Funky, and Skunky! You just have to hand it to Les, and Leo! After ALL these years, they're pretty much STILL the benchmark by which ALL others are patterned! Nice Job, RJ! Thanks CVG!
Best LP tone I’ve heard in a very long time. I’ve never had the right kind of chemistry with Gibson. There’s so much I don’t like about them, yet I still play as many as I can.
I kinda agree but there is something magical about a les paul and a deluxe reverb with maybe an overdrive. It’s a killer combination and and blissful in the right hands
Wow, super tasty tone! Hard to beat a Les Paul through a blackface Fender - and I spy that Tube Screamer back there! Of course everything sounds great in RJ’s hands.
Nice one RJ! How cool is it that 60+ years later we all still swoon over this early guitar tech. Can you imagine people wanting to see demos of the original iPhone even a decade later 😂
@@qiricoI think so yeah. The deluxe Reverb has to be cranked in order for it to have that much overdrive. So i think the TS is giving it a little push. It’s a common trio people use and it sounds great. I use it and i can hear it from a mile away. Les Paul, TS, Deluxe Reverb Absolute bliss
Mojo can't be replicated, no matter how good they get at relic'ing...it's pretty weird to see people treating 80s ESP and Jackson like holy grail guitars now, but perhaps they're gaining some mystique too with age and use by major artists
@@jasondorsey711080s ESPs and Jacksons are great guitars, just different. I wouldn’t pay stupid money for one as their modern production guitars are just as great and cost less, but if they’re your thing, they’re not a bad investment.
Great player! Every guitar sounds great in his hands. Once again shows how overvalued certain guitars are. There is no argument in the age of the woods though.
In my opinion, there are are two guitars that rule the world, the others just fill in a few niche positions.. The Gibson Les Paul is #1. Had one years ago, that was stolen by a former friend. The other is Telecaster.
What I like about this is you can buy a standard for $3k and it is this… what they are making today is as good as anything they’ve ever made. I get the price complaints, but as someone who builds guitars and amplifiers the cost of materials and labor is obviously high.
RJ is a great player. I prefer when he played on P90 guitars. I have never understand what is great about these pick-ups. It's overrated if you ask me. The place is great. 👍🙂
He would sound like this on an 84 dollar Amazon guitar. Gear is irrelevant. A neurosurgeon bought this for 3 million, and it hangs on a wall so he can talk about it. Stupid.

Not two minutes in and I'm lost in his inspired mastery! R.J., I do not listen enough to you! Makes that classic on a classic truly sing!!!
Tory Slusher would embarrass him
Wow, what a video to wake up to this morning. I wish I could make my Les Paul sound like that. Well, I'll keep practicing.

Check out Tory Slusher. This is embarrassing
@@mattdelany6799 Tory is awesome! But RJ's feel, versatility, natural sense of dynamics is far from embarrassing. If you play, you know.
@@-TheGreatWhiteBite- you watched Tory Slusher, right?
@@mattdelany6799 yes Ive been subscribed to her for a while now.

Nice groove blues with a funky pop to it. Great job R.J

I wish RJ would release some music. Such a great player!
Always love hearin that dude play. No heavy gain, no effects. Just playin that beautiful geetar
RJ Ronquillo, my favorite guitar player 👍
Always a joy hearing RJ play ❤
Very cool tone, almost sounds like flats. RJ killing it as always. I hope this guitar gets played by someone of his caliber.
Lol
A billionaire bought it and threw it in the ocean during a cocaine fueled temper tantrum

Do NOT compare a vintage Les Paul to a piece of crap. :-))
Amazing Tone! Spongy & Juicy!
Beautiful guitar. Lovely playing !
Lovely stuff, well done RJ
RJ sei GRANDE!!!!
RJ is amazing!
Great player.. @1:11 i heard something.. rj is one of a kind..
Great playing !
Wow, molto bello! Sarebbe bello sentire più demo di Miss. Swiss , così da poter apprezzare tutte le sfumature di tono.
R.J. is an amazing player.
Btw didn't Gibson produce 600 something Les Paul Standards in '59? I must've seen at least 3000 being sold to date.
That groove!!! Impressive my friend
Honorable mention to that 65 deluxe reverb
And don’t forget that little green box that sitting on the 65 deluxe reverb 👀

I think depending on pups output you could achieve this level of overdrive quite easily, but not that much punch and percussion

Holy cow that was awesome!
Yes!! 🔥🔥
Nice of ya'll to let him take it home wth him! He earned it.
That’s a good one!
Great stuff... I tried playing it and it took me a while to figure out it's in drop D, LOL! Great stuff, really groovy!
This is open D not drop D😊
If I had to choose between the 59 "Miss Swiss" and the ability to play like RJ, I'd definitely choose the latter.
Dang, man!!! 👍👍👍
Outstanding
Thank You Carter Vintage Guitars and to you RJ for demonstrating. Best Regards and Best Wishes!
So tasty! No magic equipment..only magic players.
You think Gibson could make this again. but. this 1959 has that magic and. beautiful tone that can't be replicated

An 84 dollar Amazon is just as good. It’s your fingers
Goddamn this is how a Les Paul is supposed to sound. A tele with an attitude on steroids and testosterone!
That guitar is worth more than my future
Great player! Every guitar sounds great in his hands. Once again shows how overvalued certain guitars are. There is no argument in the age of the woods though.
Like Greg Koch, RJ always seems to play something perfectly tailored to the instrument he’s demoing…something that draws out the best it has to offer.
What should I say?
"more, more, more!!!" (from Woodstock, '70)
Just what the doctor prescribed!!!
what amp is this??? princeton or deluxe reverb????
Very Johnny A sounding!
wow! That guitar is at LEAST five thousand dollars!
You're probably looking at a couple of hundred thousands mate. You'll buy a traditional for 5 grand but not this one
I think he was being sarcastic 🤣
I bought it for 3 million, and i gave it to Tory Slusher, who can really play guitar.
I gotta get back down there
What is that tasty riff?
Gibson 59 les paul Theo besth ronquilo guitar Very good Alexandre são Paulo Brazil
I just bought it
