I think there is a way:
- tap all your lands for 7 mana
- play Syr Ginger; clamp; boots; desk ( have 1 floating)
- play and tap academy for 7 more (up to 8)
- sac food and desk; equip Syr Ginger with both equipments (down to 3 mana)
- play RecSage to blow up 1 servo
Kappa is a 10/10, Syr Ginger is a 7/2 trample and they have to block tough cookie and trinket mage with the 2 remaining servo.
I just realized you could also equip the boots on the sage, since Syr Ginger already has haste, making this require less math if the mana checks out. If it doesn't, you can probably play hexdrinker and give it the boots.
Yeah, you'd want to give the rec sage haste here. Syr Ginger doesn't get the counter off the desk when you sacrifice it because it's unearthed, and never hits the graveyard. But the math still works out because of your extra attacker. Nice line!
Refresh gang we made it
And 7 hours later, I’m enjoying the video, too. What did you accomplish by that?
@@Bobal27 Let me be an addict
@@nickk6556 I won’t try to stop you ;p
at this point im just waiting for a draft where LSV puts flash in his deck with zero targets
Game one him attacking with Thraben Inspector would make sense if he was playing to balance as an out to worldspine
Shouldn't he have held back to block two damage on a worm though, I feel that would have been more important than 1 damage even if he was playing for the balance
@@bradenkeller1549 nah playing to your outs is always bettter.
@@bradenkeller1549 Not if you want to bait out the flash to use sorcerie speed removal
@@bradenkeller1549 If jbro has a balance the goal of the attack isn't to deal 1 damage, it's to get his thraben inspector dead. I think LSV sorta considered this possibility though by noting jbro had already played his land and had just an untapped plains. So the punish for blocking is only if jbro has mox+balance, which is pretty unlikely. If jbro has balance but not the mox the attack is terrible because it means the inspector doesn't get to die by blocking, the 1 damage is irrelevant, and the 2 life matters a lot when LSV is putting him to
I'd love to see a 1v1 vintage cube draft vs BK or someone
Hilarious idea😂
Oh wow, that would be fantastic!!!
39:40 Could have saced Courier with Flash on the stack in case you find the worm.
20:22 As much as I love seeing LSV win, I may have died laughing if the cast Mana Tithe. 😂
My Force Spike instincts were tingling there too, I wasn't /rooting/ for a Tithe but I was definitely expecting it
16:37 "If you see those both in the top 10 cards every couples games, like you're just gonna win." I had just noticed that only happens once in every 16 games and this guy gets it in the opener in game 1. Luck, skill, victory.
que lindo abrir esa academia en el primer pack.
Abrazo Luis, no dejes de hacer estos drafts que me encantan, vintage cube es el mejor formato del juego
I yelled “cut the boots” like ten times during your many last card cut decisions…😂 clamp I understand, it works once and you’re way ahead, but boots is really bad in this deck, just an artifact.
The boots would have won him the game at 54:12 if he had searched for mana crypt instead of the the spellbomb. I agree with you it's not great in this deck but kinda funny nonetheless. I think I would have tried cryptic command instead (which actually also would have won in that 54:12 spot without the mana crypt).
clamping hexdrinker and not leveling it up feels wild to me
Yea I'm not sure why that is the line, especially with a Trinket mage that can wear the clamp and chump to give you the turn to fully level it up.
Came here looking for this comment, going for the chance of upheaval vs a leveled up hexdrinker confused the hell out of me xD
at 28:10 you're still live before you draw the skullclamp cards because you could draw into flash+worldspine wurm to survive the turn then rip timespiral or upheaval. Pretty unlikely, but you weren't totally dead.
"Note: There's a sword of the meek there"
Ive heard this one before :p
Regarding Breach combo: I think nobody takes it because they expect other players to hate draft the other pieces. But what ends up happening is no one actually hate drafts the combo.
lol did anyone not draft artifacts?
Luis' teamates 🤣
Id like to see a video where you post some of your favorite cards in your personal collection
Gawd breach brain freeze deck would have been nuts too . He seen all the cards
ruclips.net/video/VdO0IIxGpWg/видео.html This was a very cool decision point, evaluating whether to chump the construct and blow up the Mox Opal vs. blow up the construct and keep the rec sage. Ultimately you chose to keep the rec sage since you felt you needed both Time Spiral + Upheaval to win the game, which really means you needed the top card to be skullclamp, then one of the next two to be spiral, then one of the next 7 to be upheaval. Which seems pretty low odds to me, but might be the best chance of winning versus if you simply drew Upheaval. Didn't matter in the end, but found it interesting nonetheless.
Tolarian Academy into Counter Spell? I like it
"He's baubling himself"
I thought the Great Flood only happened in biblical times..
Flash Subtlety is cute
I was thinking for a second that you could of equipped and leveled up hexdrinker, but then I realized protection from everything has downsides
whelp i guess with this being a team draft, at least you were fighting for an artifact deck only with their team. get to feel like a team player :)
Nice
Half the table forcing artifacts and you open a Tolarian Academy:
have to imagine team would do well with 2 oppponents and yourselves cannibalizing artifacts, but certainly don't disagree with decisions during draft
Even when Fastbond does its thing, it's not a guaranteed win. I would expect more upside from a card so finicky to make use of, don't you?
Couldn't you just play boots and clamp in hand on the first turn post brain freeze? That was the 2 mana needed on the second turn to win
finally 8 players again. 6 players just doesnt cut it.
.
Having flash for one card seems sketchy. If you don't have one the other is useless
Yeah but it definitely depends on your card draw / filter / tutors
He also has force and subtlety, which count for something.
Such unfortunate games
Hot take: LSV overrates Mana Crypt. It deals on average 1.5 damage to you a turn and then combine that with fetch, shock, phyrexian mana, and other self inflicted damage/life loss (things like toxic deluge, snuff out, ancient tomb). Then say your opp gets initiative they are threatening 5 more life loss pretty quickly.
Not saying it’s bad, just saying it not power. Whereas Sol Ring should be counted as power. Mana Crypt is like Temu version of power.
Edit: Happy to farm some engagement for the channel 🤩.
No
He’s described it as the only card that will allow you to win games you had no reason to win AND can lose you games you had no reason to lose. 😂
Yeah this isn't a hot take this take is hot garbage 😂☠️🤦🏻♂️
Mana Crypt's randomness is annoying and I personally hate the card for it, but there is no world in which it is not power. Compare to Ancient Tomb, which everyone agrees is busted. Assuming you use it each turn, it loses you 2 life a turn. Mana Crypt deals .5 less damage to you on average, and can be played in addition to your land drop like any other mox.
Mana Crypt is completely bonkers 50% of the time, really good 25% of the time, and everything else the rest of the time. Those are pretty good odds (much higher than LSV winning the flip). Greatness, at any cost.
