Elmer Hopper does an outstanding job of interpreting this song. My hat's off to you Elmer. Wish you and Paul were still out there entertaining us. God I miss you guys
Thank you my friend. Unfortunately Paul passed away back in 1989. I love those songs then and now. Classics are just great. God Bless you my friend. Look out for my book coming real soon!
PI honors the life and musical legacy of Elmer Hopper. #ElmerHopper #ThePlatters #TheMillsBrothers #rip#ProducersIncorporated" Elmer Hopper spent 21 years with The Platters. In 1974, at the age of nineteen, Elmer was trained personally by Paul Robi, (the baritone of the original group.) He accompanied Paul on an international tour spanning the globe from Japan and China, to Canada and Australia in what was said to be the best ensemble of The Platters since the group’s inception. In 1999, Elmer Hopper joined The Mills Brothers and continued to tour until his death this past weekend.
BigBruce, Knowing that you enjoy this rendition makes me happy. You had my back once before in a situation concerning someone ragging on Paul Robi awhile back. I used to feel so bad for Paul knowing he was sick and never telling us, or complaining about his health. He did work harder than anyone else from the original group in terms of upholding the groups reputation. Thanks again
On this day in 1959 {February 20th} the Platters performed "Enchanted" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'... One month later on March 23rd it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #12 and spent 15 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #3 in Australia and #9 on Billboard's R&B chart... Herb Reed, the last surviving original member, passed away on June 4th, 2012 at the age of 83... R.I.P. Mr. Reed and Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012}...
I saw Paul Robi's Platters featuring Elmer Hopper in Chesterfield, Mo., right outside St. Louis in 1986 and what a show it was. Elmer is a great vocalist and stylist in his own right . Truly an artist.
Hey there Alain, glad you liked it. tripeo47 has inspired me to put some Elmer Hopper on online. See guys, I'm Tony Williams & Paul Robi's biggest fan. Man I was young in those days, but I still can sing those songs like they're supposed to sound. Enjoy more coming?
Ok this was recorded back in 1987? I was working with Paul Robi the original Baritone of the Platter. This was one of the tunes I would solo in our show. The album it was released on is out of print! That's why I posted it, because I'm not out of Print :) I hope you enjoyed it. I also love Breaking Bad take care Elmer Hopper
Bruce, I forgot to say that I'm very proud of Herb Reed for hanging in there. He's a cool guy, and with all the imitations out there using the Platters name he still continues to keep a great group and works with such class. It took me a lot of convincing Mr. Robi to let me bring back a tune done by the great Tony Williams. So Enchanted was my choice, and I got to record it :)
Elmer I want to extend my condolences to your family and work that incredible tenor into God's choir. Your love of music and the classics always inspired me to listen to older compositions like the Mills bros. Our brief friendship is cherished and you are missed.

Jesse floated adrift his bed by the original song which was sung by Tony Williams. Sad, but it's just not the same unless your Enchanted by Tony.
