    Curiosity about the CEO, Jamie Dimon, led me to read:

    While I don't always agree with things Jamie Dimon says, I do find him interesting and more accessible as a person than other CEOs.

    NYC skycrappers are so beautiful and glamorous and they fit the city perfectly.
    They don't look tacky or cheap like in other countries.

    Well now we know why they are going to start charging customers for their checking accounts. Gotta pay for this build somehow.

    I wonder if they used building commissioning to make sure the building can be easily repaired and maintained

      As someone that isn't that comfortable with heights, I can't imagine what maintaining these giant towers are like. Now I'm curious...

    I don’t live in New York City but I’ve always liked the city. Some of the new buildings are OK others I think are getting out of control especially when it comes to viewing like the one building that’s blocking the Empire State building if you have a view from fifth Avenue street level looking north near the flat iron building.

      It's so true, they don't build with any regard to preserving iconic buildings in the skyline. I recently realized the Bank of America building at Bryant Park and One Vanderbilt Summit Building, their tops looks very similar. I tend to mix them up. Thanks for stopping by!

    Crazy time to be building in Manhatten with Biden in the White House . Everyones leaving Manhatten .

    • @WELVAS.
      @WELVAS. Месяц назад

      Except everyone's not leaving Manhattan. Some did leave but keep in mind there is a lot of demand for space in NYC. Companies also prefer newer office space that's their own. Also what does Biden have to do with NYC? He is irrelevant to such a big city as is any president

    Modern skyscrapers are boring to look at. They’re just nothing but glass. IMO, Woolworth building in lower Manhattan is THE most beautiful building with great architecture.

    • @JebusSlowWalks
      @JebusSlowWalks  14 дней назад

      My favorite skyscrapers are the old ones: Woolworth, Empire, Chrysler. It'd be nice if they can make a skyscraper with masonry on the outside again but that probably will never happen. It makes me sad how they don't respect our iconic budlings. Right next to the Woolworth there's a tall residential building ruins the view. We went on a tour of the Woolworth building (only the lobby and the lower level) a few years ago, the inside is gorgeous. I was surprised I didn't mind the new Chase building and the Rose Hill one in NoMad but that's only because they're Art Deco inspired. Thanks for your comment and stopping by!

    I don't get all these delights this building gets. It's out of scale, out of proportions and it's another glass covered skyscraper.

    • @JebusSlowWalks
      @JebusSlowWalks  Месяц назад

      Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your opinion. That's how I normally feel, it's the Art Deco vibe doing it for me. There really are too many giant glass towers here.

      Because there’s finally a tall skyscraper getting built. Most of the tall skyscrapers have been canceled or halted. Like for example, Jeddah tower.

    • @stewiewonder2601
      @stewiewonder2601 Месяц назад +1

      @@idk-cb8di I don't quite understand the comparison with Saudi Arabia, where so far none of the announced projects have been built yet. In New York, it is not surprising that projects are being realized. What is more surprising is their quality or location, with a lack of respect for iconic buildings like the Empire State Building or the Chrysler Building.
