  • An animation produced for a client in January 2015. The client appears in a modern city and slowly goes back in time to see the changes through it's long history.
My client didn't want any audio on delivery so I've added some with the help of the following users from Freesound:
Tigersound, freqman, erh, edifield, juskiddink, maj061785, sorohanro, dj-chronos, stereostereo, beatsbycasper, klanbeeld, robinhood76, swiftoid, owl, johnnyfarmer, rsilverira-88, jarredgibb, dheming, kyster_, opticreep and speedygonzo.
Special thanks for the main score to Kevin MacLeod from incompetech.com - highly recommended for free music.

1:56 it is a myth that corporal punishment was normal in the middle ages!!! Back then they didn't have prisons, they gave people fines for almost everything except for things like killing someone or rape. The reason it is widely believed that corporal punishment was normal in the middle-ages is that this was highly propagandised by the states that formed in the 1700s after the enlightenment, because these newly formed states founded in 'rationality' (with a model of the universe where it is an automatic clockwork made by - but not continuously interfered with - God) needed to look down upon old times to make it seem as much of an improvement as possible. This is also the reason why it is widely believed that in the middle-ages people just threw their shit out of the window (which was actually carefully collected in, once again, a sophisticated system to fertilise the soil with) and streets were all made of dirt, while the streets in the city were all paved, hence it is called a street and not a path.

@@jerryharrison870 No they didn't. Top-hats were an invention of the 19th century. Capotains or sugarloaf hats, which are probably what you're thinking of, had a flatter brim and a crown pointing (inward) in the opposite direction. The hat depicted in this video is very clearly a top-hat; not a capotain.
