The best sounding one was the Collector's Choice Sandy.

I don't know what amp and pedal were used for this demonstration, but I'm a little underwhelmed with the sound. It may be the lack of volume perhaps, I don't really know. Sometimes the sheer beauty of an instrument heightens your expectations and if they are not met you feel a little disappointed. Maybe that's what it is. All the same it's about the most beautiful burst I've ever seen.

if a guitar has the fortune of being in that environment great and this guitar sounds amazing on top of its condition--however, many of the bursts were just used guitars in the 60s/70s out on the road played many nights a year for many years with zero thought of what they might become as collectibles--chicken and the egg sort of thing really. So many are not in this condition (mine is in very good but not this condition) from many world tours and local gigging--tell a 25 year old searching for his break and a slice of pizza to take care with his guitar at 3am (after beer and whatever else). We're lucky any survived in any condition at all!! Let people age theirs if they want--homage to the vibe--the guitars I have for 30-40 years gigging have their road trophies--yours?

I Hope have not been sold a pup looks like it has been re topped
do you honestly think Gibson would use that magnificent piece of timber on a $230.00 guitar
in 59" they could not give them away! Timber of that caliber would have been selected for L 5's or Super 400".s
Where is the DARK BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD every creams their pants over Gibson never advertised it as BRAZILIAN
THE WANKER COLLECTORS COINED THAT TERM

A half way good COUNTERFEIT look at the tuners, there not in alignment, and the head stock wings are too exaggerated

The wings are fine. Nice and sharp showing minimal wear. The tuners, well 3 of my 10 Les Pauls have misaligned tuners. No worse than what's in the video.

Here we go. This is a favorite of every armchair expert when it comes to bursts ... yelling "FAKE!" Does that make you feel better? If the world came down to your level what would anyone have to aspire to? You'd be just as miserable. So enjoy the things you cant have and that are more than your current status. When you do, you just might climb up vs trying to tear down. Good day Roger.

I knew this would bring out the experts... I know it's authentic because i have two "bursts" of my own, '58 and a '60 that i bought in the late '60s for believe it or not for around 2k for each. I love any "burst" and they are all have their own personality. Just having a bit of fun guys. Don't hate me!! Lol

It sounds fake to me. It could be a well done copy visually but the sound is much more difficult and expensive to achieve. Let’s see the rear cover off. My guess is good pickups into modern repro pots and caps; I do not hear PAF quack, centralab pots, or bumblebee caps.

@@orbitaljellyfish808 That's 'your' guess is it? My guess is that everything you think you 'know' was learnt on you tube and dumb forums. I'd also guess that you've never touched, seen, felt or played a real one. This is one of the most famous and well documented bursts. I've owned lots of 50s Gibsons including Les Pauls and I made a good living selling guitars for 4 decades. If you can tell pot and cap brands via a RUclips clip you must have the greatest ears on the planet. I've sold to some of the biggest names in the business. There is a huge difference between 'information' and knowledge. Learn the difference.

@@orbitaljellyfish808 I'm going to assume it's pedigree is proven. Not all had "that" tone that's in your head. There were actually some dogs! This one fits in the "moaner" category, not the "biter" category. Repros and new pauls often take the moaner idea to a whole nother level. The biters are much more special to me. ruclips.net/video/463L8uyaRIE/видео.html
