We re not talking about damage types - but about skill gem. Phys impaler is the best choice when we use a slayer for the base type as a stater. But it is just the beging of flicker journey. U can fly through the maps till t16 faster then others, get things and buy or craft eq. Then spec to elemental flicker. But phys flicker starter is strongest.
Vaal Flicker has a really bad bug if you are doing impale and use it while mapping. For some reason the game crashes, and if you get in, the map is gone and the map device gets bricked, and you can't use it unless you completely change your hideout. Don't get me wrong, it's incredibly fun using impale Vaal Flicker, and then 1 shooting bosses, but this is annoying as heck.
I'm doing oro flicker strike and i am at 5 tier maps now, its super good, the league mechanic isnt the best for flicker but its doable with some doging and help of totems who have decent dmg on 5 link, i hope later i wont be forced to change my build
I league started a very similar build but raider instead (flicker impale with Terminus Est). So I basically played lvl 1-71 as dual strike. Flicker felt so bad against rares and the league mechanic. Gonna re-start with ice trap.

Flicker one of fhe best skills for this content. I say same to "ten frenzy guy". Don't try just click flicker and push guards - look at the animation. It's a very simple series of monster skills with a huge time windows for your dps. By the way - such as Blight this content not about dps, it is about taktic in room and strategy cross the floor. First and second floor u rushing like lightning bolt without any damage to u. Leap slam and it's stun effects is your best friend to interrupt some animation and kill monster then. In our guild just one guy do it faster then my flicker, but its overgrared EK
Think need to say one more thing. Before spec to flicker it was the boneshatter. That was nice in sanctum too. So much hype around "melee can't this, please fix', but that is not truth. Just try to do it a little bit slowler - watch at monster attack, learn it. U will understand how strong other melee builds in this content. With boneshatter i complite just 1-2 flore. After spec to flicker, can complete it all from the fisrt, till the end of my tried at the and of the day without resolve expire.
to be honest you make flickerstrike so effortless i tried flickerstrike last league (again) with an investment of like 35 divs the only thing that was different i couldnt hit good block chance on my shield

you can see it at PoB Community Fork but as far as I know as you are doing flicker strike you are close to the target and the strike range is for let you attack/use the skill on a target so as fast as you press the skill it teleports you to the target and hit it at range 0. The more range you stack the more far you can target and teleport to an enemy.

I was thinking about investing in replica and doing the flicker build. But I think playing flicker current league will be pointless because of the mechanics so may as well switch to the cyclone or try some caster or necro build
Honestly, playing flicker oro's is not bad with league mechanic. You just need to kill stuff fast. If you don't then you just flicker strike a few times, and then literally walk away to let them attack, and then go again. Haven't finished a single sanctum (don't even bother with it too much really, cuz the rewards sucks balls), but have been to lvl 3.
So other than flicker being aids for the league mechanic what did you think of it during normal progression? I'm thinking about playing it as my 2nd character and just using a chest swap to use cyclone for sanctum instead of a full respec
TBH i am crushing sanctum with flicker you just need to stop pressing the flicker button to evade obvious attacks also i play the elemental variant with oro

My next question is what is the upgrade path for something like the terminus version? do we go golden rule bleed stuff to be able to get a higher dps weapon? or is there some other thing that im missing to really push it into the upper tier of dps

I happen to also be playing flicker strike and something i noticed is that the Tribal Fury notable no longer gives you melee splash.
Sound sussy, if this is bug they will fix it, surely COPIUM

It's on the mastery now. so tech you don't have to get tribal fury. it's in the Attack Mastery. also the same mastery for tribal fury

its not an impale thing its a vaal flicker thing. keep it to single targets as much as you can and it wont be an issue,

Used flicker straight from 28 , there wasnt a problem of frenzy sustain, also frenzy on bosses was pretty fast

Can someone tell me if the +melee strike range counteract with the close combat support gem? Since close combat does damage based on proximity.
