    This is by far the most easy to understand, informative explanation of perfumes. lol. Like seriously, I love how you explain the notes! Great tips for finding that signature scent. I know I like White florals, Tropical and Vanilla type scents

      Thank you!!! That was my goal-- to get all the info out there in an easy to digest way because there's a LOT to learn about fragrances. I also looove vanilla scents.

    Great info! Picking fragrance can be so hard because everybody has their own preferences, and the scent reacts differently on different skin!

    This is a great introduction to perfumes! I don't have a signature scent as I like a variety, but there are definitely several that I love! I've tried a fragrance recently that smelled so good in the store that did not develop well on me.

      It's crazy how big the difference can be when spraying on your skin and letting it develop.

    In the spring and summer months I wear Marc Jacobs Dot. And in the wintertime I wear Estée Lauder Beautiful. And the fall I wear Tiffany and Co. I also have several others that I spritz periodically. But those three are what I qualify as my signature scents.

      @slashedbeauty  5 лет назад +1

      That’s awesome that you’ve got your signature scents down! I didn’t even know Tiffany had fragrances, I’ll have to check them out!

    I’m still on the hunt for my ‘wedding’ perfume :)

    • @slashedbeauty
      @slashedbeauty  5 лет назад +1

      So I didn't know ANYTHING about perfumes when I chose my wedding one. I basically sprayed a bunch on different strips and let Adam pick it out. It ended up being the Britney Spares Fantasy in Bloom, which is an Eau de Toilette. Really pretty, but had I known all this before I would have chosen something that was going to last longer!

    This was so interesting, I had no idea between the eau de toilette and eau de parfum and no clue that there was even pure parfum!

    • @slashedbeauty
      @slashedbeauty  5 лет назад

      Not a lot of places carry pure parfum -- at least I didn't find any at Ulta. I think it's definitely more of a niche product because it is so concentrated (and expensive!)

    This video really helped me. I never understood any of it before this video. Thanks I have a question, so once you wear it on your skin for about 30 minutes you will get the smell that you want to make sure you like. Could it smell different on different people based on a person's own smell?

    • @slashedbeauty
      @slashedbeauty  5 лет назад +1

      So happy I explained the info well and you learned something new! So yes- the 30 min mark is usually when the middle and base notes come out and this is what you want to judge the perfume by, since this is the smell that’s going to actually linger the longest. And you are correct! Perfumes can smell different on different people based on body chemistry.

    *this is such a random question but can anyone please answer me??*
    so im new to perfumes and only after purchasing some i found out that "musk" comes from animals?? im against animal cruelty so can people confirm this to me please? also are the musks in davidoff perfumes, or cheaper perfumes real or synthetic?
    i dont wanna wear a perfume knowing animals are being harmed :(
