Can't wait to watch you play a random world for 200 years. The RNG on that can be lethal.
If you have the Military Focus, you can farm ez duels by antagonizing people who are Wroth. They will usually challenge you to a duel immediately.
Thank you very much for this guide, OPB, I wouldn't have gotten it without your help. Some tips from my experience: There is a hidden cooldown for excommunication (your court chaplain gets the modifier -recently asked for excommunication -50), just invite a new noble, make him your new court chaplain, excommunicate your former court chaplain and duel him. If you find a homosexual spymaster, he will like you more and more as you gain duel experience (due to sex appeal modifier)

Why did you not conquer the whole Bulgaria since you have such amazing starting Casus Beli? Is it because you feared the war against Byzantium or is it just because you didn't care for that much land in this challange?

A tip to make this even faster: If you invite nobles and replace your patriarch, you only have to wait 4 months between the duels because the new one will give excommunication, I was able to get the bloodline in 882

~ Someone who already got this achievement in a for-serious game and nearly lost my mind doing so
edit: after several restarts due to being dumb I was able to get it. took so long I was able to complete both possible unlocks and the legendary bloodline from the warrior society. As an interesting side effect of save scumming, I was able to duel the same person twice if I saved and ctrl+alt deleted the game and then sent another duel challenge to them.

It's a shame Einstein hated quantum physics. Today's world would give him a stroke. (Einstein also borrowed most of his work from other physicists, but that was nothing new.) Now Isaac, Faraday, and Niels Bohr were true genius (I would say Maxwell too, but his devils to explain time travel were way out there... he also only became famous for rewriting other physicist's equations to "correct" them.)
TLDR One Proud Bavarian is smarter than Einstein.
1.Get a Tengri religion character.
2.Join the Eagle society.
3.Be an asshole to everyone to make them your rivals so you can duel them.(Eagle society action)
4.Make your character a commander.
5.Buy a warhorse. This will pop an event during battles where the enemy commander is attacking your horse,allowing you to gallop forward and have a duel.
6.Do Raids Alot of Them. When you raid look at the treasury of the people you raid. You wan to steal their armor/weapons. Which will give you combat bonus.
7.Sacriface Enemy commanders to Tengri. This will give a temporary combat boost aswell.
*You could also try to get bloodlines for personal combat but that would take some time.
I am playing a Turkish Khaganate where i have reformed Tengri.
Be aware that RNG is still a big factor here. I've attempted this 3 times so far using this method and every time on the 4th or 5th duel I die.
Just tried it again. Died after 23 duels. 45 duel experience, 4 ruthless dueler. Shit's frustrating.
MANY attempts later I finally got it. Definitely easier than any other method I can think of to get this achievement but be aware the RNG is still a factor. There is a cap on how much personal combat skill can affect the outcome of a fight, so even with an insane PCS you still have a small percentage chance to die to someone with even a negative PCS.
I know that has been a while, but you can alt tab and end CK2 task when you are going to die. Next time you will start the game, it will be a little before the duel, so you can try again without dying.
@@kef7109 Thanks I forget how long exactly it took but I got it eventually just doing like in the video. Will keep that in mind for future runs since I like joining warrior lodges though!

BTW people are reporting that dueling is stacked against the player and the immortal trait and high PCS actually makes it much more probable to lose to a complete loser to the point where 200 PCS character loses five times in a row ( sve scumming ) to someone with negative PCS.
Which is typical for Paradox tbh.

I only think you can get the duelist trait by the warrior lodge, but forget you can bully the weak chick 'holy man'.
if I got ruthless duelist x4 but not the blood line, should I keep on dueling or do I need to restart? if I need to restart, what did I do wrong?
Best part of that is that you can go straight from this into the achievement where you need 5 bloodlines. I really am not one for copying other peoples strategies though so I think I will stick to accidentally conquering half the world.
Not really. That achievement is about historical bloodlines, the ones formed during normal playthrough do not count like this one

I got it as sigurdr ring of svitjod When i became immortal lived 287 years and had 587 personal combat
I did it with Sweden with Bjorn Ironsides 1st son because VIKINGS OP i didnt even need to hire noblemen i just crushed everything in scandinavia then denmark and then all the russians
I did this with Hrafn Gautzke's son. It took longer, but was fun nonetheless.
I try your method and i was pretty unlucky : no orthodox women, a very difficult first war with Bulgaria... And you know what ? My character became immortal ! It's been over a century and i still didn't have the sucess...

I reached this award by playing on Estonia with an hero of the bear guide, killing some bears in Bizancium. Probably the best run ever.
I think that if you select the ambition to 'forge a bloodline' it breaks the method here so make sure to NOT select the forge bloodline ambition. I had 7xRuthless dualist , the duellist lifestyle trait and over 100 duel experience but it didn't pop.
I got headhunter in a nonironman mode playing the game like it was ironman... Wish I knew to enable ironman at the start, but w/e, I can do it again.
6 months later, still the rarest...

I know i'm so late but i had a problem with this achievement. I was doing it the exactly way you were doing it and i killed like 30 people in duels or more but the achievement didnt pop. Anyone knows what happens? Ironman is for sure activated cause i got the "by the gods" and "zero to hero" achievements while doing it so i dont know what happened. Maybe a bug?
Just to make sure - do you have the duelist trait?
Once you have the EXP and the trait, every time you gain duel EXP there is a 20% (50% if you have no other bloodlines) that you get the bloodline. You might just be getting dunked on by the RNG, so keep at it!

I got it when i reached ruthless duelist x 8 🤣, the double of the required but i got it finally. @@1488EVERGETES Ran into the same problem the RNG was terrible. Had 8x ruthless and 119 dual exp before I finally got the bloodline. at year 899 age 54. really was cutting it close.

I tried this achievement, but I forgot to activate my Found a Bloodline ambition.
i keep loosing duels with 100+ duel experience while the other always has less than 10..

as soon as i convert to ortho ,eagle warriors get rid of me .
You just need the duelist trait from the eagle warriors, nothing else. So as long as you get that you don't need to be a member anymore
I didn't get the achievement but I met the objectives with the jorvik guy in 867 (I don't remember the name) but I didn't activate the iron mode 😔

My try: went good and i thought, I got it, until the fucking 19th duell absolutly killed us both
I've reached Ruthless Duelist x8, Renowned Duelist x18, Duel exp x117 but still nothing...
I've been at this for 3 hours andddd even cured my current character of cancer before getting this. Any idea what I've missed?
Did you pick up the duelist trait via the lodge?
Alternatively - the chance to get the bloodline is 20% after every duel, so you might just be incredibly unlucky
@@OneProudBavarian I took the trait as early as I could. I end up getting the achievement with Duel exp x124, Renowned Duelist x20, Ruthless Duelist x8.
Not sure what took it so long but I guess all is fine... Now, only if this bloodline could be founded in a more reliable way for normal playthrough, would be cool to see even the AI do it once in a while... :D

So I've got 100+ duel experience, Duelist trait, and ruthless 7, yet I haven't got the bloodline, am I that unlucky? Or is it because I have the warrior lodge bloodline?
I think that having a bloodline does decrease the odds of founding another, but OPB just did it with two already so it's just rng messing eith you
I had kind of the same situation some time after the bloodline update... had 212 duel experience and 17 ruthless duels, altough at that time the bloodline was bugged and completely unachievable picture of the character bellow,

Oh also, the only reason i stayed alive was because the character and her sister were both satanspawns with insane intrigue (57 state intrigue as you can see) so quite literally no one could kill her.

Haha i got this achievement almost. Haha i got handicapped and i was one duel away.
I cant get the schollarship event to fire! Fuckin waited for 5 years, also the Fuckin Bulgariens had a revolt during my conquest so i lost half of hungary because they never ended the revolt.
Did you build the observatory to start the questline?
I did it in the video, but neglected to mention that you need to do it after selecting the focus.

@@OneProudBavarian I did it Bavarian i did it, omg it was so close to getting fucked. Rng lost me the zelous trait very late and i thought i wouldnt get it but i managed to do it by antagonizing people and dueling them when we were rivals. I also used the making children im edducation ambitious and my rival. OMFG i am so happy i managed to do it, Arpad was fuckin 69 years old, and so close to death! But i did it!

Sure, you need to survive as a Zoroastrian or any Pagan Religion with the Divine Marriage Doctrine, but once you've done that, it doesn't sound too hard.
Surely CK2 Players are not just too squeamish to attempt that achievement, right? We've all done worse things after all. In the game, that is.

Even the most common achievement has only like 17%. Why? Is everyone too afraid to play Ironman mode?
Because everyone want to save.
I, personally, had done Ironman only one time (as Mac Carthaigh of Desmond), got Divine Blood and Survivor.
Probably a combination of wanting to play mods and not wanting Ironman save corruptions
Lots of people, me included, like to save freely and to change characters while on the same playthrough. And obviously mods. Not everyone cares about achievements
I usually create my own character which disables ironman.
