Hi. I am really enjoying your channel. I like that you don’t just do time lapse and explain your reasoning for how you do the puzzles. Thanks for great videos!
Hi, thank you so much, that’s really nice of you 🥰 I honestly appreciate the feedback as I was a bit worried that I rambled on too much 😂 my channel is really new, so I’m still getting a feel for all of this video creating and editing stuff.
Vicky, I love your format for your videos, just the right amount of information regarding the process. I also enjoyed the background music for this video. Perseverance to max for those curtains and black areas.
Oh gosh yes! The red curtains still make me shudder a wee bit 😆 I’m glad you enjoyed the music and like the balance of info and puzzling. That has been an important thing for me to get right, so it’s lovely to hear 🤩
hi vicky just binged watched your wonderful videos on the disney orchestra, love the cat issue , my puzzle has just arrived today WOOHOO , dont think ile do it as fast as you , lol ,keep up the brill videos xx
Hi! Yay! Thank you so much for watching them all - I’m so glad you love them. Yes, the cats were a cheeky pair - I couldn’t believe my luck getting the replacement pieces from Emma! Take your time and enjoy your puzz - it’s so fun to build, enjoy every minute ❤️
When I find two pieces already together in a puzzle over 1000 pieces I treat it as a “freebie” but otherwise I break them up! It’s so satisfying watching you build this!
I can understand that! If it’s a particularly challenging puzzle, I will definitely take all the help I can get 😁 Thank you, I’m so glad you find it satisfying 😍
Greetings from Helsinki, Finland! An older video, I know, but I really like the way that you are doing these videos, you clearly put a lot of effort into these. I like the breaks, I like the background music - it can't steal the show, but it adds a bit there - and I like the way you explain things.
Greetings!! Nice to meet you! I’m so glad you like the videos, and the format I follow with them. I really do appreciate your comment on that, as I do put a lot of effort into them, and it can be hard to get the balance right 😊.
Hello new subscriber here. I would take those already-assembled 2/3 pieces as bonus. :) This is my dream puzzle as well. Love the orchestra and Disney images.
@@Vickymakesandbuilds Will do 😀 I’m currently doing the 6000 piece Disney one that you wanna do. Been working on and off it for over two months now and probably half way now. Definitely the hardest puzzle I have ever done 🧩🥺 but I’m loving it 🥰
And returning to this six months later... I bought this too, I've never done anything even half this big. And your video for sure motivated me to do that :) Will take another 1-2 months before I can start though, but I'm very excited already! Oh, for the question "Do you separate them?", yes, I do. I use a knife to cut them apart. Merry Christmas Vicky :)
Thanks so much for posting this. I got this puzzle but am new to puzzling - I kind of didn’t anticipate how big and tricky it would be. Do you think it would be impossible for relative newbie to do? To answer your question, if pieces are together from the box, I pull them apart.
I don’t think it would be impossible at all. A puzzle this big is a first for me too. All in all I found that I had to get out of the 1000 piece puzzle mindset (that’s the size I usually do,) and remember that it is on a much larger scale. Sorting the pieces first is a must, then my advice would be to start with the characters’ faces. The rest just sort of comes together. The curtains are hard and you may have to shape sort on that bit - this is just sheer perseverance. If it becomes monotonous you can always do it in small doses and keep coming back to it. It is definitely doable for a newbie in my opinion. Lastly, I would say that you need to know practically if you have the space to do it. A 2000 piece section like this is about 1m long and around 75cm tall. You need a decent sized board or table - this was a challenge for me because I live in quite a small place, but with a little planning I managed it. Good luck - let me know your progress once you start! Ps. I also usually take together pieces apart too 😁
He he! Yes, red curtains haunted my existence for a while 🤣. Thank you! I have recently bought a shelf, which displays the puzzles rather nicely, but as my collection grows I will likely need to get a bigger shelf at some point 😍🧩
You’re most welcome! I’m so glad I’ve helped you decide to get it, it’s a fabulous puzzle - my favourite to date! I think I’ve seen the 9k map one, it looks very difficult. I’m sure you won’t have a problem with the Disney Orchestra - it’s very colourful, lots of different colourful sections you can work on (although that red curtain is a bit of a stinker!) 😆 thank you for watching 😍
When tackling an area that’s all one color like the black corner, I think it saves time to take one piece and try it in many places…all along the side edge for example. It may not fit yet, but you have 10 or 12 chances of getting a fit rather than picking up piece after piece to match into one spot.
Ha ha! Yes, I’m with you on that. Mostly I take them apart, but sometimes, if the puzzle is particularly tough, I just leave them and consider myself lucky for the help! 😍
I like the challenge of separating all the pieces, but it usually tears the cardboard more than I would like. I've had many puzzles where I lose the picture on the top of the knob that is connected.
Hi.I'm a sorter, edges first, 1000 is my highest. Thanks for sharing the time it took to sort. I keep pieces together from the factory. I wouldn't mix two bags with this being such a large puzzle, and honestly I can't imagine what it cost. A bag at a time. How long did Part A take you in total? I like how you share the experience. Black is horrible for me. I know piece x piece. On to the next 😊
Hiya! Thank you for watching 😍 I had to go back and look at my timings as I couldn’t remember how long it took 😆 It took me around 28 hours and was the section that took the longest to complete. Yes, the blacks and dark reds were a bit of a nightmare in this section. By the time I reached section C I was well used to the darker parts of the curtain, but on the first section of my first giant sized puzzle, it took me completely by surprise how hard it was 😊 I don’t mind mixing bags, it was a good challenge, the most I’ve done in one go is 9000 pieces now. However I did enjoy doing this one in the 2000 piece sections, as they were a good size for my table and for filming it. As far as sorting goes, I am genuinely not a fan, but I do love how smoothly the build goes once it’s done 😃
Hey Vicky! your video was so helpful and it really gave me the motivation to continue the first part of my puzzle!. The curtains were definitely the hardest part but i’ve got a problem!. I’ve finished section A of my puzzle and have one piece left but the piece doesn’t seem to fit. I’ve checked every single piece over again and they all fit nicely so i’m not sure where i went wrong. I don’t know what to do! any suggestions on what i should do? Thank you again for this video i’ve watched it at least 5 times ❤️❤️
Hi, that’s great that you have finished section A! I’m really glad that you have been enjoying the videos and found them to be helpful. Just to clarify, when you say you have one piece left, is it an extra piece or are you still missing a piece and the spare piece just doesn’t fit? If it’s an extra piece then it could belong to one of the other bags. If it is the latter, I’m not sure, would you be able to send me a picture? I have had to swap out pieces a few times because I’ve put them in wrong and not realised - they can be hard to spot though. Let me know which it is and I can try and help you more 😊
@@Vickymakesandbuilds Thank you so much! that’s so kind of you! where would you like me to send the picture?. I’m still missing a piece and my last piece doesn’t fit. It has the same shape as the missing section but just won’t fit :(
Ah ok. My email is on my about bit of my channel I think, but if you can’t find it let me know. If you send me a pic of both the gap and the piece I can try and compare it to mine. Believe it or not this exact thing happened to me recently on my last puzzle. I just had to swap two pieces around but it can be hard to spot the wrong piece if they are the same shape and similar colours 😊
@@Vickymakesandbuilds I can’t seem to find your email on the channel. It’s one of the darker pieces so a lot harder to find 😅 however there’s a slight red tinted line on the side of it so not impossible!

I have actually considered buying the puzzle again and doing just that! But I think what I will ultimately do is mix a different 13.2k puzzle instead 😍
@@Vickymakesandbuilds That is difficult enough already. I don’t know how you can find enough patience to then sort 13.2 k !!! I’m just « starting » puzzles, so I am doing a 3000 pieces, after several 1000 and 2000. It seems easy enough to do but so long to sort the pieces. So I hope I’ll be able to do the 4000 I bought too. If I can do it, then I could try a longer one in bags of less than 4 or 5 k. Not sure I could do a 6k though. Sorting is not at all my cup of tea either, so I kind of prefer smaller puzzles. The 60k’would be great, as it seems so easy. Who knows, when I have too much time.
I don't mean to be rude in my first comment on your channel - which I love, by the way, thank you - but I've done at least 20 different 1000 piece puzzles in my time, so does that mean I can claim to have done a 20,000 piece puzzle now? *_No, of course it doesn't!_* So ... does doing this as multiple, individual 2000 piece puzzles - which just happen to have edges that join up - really count as doing a 13,200 piece puzzle? Again, I don't want to be rude - or rain on your parade - but I really don't think it does... I mean ... Karen did the 9000 piece Minions puzzle, and I thought that was more impressive than when she did Life, because she bought the Minions one second hand, and consequently had to do it as one giant 9,000 piece puzzle, whereas the 24,000 piece puzzle was broken up into 4 different 6,000 piece puzzles (which was, admittedly, still pretty impressive). Anyway ... thanks for the great content! Keep up the great work...
I’m glad you love the channel, thank you for that and I’m pleased you enjoy the content 😍 I don’t think you are being rude - you aren’t the first to make this point, and I agree with it for the most part. I am challenging myself gradually with these giant puzzles - the Disney Orchestra was the first large piece count puzzle I had ever done and in order to embrace that particular challenge, I did a larger section and mixed two of the bags for one of the videos (part 2). At the time I thought that was about as big as I could go. My next single largest amount of pieces after this was a 6k Clementoni (Venice Sunset), which I honestly thought I would struggle to do in the limited space I had. I figured out a way though and that is what spurred me on to try mixing a 9k Ravensburger - see my vids on the Disney Museum puzzle for that 😃. I did feel a terrific sense of achievement from that, but I have since bought another 9k Ravensburger (Magical Dragon Forest) and I know for a fact that I won’t be mixing that one. I absolutely LOVE the image on that puzzle and just think I would enjoy it more building it in the sections than mixing. Now I’m a bit more confident with the biggies, I am toying with the idea of buying and mixing another (or maybe even the same) 13,200 piece Clementoni puzzle. For filming purposes though I think I would struggle to do much larger than that (although, if I ever got my hands on my dream 18k Ravensburger Star Wars puzzle, I might be persuaded to mix that one)! I hope you continue to enjoy my content - thanks for watching 😃
I think that’s just the way many giant puzzles are - a lot depends on the image, but because they are blown up so much, sometimes you get one area that just dominates a section. I’m prepared for that now, but this was my first large piece count puzzle and it took me a bit by surprise at the time 😆
