I think Chris Pine saved this interview. Notice how she opened up more after he gently "took over" as the interviewer. Graham is an amazing host, but his specialty is asking questions that will lead to a surprise punchline, and Sally knew that. See how she was hesitant to answer his first questions? She was afraid she was being set up. But when Chris stepped in and asked her a simple question clealy without any intent behind it and she relaxed. Good instincts.

Unhinged is also used to describe someone having been more than surprised, shocked, or a mixture of either with intrigue. This is the effective was going for. But instead of using more words, I summarized with unhinged. Burly was used in the same way. With the common knowledge that historically society leans towards men, especially famous men, being "manly", I used burly to summarize many words into one. In other words, these more than grown men were captivated this tiny lady. It's a simply put sentence but It's just not as extreme, and it doesn't express what I wanted.

A lot of men may miss their moms and love them; however, they tend to keep themselves from feeling too much overwhelming emotion and therefore, they don't really question their lives based on the absence of their mother. I also realize that many people in general have never had a good connection with their mothers. Even though, sometimes, that negative connection can still lead to questioning everything. A truly remarkable woman. Bravo Sally.

I watched her in 'Sybil' and it was a mesmerising performance. It was the first time I became aware of multiple personalities, and it shook me to my roots. Her handling of it was, I thought at the time, amazing and perceptive, but sadly it seems that traumatic experience in her own life was maybe part of that portrayal. If it helped her cope with and understand her own experiences then I'm so pleased. She certainly did that film justice. I've never forgotten it.

And most of them feel a lot more comfortable on his couch than on my american shows. Because it's a gathering. We see more of the personnalities a tad. Some egos also.
But if Graham wouldn't have let it happen and withdrawn himself from the conversation, this moment wouldn't have happened. But Chris Pine and Rami Malek, two youngish men (they older of the two of them more accomplished, but the younger one is fresh off his greatest work to date) are sitting there listening attentively, engaged with the story of a 70 year old woman, something the maga-world couldn't imagine.
Pine actually asks the question that gets her started, facilitating the show and Fields' story; I hope Norton thought to thank him for that.
The only bummer is that Malek is out of frame for much of the story, too bad someone didn't think to get reaction shots from him like they did with Pine.
Though Chris Pine, as the typical leading man, looks like the ideals of the old that Sally was damaged by, and thus he represents the new--even as Rami embodies it more.

So many actors find acting the best way to cope with their demons. Most seem to use it to run away, pretending to be someone else is just a relief.

I love that Sally deflected the 'speeches' compliment with a joke. 😂💖
She's extremely relatable, charming and has such strength inside her.
This is a GREAT conversation about ***Life*** not just Acting.
I just heard her speech at the SAG awards. Sally is an inspirational human to so many people.
    She does give heartfelt speeches.

Sally fields, you are just the greatest, no matter what year it has been, or character you've played. Or what movie you've been in your character as always shined. That is why all of America loves you. Thank you for everything you've done
