For anyone struggling to make the original rings and the bleeding issue/little lines inside the rings, I finally tried just drawing the original ring with my finger vs. the pencil.. totally did the trick. After that, I was able to follow the instructions to fill in the gaps like she was showing without any issues. Hope that helps someone.
Part of the solution for the little lines issue, is to make sure you that when you go to move the color into the shape you just made, you don't let up (pen or finger), and drag across the canvas Left and Right (usually right) until those little lines are filled. It happens just before the canvas wants to fill in its entirety. A way to check that it's full (and finish it if it's not), is to select the selection tool (deselect first if it's already lit), then use Automatic. Drag across shape to the right or to the left and you can adjust the fill.
I'm enjoying this series. I've been drawing in Procreate for a few months now. I'm glad I found this early on. The fact that this is beginner material speaks to how loaded Procreate is. Thank you again! ❤

currently following along. Some things don't seem to work the way demonstrated. For instance, in the section about using the Selection tool to select the rings - it worked to tilt the rings, but once there, I cannot get it to select the 'inner ring". Nor can I get it to select the planet, after going to that layer, in order to go back to the rings layer and erase only what's behind the planet. I'm selecting exactly what is being demo'd, so I really don't understand why it's not working. I'm going to continue trying to follow along. If there's a reason for this behavior in the app, please advise. I have everything set the way the demo says.
Same here. I'm stuck at the selection step. I can only select two rings at once, not separately. Also, when I select the planet, I don’t see any diagonal lines either…

We have to use the distort option under transform to move the rings in the horizontal surface. In video there is some error as the freeform option doesn't work that way.
