    Nate, you are the reason I took piano up again after decades of wishing I hadn't stopped as a rebellious teen. I've almost conquered Vienna, and after Desperado, I'm going to tackle Easy.
    I follow 9 or 10 piano channels but you are the very best out there, and I so often forward your videos... even to non-musicians, who love them too 😊
    My little girls have also just started playing, and as soon as they're ready, I'm going to introduce them to some of your simpler videos. Perhaps you could post a manageable video for younger players who are just getting into listening to (and playing) music?
    Keep doing what you do.
    You are so gifted and have a brilliant teaching style. Your videos are like musical Prozac. ❤

    Nate, have you ever considered transcribing your renditions to sheet music? The lyrics/lead sheets are great, but I end up forgetting small details that can't be captured in that format. I understand it's likely more work, but just a thought! Thanks for everything, this is such a great song

    I have tiny, tiny hands. Other than just playing one note with your left hand, is there a better alternative? My thumb and pinky are 180 degrees from each other when I attempt octaves so it's not about not being able to stretch out. Would it sound as good to play the first and sixth or something like that? I also want to learn "Don't Stop Believing" but it has tons of octaves. 😭 Thanks!

    • @johnedwardpiano

    • @PianowithNate
      @PianowithNate  Месяц назад +2

      Hi! It depends on the song...for many, this one included, I think single bass notes sound great. In fact, I debated whether to do octaves or single bass notes for this one...it isnt totally obvious from the recording what the left hand of the piano is doing as the electric bass is more prominent. In general, 5ths are a good bet if you need a bit more power or rhythmic potential from the left hand. I'd advise against 6ths unless that is how the song is composed...in most cases it will introduce new notes/harmonic information that doesnt belong and changes the sound too much.

    • @johnedwardpiano
      @johnedwardpiano Месяц назад

      I agree. I use single bass notes often as I haven't mastered octaves yet@@PianowithNate
