This man has the mental maturity of a 13 yo. The fact that he he lost his job over this is a blessing. So that he did not have a chance to get someone hurt. The fact that he was a cop is crazy.
You are right. Unfortunately a large portion of police get into the profession because of the notoriety of being a police officer as well as the fact many have power and control issues and like to feel they are in a position of superiority over others.. not because they want to protect and serve. The reason we have so many problems with the police in our country is that we dont have good enough psychological testing standards for those applying.
My thoughts exactly. As an ex cop... I’m glad this Happened. Sometimes things happen for a reason. His mental maturity and mindset is astonishing and he shouldn’t be a cop anyway. Even if he hadn’t done that he shouldn’t be carrying a gun and badge. He seems dangerous and incompetent.

Sage advice, sadly forgotten in his desperation; As the longer he rambled, especially after 'pegging' who he thought the 'concerned citizen' was, and decided to verbally demean them to an officer, and whilst forgetting there were TWO separate, completely independent calls, reports, he was SO self absorbed in trying to proclaim his 'innocence' that he failed to recognize that he sounded even more and more guilty....kept digging that hole, and kept asking the officers for even bigger and bigger shovels! The local charges were dropped when it was picked up federally. He was arrested again for the federal charge when he showed up to court. He and his lawyer tried claiming he doesn’t remember anything that happened on the day in the video until he was arrested and in the cop car. The lawyer said he has PTSD from trying to help a woman who’d been hit by a train and the medications he was on effected his judgment. The lawyer requested a psych eval and the judge ruled him sane. I believe he then changed his plea from not guilty to guilty. He’s supposed to be sentenced in September.
Great update, and it tracks with what he revealed. I don't buy the PTSD excusse for non combat situations most of the time..but it can happen. Regardless his lawyer is earning his money on this one. The great mystery here isn't that he faked being a US Marshall. It's that he ever managed getting hired as a police in the first place. Washingtonville must not require a psych eval for hiring. But then Ohio has no statute requiring it. So there's that.
Wow no pysch!! Here you have to go through several, all the background checks, they contact your former and current partners, employers, family ect and interview them all about you. Same process for a firearms licence here

No education, misdemeanor arrests, traffic violations, tattoos, beards, painted fingernails, pony tails, bracelets, crappy uniforms…. The list goes on. He had a PTSD diagnosis in 2019 due to being a first responder in a fatal train accident. Malik was on several medications that would have impacted his judgment in the impersonation incident.
I love his tactic of "Looks like I'm getting arrested, better tell these strangers my entire life story up until this point including private highly personal details about my ex, finances, love life and basically anything else I can think of"
This story is actually sad as hell if you read into it, and I encourage people not to judge him too harshly like I did before hearing it. The dude saved a man back in 2019 from a train accident but failed to save the man’s wife, who died in front of him as he was attempting to save her. The incident led to him developing severe PTSD, depression, and anxiety, and at the time of the this arrest was seeing a psychologist who had spent the 3 years prior trying to figure out a concoction of prescriptions that would help him. Point being, the dude wasn’t in his right mind and while he shouldn’t have continued being a cop, I do think having some empathy for the situation is warranted. Man was going through trauma after doing something extremely heroic and selfless and he was having trouble recovering from it.
@valerie3632 I wondered the same thing. I guess there's grey in everything though. Very sad to hear this, if it's true. I hope he gets the help he needs.

So my suspicion has doubled.

I mean literally the whole time he just dug and dug himself deeper. Making these people that are dealing with him so grateful to be out of his presence. This guy is something special. As someone else already pointed out he passed all the exams and psych tests to become a cop!! How?!!
People In every job in America have problems. No "psych exam" can prevent every single person from doing crazy stuff. Doctors lie and steal, lawyers lie and steal, politicians, bankers, whatever. It is always going to happen in a certain percentage.
When i was a teenager, i was nabbed by someone impersonating a cop. He 'detained' me. Proceeded to put me in cuffs. And walked me home. My dad answered the door. Immediately knew something wasnt right. My dad called the real cops. And turned out the guy escaped from the looney bin.

I think he means that there are certain odd people who impersonate cops - but obviously never get to really become one - hopefully failing the psych tests - that this guy is what happens when the psych tests fail and these weirdos get to be a cop! So he gets asked to resign (due to poor performance) from a city of 1,800 that is 1.5 miles from the city of 800 that then hired him as a part time officer? @theinfidel6301 Not after this. He got a part time LEO job after being let go from his former full time position. He was part time in Washingtonville when this video took place
I'm guessing this guy only gets into departments so desperate they hire anyone who meets the minimum standards. No way a group with the luxury of being selective is taking him.
Someone else said he’d been fired from a full time position at a different agency before being hired part time for Washingtonville. My guess, he could get a small agency to take him part time but the Marshal’s won’t because he was previously fired.
(WKBN) - A local former officer has been found guilty of impersonating a U.S. Marshal. Former Washingtonville Police Officer Logan Malik was charged 13 months ago. He was arrested after workers at several Boardman businesses complained that he told them he was a U.S. Marshal. He was fired from his real job the next day. Local charges against him were dismissed in lieu of the federal charges. Malik rejected a plea offer and chose to go to trial in the case. His attorney requested a mental evaluation in December stating that Malik he suffers from mental health issues, specifically a PTSD diagnosis in 2019 due to being a first responder in a fatal train accident in Leetonia, court filings stated. The request stated that due to the PTSD diagnosis, Malik was on several medications that would have impacted his judgment in the impersonation incident. However, Malik was deemed competent to stand trial in April 2023 and a trial date was set. The trial took place this week in Cleveland Federal Court. Malik will be sentenced in September.

I'm sorry my dictation at that moment wasn't up to snuff for you. I don't tend to put that much effort into YT comments or care much about likes, but thanks for noticing for me.
@@IrishBog yes, that is exactly what I meant, but I didn't care to put that much effort into this silly video.
The person(s) responsible for hiring this man to be a police officer need to be investigated
Becoming a federal marshall is easy all you need is 4 years in law enforcement, security, or corrections
@@whitecat6321 Having a military background helps too I believe.
@@whitecat6321you need a 4 year degree or you need 100 points, combination of school, police Military experience. But must add up to 100 points

Agreed, frankly he comes across as a real dick and the last person who should wield police powers over the public. Scary he got through!
The cops bantering while he is in the back of the cop car talking though the bars is incredible 😂
2 character traits that make me certain he is guilty:
1) he never stops talking
2) he makes small unconscious statements and requests in order to feel a sense of power and control
Exactly what I was thinking... his strategy was to "bond" with them with the 200 stories thinking they'll perceive him as a good guy. Can tell he's pretty manipulative
His hands were also trembling
U looking too deep into it bruh he just weird has fuc n has no social skills
@@WestCoastTruckingCEO Definitely manipulative and people still wonder how they slip through the cracks during the psychological portion of testing.
He just sounds like he's in a benzo blackout and has delusions of sobriety.
HOW IN THE HELL IS HE A COP???!!!😳😳😳🤯🤯🤯 How did he pass the psychological test???!! Holy hell this kid is SPECIAL!! Bless his heart!!!
The lady PO even calls him a “kid” around 4:00 😂 truly mindblowing! 🤯🤯🤯
I'm sorry, did you think they had high standards for beat-cops??? If they had better hiring and transfer policies some people wouldn't be on the street protesting for Exactly That ...Police Reform
You do know that they seek out people with low IQs? Don't believe me, Google it. They don't seek out people capable of thought they seek out control freak sociopaths.
@@Anatta-Phi VERY TRUE! As a Minneapolis resident that still sees the grocery stores, police stations, and gas stations burnt down from the Floyd riots… I definitely know about the low bar.
How is that short fat lady a cop too?!?! I mean...not trolling but...
Officer: "You have the right to remain silent. You don't have to talk"
Fake Marshall: "Yes, but,"
Wonder how many times he used that addendum after telling suspects of their rights?? Never, I'm sure.
Was wondering is this is "Dewitt's" brother....🤣😅🤣😅
Bro holds no secrets!
I lied to you, but I'll never lie to you. 😂😂
He’s a cop and he doesn’t know the right to remain silent! My god, he doesn’t ever shut up!! She’s giving him nonchalant answers, how does he notice, she doesn’t give AF!! My head is spinning, I can imagine hers. 🤯
drugs
He's psychologically unstable, he has mental illness.
The biggest complaint I get from girlfriends, I don't talk enough. I'm quiet unless I have something to say, which is rare.
And this guy is the reason. Virtually nothing he said was worth hearing.
Ok, back to being quiet again...
😂😂😂
How did this guy ever pass the psych test to be a cop in the first place? He’s a mess!
Do they even have such a test?
@@jennylee9278 dealing with you or one of your family members wouldn't you want such a test to be required..?
As long as you know what to say then you're good.

@@jennylee9278yes. There is such a test.
So he gets asked to resign (due to poor performance) from a city of 1,800 that is 1.5 miles from the city of 800 that then hired him as a part time officer?
Does no one in Washingtonville own a phone they could use to make a phone call to a town 1.5 miles away? Hell, they could walk there and check his references
It's a big club and you ain't in it.
This is why you fire them and pay the unemploymen also mark them as not rehirable.
Ya, they don't care ...
Is that true? He got another job after this?
@theinfidel6301
Not after this. He got a part time LEO job after being let go from his former full time position. He was part time in Washingtonville when this video took place
Even with hand cuffs on and in the back of a police car, he’s still trying to impersonate an officer. 🤦🏾♀️
"Its not my case"
Why not just try and apply for a federal job first? lol
I'm guessing this guy only gets into departments so desperate they hire anyone who meets the minimum standards. No way a group with the luxury of being selective is taking him.
He was pretending to be a Marshall because the badge wasn’t getting him any girls. Look how he was talking to the female officer lmao
@@zachorians1069 🤣
Could you let us know what the sentence then was? After September.
@@der-grashuepfer sure it's September 28
@@der-grashuepferwell since they didn't get back, I'll just repeat what I saw another commenter say, so based on what they said he got 30 days in jail and $1000 fine apparently/supposedly
