Long ago, I inherited some NES games from my childhood friend. Many of them were even used in AVGN. Now, we reunite to play those actual game cartridges once again!

@@SoyAntonioGaming Why would he do that if they were given to him? I have given things to my best friend. Would I ask for it back YEARS later? No. I gave them to him. It's a done deal. Do you have to find something negative/a reason to nitpick just because? No.

I'm jealous that James can reconnect with a childhood friend like that. For me it's hard cause everyone has their own lives, are located too far away, or I simply can't find them, and they're not on social media.

I love this episode. My best friend and I grew up together, started with pinball and electromechanical games then arcades on to console ( NES, SNES, GENESIS, TURBO GRAFX16 etc..). We both are gamers playing on gaming PCs. We befriended in 1966 and still are great friends today still gaming.

As others had mention this was so wholesome. My fav part was the stories about the neighbourhood and such, I don't think the new gen will understand that social dynamic anymore. So much nostalgia and it was great learning about both of you.

The fact that they still get to meet after all these years amazes me.
James is like that one gamer that knows from the beginning to collect all artifacts and relics instead of rushing to finish the game so when he finished his childhood he has all those items / collection to show.
This post-nerd deep dive into production and James's life as the Nerd and the impact it's had is the best phase of Cinemassacre's AVGN so far, and I am so so grateful to be here for it. Thank you for all the love throughout the years, to all the team members at Cinemassacre!
James is pretty much a friend I grew up with, found him when I was like 6 haven't missed an episode since and now I'm 21

This made me want to reconnect with my childhood best friend, I played so many classic games with him, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, the original Resident Evil trilogy, Super Mario 64, OoT... really miss those days

This is what cinnemassacre has been missing. The avgn hasn't been the same, none of it really. Go back to the days of old. The roots of what made us all connect with you...go back to the past.
I love the AVGN, that was why I started following as a teen. Cinnemassacre as a whole never meant anything to me. But as I've grown I've become very fond of these sit downs with James and hearing how he feels about various media.

This is so relatable. Seems like in the early 90's everyone borrowed games. Once my neighbor got a Genesis, he stopped playing his NES and I borrowed several games from him. I still have them....sorry Tom!

I had a similar situation with Hot Wheels. Me and some kid were playing with some hot wheels (this was when I was around 5 - 6 years old) and he let me borrow some of his cars and I never saw him in the playground again.

It’s always awesome to meet up with old buddies from high school that you haven’t seen in ages. Just seeing the different trajectories our lives took after our formative years that made us into the people we are today.
