentioned a few minutes after writing this :). Cutting Ash Barrens for Gemstone Mine didn't help either.

Can you run a top cards in vintage cube session together with the sandiest of dogs?
Filter Lands instead of those slow lands? To enable TKS.
Random cards that might be worth trying: Fiery Temper, Eye of Ugin
I would prefer Painland over Filterland personally, although those plus Talismans kinda hurts.

On the topic of cards in the cube, I'd love to hear your thoughts on Jaheira, Friend of the Forest. I think it could be nice, but perhaps there's not enough green-adjecent token cards?

Is it just me or does it feel like every time LSV drafts the crazy like lotus timewalk mox absolutely perfect archetypical deck he goes 1-2 but every time he drafts a pile that makes you think “this may be the worst draft spot ever” or “how does this win a single game?” he goes 2-1 or even 3-0
Do any of the other people in these team cubes upload videos of the drafts? Could someone share the channels? It might also be nice to have them linked in the description of the video.
Cheon has started posting draft videos. I think LSV said in the past that Jenara does also, but I haven’t seen Jenara in these team drafts much recently.

I seem to remember he didn't like the card/loved the card, because of its annoying function. This was years ago but he didn't think it belonged. Magic and Cube has changed a lot, maybe he feels different.

Honestly, same. It's real easy to overlook the "and attacks" part of his ability. But Thought Scour was really putting in work to make Uro surprisingly consistent.

EDIT: the more I think about it the less I'm sure that's how it would work....now I want LSV to try it for science in addition to it being awesome if it works.

I'm a Christian and always struggled in the gaming world because people seem to think being foul is cool. You're a class act, LSV, thanks for what you do..
What about all the demons and "evil" stuff in MTG? Dosent that stuff kind of go against Christianity?
MTG is a game and like D&D, the demons and dragons etc are all in the Bible. Too many people think that Christians can't play games and have fun. The sad thing is the people who play MTG and stuff who are unbelievers that think it's somehow not for people who believe. I have been Discriminated against by many in the gaming community for being a Christian as if gaming itself belongs to those going to hell. There is so much ignorance in the world of fantasy. Being a disciple and crushing people at games or logic and skill is fun because so many don't get that believers are people who just chose the right path. ;) God bless the gamers who aren't rude and foul and aren't using a game to hide from God.
