I have to admit The animation is spectacular for a NES game.
I had the exact same thought, like I guess due to how simplistic the game is when it’s zoomed out on the board they decided to animate everything else which is pretty clever.

Didn't realize that video game monopoly goes that far back. What I do know is that Monopoly Streets for the Wii is prolly the best video game monopoly there is.
I'm glad this is a series now, every episode is so much fun and it looks like John and James also have fun recording them, it's a win-win.

James! You should review these games as an AVGN/Board James crossover video, just like you did with the board games based on video games. It completes the cycle if you do video games based on board games.

Love that movie.
My family LOVED that version of monopoly. It reduced fights, nobody could steal from the bank, and if someone wanted to drop out of the game, you could just make them a computer player on their next turn.
Saved lots of fights lol

Monopoly on the old consoles was legit.
Even with the modern versions of Monopoly i still prefer to play this one on NES. Is so fast and fits with the aesthetic more than other versions.

It was always interesting to me how the Clue game on Genesis was played differently than the board game.

Glad to see that the James, the original youtuber is still going strong.
NES Monopoly is the best version. Can run fast if you want it to, AI is decent (although has some flaws), and it even supports 8 players. I'm surprised they didn't use a second controller. It would literally lock you out from taking someone else's turn.
This clue version plays differently to the board game which is why I think a lot of people hate it. I'm surprised they figured out how it works.

In the clue board game if you had an idea but weren’t fully confident you would want to make a SUGGESTION (unlike an accusation you had to be in a room to do this) and if you were wrong you were just told why (someone else having one of the cards or whatever) and there was no consequence outside of your turn ending but making an accusation and being incorrect was an automatic loss
I imagine it'd be easier with the body. Narrow down the weapons based on the injury. Rope would leave a much different mark than the knife
Monopoly for NES is, to this day, my favorite game based on a board game. I still play it occasionally.
