    For a second I thought the hi-hat pattern is wrong but then I saw swing feel written on the top 😂😅

      I think it is wrong. Reggae is usually notated with the backbeat on beat 3, not 2 and 4. That would make the 8th and two 16ths a quarter and two 8ths, or a standard jazz ride pattern, which makes a lot more sense since 16ths aren't usually swung.

    What is the hi hat counting please?

      You can count it “1-&a 2-&a”, in a swung feel.
      If you write it out in cut time, you can it “1 2& 3 4&” in swung feel

      Swung feel for the groove! ☺️
      You can also write it with quarter notes and eights notes and play the one drop on 3 (instead of 2+4)

      Technically no. Yes - reggae is usually counted as an 8th note shuffle feel with the backbeat on 3, but this is the same thing audiologically.

    I’m french. Please traduct my comment please!! C’est super bien ce que tu fais mais tu n’as pas du tout le groove reggae…. Je vois tes vidéos depuis longtemps et tu es très très bon batteur dans beaucoup de choses et de styles mais sans avoir le groove et la vibes qu’il faut dans ce que nous fais voir dans tes vidéos… Mais c’est bien. C’est super quand même !!

    If you're dropping the one drop kick on two and four, then it's not one drop, and you're counting wrong.
