mcc pc is good for 1 thing
campaign mods, the best thing 343 done with the franchise and probably will be the best thing they will ever do is make modding the bungie games beyond ce possible.
the community does a much better job with building upon and improving upon halo and just providing more actual halo content for the franchise than 343 has in over a decade.
and even then 343 still finds ways to fuck it up with the tools still having issues and mcc specific engine issues, and the complete refusal to bring that support to console or any sort of server browser at the very least for pc so you can actually find modded mp matches rather than having to find or create groups.

I used to manage pubs in London, did it for years and naturally became very familiar with the community. Everything was going great, till the owner sold to some rich real estate people. They came in and had no idea how to run pubs or how the hospitality industry in general works from the ground up. They bumped up prices, changed ales to more expensive ones, created a new vegan friendly menu, put in all this hipster decor (old license plates, antique chairs, that kinda crap) because they wanted to attract a wider audience whilst milking out the locals as much as they could. It worked for a few months, until the locals got fed up and the new customers up and left for the latest new pub or place to be. I quit my job shortly after this happened as they started trying to get me to work harder, even though I told them this would happen.
Anyway, the point of this story is that my old pub felt like Halo, and the real estate owners are like Microsoft/343. All they saw was the potential to make money without understanding how it all actually works and why it was making money to begin with.

After Halo Wars 2 I gave up. I only bought it because it had old school Halo lore. I can't stand Halo 5. Halo 4 was an interesting take but what made no sense to me was the Promethans. When I first l learned about them I thought "Wait....why didn't they use them against the Flood?" and then having the ancient humans not be from Earth really upset me. I know it's kinda a small thing but rewriting the history of the Humans was crucial in the lore. IF I remember correctly the Humans were taken to the Ark from Earth and then replanted on Earth. I'm never purchasing Infinite. I tried to play it and couldn't get past the first level. It felt so cartoonish. You felt like an 80's action star in the original games and the story had the same atmosphere. Halo 4 onwards felt......too serious, I'll never watch the tv series.

While this video was mostly on MCC, it did touch on how I feel about 343's "Halo" in general.
The show, all of 343's games, etc etc; Do not feel like Halo atmospherically, story-wise, and gameplay-wise. I cringe so hard whenever people say that "Halo is back." or "Infinite is good now". In my opinion, Infinite is not good now, nor will it ever be because the core gameplay mechanics are trash and feel nothing like Halo. I literally installed and played Infinite two days ago after not playing in months, got 20 seconds into a match and immediately uninstalled. It just doesn't feel like nor play like Halo. Regarding the lore, similar sentiments are shared.
343 wanted to make Halo into their own thing, it's just that their own thing wasn't very good yet they still have built a fanbase that will defend their works at all costs. Most content creators, even those whom were critical in the past, say that "Infinite is good now" and I feel like I am living in crazy town and that the Halo "community" is huffing on a big tank of copium.
I've lamented Phil Spencer for a long time. While he oversees all of Xbox, the fact that he could allow Halo to fall to these depths and still be lorded as some sort of gaming saint, is beyond me.

My dad told me the most ass backwards thing I've ever heard was the reason for 343, over bungie.
(My dad works for the "International Corporation Microsoft", not the "Microsoft Gaming Division", but he had friends in the Xbox/Gaming division. Microsoft is split up into multiple pieces because it is such a massive company (so there's a distinction to make). Specifically, it's based on scale and who they're selling to, consumers, companies, investors, governments/public servants, or internationally.)
"They hired the people who didn't like halo so they could make halo better for the people who didn't like halo."
(Also, giving people turns, it seems so far 5 games is the max any studio will be given. So, they probably only have 1 or 2 games they're permitted to create after this.)
But the end result is that no one likes halo because bungie was able to appeal to almost everyone, so only those extremely niche and super simplistic people would be interested in the product after this point, or people who couldn't forget why they loved halo to begin with and were too attached to let go.
Let's not just hope for a light at the end of the tunnel, and make sure it's better this time around, and truly making it something worth hoping for.

If I had to choose a studio for halo, it would have to be either id software, or the people who did Space Hulk: Deathwing (enhanced edition).
I think id software is owned by Bethesda, so they already have that avenue open, and thinking about it, it's extremely likely we might get id software in the next 4 years.

@@D00dman they also have to pay the people a wage to make the content. You probably pay 1 or 2 peoples wages by doing so depending on how much it is.
The ip was rented out to paramount, so they don't make money off of the show, but off of selling someone a lisence to use the ip.
Also, I haven't heard much about the animated halo series, is it good?
I always played the games, but after reach the story just felt different to me, and I couldn't tell if they over complicated it, or they over simplified it.
I would play the campaign for the story, and it was a good story, but it seems they just wanted people to play mp like another call of duty that no one would invest any thought into.
Bungie filled out everything with 3 being the culmination of the ideas, and reach being the expansion of ideas. Odst was a alternate look at things, and halo 2 was cleaning up and improving things from halo.
With 343, they tried to pretend they were bungie already, they used core ip pieces and went their own direction with things instead of expanding upon old concepts.
They were just surface level emulation of what bungie was doing, and only once they got to infinite did they start to just barely understand what a halo game is, and how bungie was looking at things, and now at this point I can say they can start to make things and expand upon them and continue and bring life to the legacy.
I still have some major issues with the weapon, she's either a really simplified and weak willed cortana, or she's not really helping you and she has alternative goals. I just don't appreciate the way it was done, and her lines are just really cheesy or just low quality writing, she just doesn't have anything below a surface level, and if she did it's pretty much going to be a retcon or a "we forgot" which just tells you they suck at writing and re-writing to add complexity or depth to characters, or to create a more honed piece of work.
I do appreciate the realistic grenades, vehicles, and weaponry, but realism isn't exactly what I want, it's semi realism.
Also, when did voice lines and stuff stop having deeper meanings or double meanings, like in Disney I would go back and watch them and say "they really said that!" but now it just doesn't exist, people aren't sneaking funny shit in the movies anymore, people aren't adding a different backwards vocal for a flood music track, and people aren't being independent and taking any kinds of risk even if it could be a cool addition. People just fill the quota, there's no passion and everyone's living like the end is going to be tomorrow like nothings ever going to get better, but that's the problem, no one is trying to make things better even at a risk so nothing changes. Hopefully this gets turned around quickly and games will have life again.

Halo envoy was enjoyable to me, I like the detail it brings to the franchise but I understand why so may not like it, it seems to me that some people want only a small part of the franchise to be explored i.e. master chief, the Spartans and not much else and the only problem i see with that is it would be easy to run that well dry, i.e. run out of ideas. In the main line games i want to see master chiefs perspective and interactions with the halo universe and in smaller side games and other media i like to see the richness of the halo universe explored, i like the politicking in ONI and the interactions between humanity and other species after the war, all of these things IMO have a place in the franchise if done well.
All in all i have enjoyed a lot of the books but none of the 343 games, Halo Wars is pretty good but 4,5 and infinite all fall well short of being a Halo game and their lack of ability to just look the bungies games for inspirations and examples is disturbing. 343 and Microsoft have a lot to answer for.

Halo isn't made for us no more. And that's a good thing. Because Halo isn't made for us no more. It's made now for the fortnite and tik tok generation who don't know how credit cards work. I hope they have fun.

You’re welcome. Congratulations on getting married. Hopefully that works out well for you. Also, on a different video you said that you’ve mostly been busy and that’s why you haven’t uploaded or responded to people for a while.
I remember for a while I didn’t want to believe that Microsoft abandoned Halo. I also bought into the hype around Infinite because all these people who were previously very critical of 343 were singing its praises before launch. Now we know about stuff like the Forerunners program.
More on the topic of 343 and Microsoft being beyond incompetent and out of touch, with the EXPLOSIVE success of HellDivers 2 people have been saying we should get a Halo version with ODSTs. In response several ex-343 devs responded with hints that at one point they wanted that. One of the guys who worked there for 12 years came out and said that while he was there they pitched 20-30 Halo games, and one of them was VERY similar to HellDivers 2. 343’s leadership and Microsoft shot it down. Now you have Phill Spencer sperging out about how it’s bad for the game to be exclusive to PlayStation (and pc), when he and the rest of Microsoft should instead be introspective about this. I really hope they’re kicking themselves right now. They’ve also fumbled Gears of War, Rare, and now that they’ve purchased Activision Blizzard they’ll most likely make that even worse.

If I may pitch in, the closest we ever got to Helldivers was Spartan Ops in Halo 4. You could see the phantom of what Helldivers 2 is today back in H4 Spartan Ops, but it was poorly executed like basically everything else 343 has tried to do.All I can do now is dream about how awesome a Halo ODST 2 would have been on a vast map with covenant patrols prowling around.@@shreksnow1918

At this point I'm starting to feel like it's better to just NOT give your creations to ANY corporation (unless they prove without a shadow of a doubt to be down to earth at their core). While it may be cheaper, at least there's a higher chance that any passion and humanity imbued within will remain once all is said and done.

The exchange hasn't had new stuff in it since the H2A skin update and since then I haven't got the rhine armour from season 6 and people can't get the halo 2 skins, poses, weapon skins from previous seasons e.g. white halo 3 sniper rifle and hell they never brought the past season rewards into the exchange. I've had enough so I have uninstalled it. Like I'd said in a previous comment end times folks time to find a new favourite game.

MCC on console is still broken H2A campaign runs horribly, half my shots feel like they do nothing in Halo 3 and there’s far more than just that I’m too sick of to drone on about also for example not even a single Battlefield game (pre 2042) released in this bad a state on day one As MCC 9 years later and even then old Dice were able to fix it more or less completely within a couple of months

Halo literally kept me alive during my childhood. It was the only good part of my crappy childhood. I cried when Bungie left haha. Bungie Halo is the only Halo that exists in my canon and the 343 shit just…. I don’t even know. 343 to me is a character from the original trilogy. The Monitor of Installation 04 and 04B. The company doesn’t exist lol. 343’s stories (not halo 5 tho) could exist in and be part of Bungie lore as it was meant to be but they didn’t want to be Halo.

Yeah, I’ve given up on Halo and anyone who still has hope “is but flesh and faith, and is the more deluded.”
Tired of kids who didn’t grow up with the game telling me I’m wrong for being upset with how this game I’ve known for 20 of the 26 years I’ve been alive has grown cancerous and tumorous. Tired of the constant political pandering. Tired of the “wholesome” culture that 343 keeps propagating, even though their public relations team is some of the most antisocial terminally online maroons available. Tired of the Halo plots just getting progressively more and more horrible. I’m just…
Tired. I miss the old days; playing the Halo: Combat Evolved demo on my dad’s work computer in 2003, then getting into Halo: Custom Edition after getting and playing the campaign later on. My dad bringing home an Xbox 360 in 2008 and my brothers and I getting some Halo 3 action in, then my buddies in middle school and high school with ODST, Reach, and then kinda 4.
5 and Guardians have been awful, and 343 throughout has been miserable to deal with time and time again. I used to think that maybe I was just getting older, but it truly is everyone else not getting what Halo was instead of it being just us being some washed up, grouchy game boomers.

The death of halo saddens me so much.
Halo 2 and 3 were and still are some of my favorite games of all time. Everyone had halo 3 way back when, it was literally my social networking service since I didn’t have a phone.
My problems started with reach multiplayer, 4 multiplayer I got into but could admit it wasn’t the same. And 5 was the fucking last straw. That’s the game I literally got an Xbox one for.
Halo infinite had promise, but the multiplayer beta just being essentially season 1 pissed me off that I didn’t try the campaign until recently. And all the aggressive monetization, fuck no.
Even the infinite campaign…it has no atmosphere. Halo was ALL atmosphere, even 4 had a “vibe”. And infinite just feels so sterile, between the weird “cutscenes” with just cringey mocap performances to the settings all being 3 biomes, I’m just done. There’s only 2 human faces in infinite, and both look fucking horrible. Halo 4 has great facial animations, made by 343 on Xbox 360 in 2012, what the fuck happened?
Halo and Pokémon were my jams since I was in the single digit age bracket, and the downfall of both of those franchises, at a similar time and trajectory, is just a little too much for me.
