    I have a XC60 B5 .. (May2024 model ) i drove 210miles in early August ( longest journey so far) and over the journey i stopped 2 times as i am disabled . There were two of us in the car plus two suitcases and a couple of bags . I got 49.5mpg (sorry dont know kilometers ) .. I did ask volvo to check the car electrics out as i found 49.5mpg way above what it should do ,but after i picked it back up from the garage they said all checked out correct. Thats 49.5mpg averaging about 60mph from a two litre petrol engine . To me thats great ,very happy .. Just as a note i live on Anglesey North Wales , pottering about i get an average of 37-38mpg still good with all the slower traffic ie 30mph average .. Robert

    Just drove my 2024 T6 Recharge (Black Edition) from Luxembourg to Portugal and back. 4 adults, fully laden, a lot of driving at 130 km/hr. Started with a full battery and charged twice. 5,400 km - 8.1 l/100 km. Not bad. It did feel like I was filling it up a lot more than the B4 diesel it replaced though!

    Always great to watch your video's, very informative, keep them coming! Also love the colour on this car by the way. Expect my XC60 T8 Ultra Black Edition in November, can't wait!

    Our latest trip with our T6 MY24 was comfortable, smooth and with quite acceptable consumption figures (we chose to “keep” some battery so to be able to remotely cool it up with the app, as we’ve been driving around areas with 40+ °C temperatures)
    The “only” issue was with the damn software… the last 300km the car decided that it had no signal (we had to use Bluetooth data sharing for navigation), added to the continuous failures in the system (it freezes, reloads, takes ages to start, which also implies time for the AC to start (one of the times I had to jump in before my baby did so to cool the car it was at 48°C), failures to open the doors…)
    Volvo admits the software is responsible for all of that, but managed just to upgrade the software (it took around 2 hours at the dealership) for no good (well, now the driver’s screen goes blank in reverse for some sort of weird reason and the 360cameras work even worse…
    I love the car, love the engine and even accept the lazy gearbox (it matches 95% of my driving needs as is, so no complaints there)….But the sw quality and reliability is just unacceptable for a 70+k€ car 😢

    I have PHEV V90 T8 - like others I manage the battery myself rather than leave it to the car to manage to ensure I've got some battery left for the slower city roads near home and if I meet any very slow traffic on the UK motorways. On a recent 200 mile journey I got around 55mpg (5.2l per 100km) - it used around 75% of my battery (range when full, 49 miles in this warmer summer weather).

    How is the hybrid mode in the XC60? Because this mode sucks in the Lynk&Co. It just drives electric till the battery is dead and then it doesn’t charge that much anymore. It’s much more efficiënt to switch modes by myself.
    Today I had a trip of about 300km. Had an average of 22km/L and still got 48km of electric range. And this was fully packed

    Rumor is that XC90 MY25.5 is a facelift/refresh version with new interior and updated headlights, to be launched this September.
    Look forward to seeing it on this channel! 😊

    I refuse to find myself a looser with the EX30 , because I am not 😏, but what a beautiful car except its fuel consumption.....

    Hi Tom, i am considering the order of a T8 but have some unclear opinions about the charging speed. If i understand correctly, the new triple layer battery has 18.8kw and almost double range, but volvo has NOT upgraded the charging module. Means the car still charges at max 3.7 kw/h. Yet, volvo claims you can charge your car (depending on your system) between THREE and seven hours. Maths is not an opinion, so how can a car charging max speed 3,7 and refill 18,8 in three hours. Even of it was max speed all way to 100%, it would only get to around 14-15 kwh. Let me know as this is the only issue i can find with the car.

      According to volvo manual, the car can charge up to 7kw (6.4 netto), using “16A two phase cabling”. No idea what this means. New cable or special charging station?

    • @thom-lov
      @thom-lov  2 месяца назад +1

      @@Redsquirrel007 in germany you get the 6.4kw OBC (charger) which is a 2 phase 16ampere max input. Meaning you can charge it in about 3 hrs if your charger is able to do 6.4kw. 🙂

    Carrying the weight of the battery whether or not it is charged is an issue.

      Battery secures that you have always four wheel drive availlable. Even though it shows 0 kms, there is always 4 kWh reserve for AWD. If you have traditional AWD your car has 100-150 kgs extra weight to carry on.

    • @LysanderLH
      @LysanderLH 4 месяца назад

      @@jiikoo2000 Presumably the car does not always drive in AWD but activates it when needed. In normal driving conditions, that could be 20% of the time, so the battery is about the weight of a 90kg adult all the time and regardless of SOC and being driven in 2WD. Interesting.
