  • The National Hurricane Center has decreased the chances of development for a tropical wave located south of the Dominican Republic and Haiti. It is projected to continue its path towards Belize and the Yucatán Peninsula.
On the other hand, there are two tropical waves between the Caribbean and Africa with low chances of development. The University of Colorado projects that the upcoming weeks will be inactive, but this could change by the end of September.

Speaking as someone from New Orleans who lived thru Katrina and Ida, people who wish for hurricanes are gross.

I read that the hot, moist equatorial African air is moving northward instead of moving West into the Atlantic, and will cause quite a bit of rain in the Sahara.
