Sally is the peak of Hollywood class. She is a national treasure.
Sally Field is such an incredibly beautiful woman.
True. Read her recent autobiography, some of the details of her life will disturb you. She's been through a lot
You think you got a shot?
She's got a real pair of getaway sticks on her.
Sally Field is one of those women who got better looking with age. For example, I think she was a lot prettier at 45 than when she was at 25.
Now now keep your tongue rolled up. 😂
This Ep. aired 28 years ago today. Sally had been 48 for exactly 3 months! What an absolute beauty she is.
David was a few months away from turning 48 himself. What an absolute beauty he is.
@@daveidmarx8296 🤣😁🤣😁🤣😁
@@daveidmarx8296WTF 😳 Ahahahahahaaaa 😆
yeah holy sheet was 48 here, and she still had perky...
Never saw Sally look prettier than in this interview..lovely!
This fantastic lady is in a different plateau, she glowed in this interview, incredibly smart and beautiful, Sally is timeless. 🌹
I had such a crush on Sally Field when I was a teenager. Other boys crushed on people like Cheryl Teigs and Farrah Fawcet, but I had a crush on Sally. There was something so genuine, sweet, and authentic about her...
And dreamed of stealing her away in her wedding dress with your black Trans Am!
same here.....she was cute as a button!!
💯
Sally overcame her image much like Farrah Fawcett. Normal women. Before the KarTRASH-Iam era . Pre-K
I've been crushing on Sally since I can remember - smart, gorgeous, charming, and talented. Le sigh.
beta male
Get in line, buddy
She was 49 here. As someone north of 50 myself, I don't think of 49 as old... however, it's worth pointing out what a stunning and charming woman she is, if only to make it clear that 49 is NOT old at all. She's clearly a charmer without even trying.
48. She had turned 48 just three months earlier.
@@frankie3041 It´s the same 48 or whatever, she was in her 50´s back then.
That age was my peak, I now realize.
@@leonardshevlin7260 I began a cross country drive (NYC to San Diego) just a few days after turning 47 in 2017. It was possibly the best time of my life.
your not old at 49 if you did not abuse your self
This is one of the best interviews on Letterman. Sally is a gem and looked fabulous here, quite sexy . And she is so real, no BS nonsense like with so many of the elite actors of today.
We don’t even have Conan anymore so your statement is no understatement.
yeah its disturbing that he played a nun!
@@hughjazzole2037 Letterman played a nun ????? WOW
She was 50ish here
I just love her! She’s so talented and so down to earth.
Down to earth ? Not Hardly
Born in the same hospital as me. I know no one cares; just thinking out loud.
She’s adorable……always was, always will be.
America's sweetheart, Sally Field.
She is off the charts beautiful in this segment. Didn’t realize she was so tiny. Dave is a master at his craft. The “say no more” quip was perfect and looked like it embarrassed her a little bit but she’s a pro and just kept up. Awesome to see these 2 go back n forth. Lmao. But Sally Field, wow!
Her performance in ER will stay with me for ever. Shs is so precious.
She was terrific in that role. So was Maura Tierney as Abby.
Sally is 76 now.
She still looks very good.
Dave had two interview modes: fawning admiration and snarky contempt.
I’ve had an almost 60 year crush on this beautiful woman! So talented, so beautiful! 😊
So Adorable, Cute, and Beautiful, Not to mention an incredibly gifted Actress.
Just saw 80 for Brady & Sally Field is still adorable and an excellent actress!
This reconfirms my undying love for this woman.
How sweet! All these lovely comments about Sally Field, love it!
One of America's early media sweethearts, going back to Gidget and The Flying Nun. Her acting range has been solid, showcased in such dramatic roles as Sybil and Norma Rae.
in '95 I would have been 29 (most of the year). If she had asked me out (I am and would have been too shy to ask her) I would have said "yes" in a heartbeat. She seems pretty great in every facet a person could want.
Sally is such a great actress, makes her roles so believable, She's played on do many great movies.
Sally Field and Karen Valentine were the cutest women on TV during the late 60s and early 70s.
She was nearly 50 here!? Stunning, always
@@Donmoen06 Wow, you sound just like you did on TV!
That was real beauty. Those were the days.
The definition of charming. What a natural beauty,
I had to rewind her demonstration of how her feet didn't touch the ground. That was hilarious.
Sally's so genuine, sweet and beautiful!
that john wayne story is gold
she always had great energy about her, kind of person you want to be around with.
From age 7 to 10, during the first airing of the Flying Nun, I was absolutely smitten by Sally Field. I never got over it.
Breathtakingly beautiful even more so than in the 70's
I can't believe that I am the same age as old people!
I watched her in "Mrs doubtfire" and "Forrest Gump" growing up. Never thought the day would come when I found Forrest Gump's mom attractive, but hey she looks pretty damn good to my 23 year old eyes.
Dave's comment about the Flying Nun flying around to fight crime. Was a classic!
I saw her in person a few years ago-just breath taking !
Lovely woman
If you were a teen male in the ‘60’s watching the flying nun back in the day, she was your TV crush. Now you’re 60+, and she’s still the girl of your dreams. 😜😍🇨🇦
Always a favorite.... I remember going to basic training in 1974.,... and I got off the plane in LA for a layover and went outside to meet my great aunts who lived near there... and while I was waiting, there was this yellow Jaguar... brilliant yellow.. and I saw this pretty girl from a distance, move around the car and get into the drivers seat and make a u turn... I got to the street by then and saw her front plate... 'SALLY'....
Oh my God, a yellow Jag??!! Doesn't surprise me at all though--she must've looked like a dream in it!
@@Marcus_C51 I was gob smacked... She was just so beautiful in person and yes... that yellow Jag was like a star on a Christmas tree... She is still just as beautiful as she was then it seems...
@@drmorqWarrenProject Yes, she is what 70 now and still looks great! Wonderful personality, smart and funny too. I love pretty women in nice cars, my future girlfriend used to drive into our work parking lot in a tricked out green Pontiac Firebird. She had her hair long then and looked a little like Mary Tyler Moore in the intro to her show. Stunning. When we got together, she then cut her hair like it seems every woman I've ever been in a relationship with does (apparently I have still issues with that-ha ha) and then bought this yellow Chevy. Couldn't miss it from a mile away! But I've never seen a yellow Jag...what a vision she must've been...
@@Marcus_C51 I believe she is 10 years older than I am.... MTM was a lovely lady back in the day.... and those legs??? to die for...
the yellow Jag... was almost neon it was so bright and yellow... I often wondered if it was a custom paint job...
@@drmorqWarrenProject MTM's legs---oh yes. gorgeous!
No wonder Burt Reynolds was head over heels for her.
What a jewel she is. Yes please, give us more like her.
If she were a president, she would be Baberham Lincoln.
Garth, you're gonna make me hurl.
@@trekkiejunk No way! She's a major babe! Party on.
Forgotten and grossly underrated performer.
Love Sally Field!♥️
There is only one word to describe her at that time...deeeeeeeelicious
She really is beautiful and spirited, and seductive without trying. Even Dave is obviously enchanted. I can see why Burt Reynolds always considered her his best and most missed love.
Dave Letterman, national TV interviewer: "How was the weather, growing up? Mild? Snowy?" TAKE THAT DAVEY LOLLL YOU EARNED IT
I do love Sally Field. She was cute and funny and just so lovable !!
My God, I still think to this day she is one of the most beautiful women that has ever lived. Naturally beautiful. Not 50 pounds of make up beautiful. There is just something about her and her carefree, yet classy nature that is so appealing. She is 76 years old now and I’m in my mid 40s and I would date her in a heartbeat. She still looks incredible and it’s her personality that makes her so damn attractive.
She exemplifies the perfect woman. Her mix of sexy, humor, realness, quirky ness and charm is unmatched in Hollywood IMO. There will never be another.
At around 10 yrs old, I loved the Flying Nun....She's adorable.
My granddaughter loved Gidget soooo much that we now call her Gidget, she is 23 yrs old. 🥰 Love Sally Field 🥰
A actual real interview. A little bit awkward but that’s ok. Love both of them
That's called flirting. That was major flirting.
Not awkward. You may be projecting.
@@ItsaDaPope-a No, there was some awkwardness at the beginning. Dave needed a minute to get his footing. The weather opening, repeating a question from their previous interview . . .
Sally and Tom Hanks were in "Punchline" together in 1987-88, six years before "Forest Gump."
I think her successful transition to the big screen was the critically acclaimed TV movie Sybil.
They Love me, they really love me.
I've had a crush on this woman for 40+ years...to this very day.
My GOD I love this woman...so cute, beautiful, smart, and talented...Gidget and Norma Rae and Edna Spalding all in one person. And on top of all that, she throws one MEAN snowball!
She's just so cute here. Loved her on Johnny Carson too.
Loved Gidget! Ran home from high school just to watch the show! She is my favorite actress!
I don’t judge people by their looks anymore, personality is what I look for
it's hard to watch sally field and not smile, she is such a sweetheart and so funny
What a beauty. A fun interview.
She's 49 here. Amazing.
Shes such a down to earth person...has always looked great IMO, even now...her personality is the sexy part, you can tell she's fun in a lot of ways
I met Sally in person in NYC. She's a beauty!
I saw her in An Eye For An Eye and I was totally floored. She said the "F" world to Joe Montenga when they were exchanging obscenities. I was traumatised. It was like hearing my grandmother say the "F" word. It just didn't seem right.
shes always been a looker, just class and humor too.
Wow, now I didn't watch a ton of her movies but I never remember Sally Fields being this hot. She is absolutely lovely. And almost 50 here according to others. Limitless money helps people age pretty well, but still. What a beautiful lady.
She was and is amazing in all ways.
She was 48?!!! Amazing. I don't think a woman could possibly be more attractive.
@@Donmoen06 contact with him? creeper.
Longer legs, a la Barbara Feldon.
Sally is just shy of 50 here....what a stunner
She's almost 50 years old here. So pretty.
As a kid I was in love with the flying nun - she was so beautiful - then I moved onto Jeanie and I did Dream of Jeannie - now older, both are such beautiful women - I guess as a kid I recognized natural beauty at an early age!
Incredible, approximately 76 years old in 2023
Where does the time go....
R.I.P. beautiful lady
She's still alive!
The 2nd Golden Globes was in 1944. I think she meant the 25th Globes which is where Hoffman won that award.
I think that she meant it was the 2nd one held at the 'coconut grove'.
Is this the height of her beauty? She looks fantastic here.
The things she did for Forrest.....O my...
She got better looking every year that went by. Burt was a lucky dog.
She looks amazing here and still holds up today. What a smile. Reminds me of Julia Louis Dreyfus. Same charm and approachable demeanour.
Dave looking confused as Sally Field talks about people looking up her dress at the second ever Golden Globes award being the high point of her life.
She's just too cute. Burt Reynolds must have had him a great time with her.
Sally is only 10 years older than Tom Hanks, which really makes her a great actress to have pulled off child birth at only 10 years old!
Make up makes you older.
True.
@@robertdouglas8895
She's so lovely.
She has got IT....what is IT? Such a lovely woman, talented, witty, beautifull good looks, come on...I guess if ever have had the chance to meet her, I'd be just as excited as Dave..and she is honest no bs...so that's good!!
Stunning woman. Funny and smart.
I always remember Burt Reynolds to his dying day always said Sally Field was the only true Love of his Life.
AT THE TIME THIS WAS AIRED O'l BURT REYNOLDS WAS PROBABLY AT HOME WATCHING WITH TEARS
STREAMING DOWN. THINKIN "WHY DID I LET HER GET AWAY, HOW COULD I BLOW A WONDERFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH HER"
Burt Reynolds almost married her on during their time together during "Smokey & The Bandit".
Was this an interview or a date? The flirting and sexual tension could be cut with a knife.
It's due to folks not having corks up their arses back then.
She Is Wonderful.
Sally Fields in the movies "Sybil" and "Forest Gump". Great movies and performances.
And Norma Rae for which she won an Oscar.
What a great guest. Not many as interesting as Sally Field.
Golden Globes hasn't posted this video of Sally flying into John Wayne and giving Dustin Hoffman an award for The Graduate?
Loved on her Dating Game appearance also. Down to earth and "real"
I can totally understand Burt Reynolds' feelings about this lady. Pure class and man, hard to believe she was 49 here.
Her beauty and talent are frightening.
What a lovely lady. All class.
