    • @MBABeginners

      Hi,
      I think the selection should be simple here. IIM Udaipur's DEM program is a specialization while SPJIMR offers General Management. So, you need to choose what you want to pursue.
      It is your choice and so your decision.

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Nikhil,
      It's not an executive MBA, but a 1-year full-time MBA.
      To answer your question with respect to the 1-year full-time MBA, yes, you will get opportunities to move into different roles within the same industry. In your experience, you can probably get into say, Product Manager or consultant-level positions, but roles defer in every company, but you will have multiple opportunities for sure.
      I hope this helps. Keep watching.

      Hi Ashwin,
      I have mentioned in the video itself (00:05:55 - 00:05:60 minute) that the list of B-schools that I showed is not exhaustive, which means all the B-schools across India aren't covered.
      The B-schools that are in the FT ranking are shown in a sequence but other B-schools do not follow any sequence, so it is on the candidate's analysis to choose any B-school across the country he/she finds better.
      Also, the purpose of this video is only to tell the aspirants about 1-year full-time MBA program, not to tell which B-school is better. Of course, there are many good B-schools across the country that a candidate finds better than the ones shown in this list, it's an individual choice.
      I hope this helps. Keep watching.

      My sincere apologies for delay in response.
      As long as you are eligible as per the institute's eligibility criteria, there is no need to worry. As explained in the video, there are multiple parameters for the selection, and you can't change your past. @MBABeginners  2 месяца назад

      Hi Akanksha,
      Sorry for the delayed response. I was on vacation, hence the delay.
      At this experience, you shall attempt CAT because as a fresher you will get more opportunities because in low experience many companies show interest in hiring you from the campus. On completing 4-5 years of experience, GMAT is the right option. But if your only target is ISB, then go for GMAT.
      I hope this helps. Keep watching.

    If I got placed in some other organisation in campus placement after completing my MBA in sabbatical leave .Do I need to pay for my previous organisation to leave the job ?

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  11 месяцев назад

      Hi Hari Haran,
      In my experience, I didn't hear candidates paying anything to the previous organization where they were on sabbatical, because those candidates manage the resignation period in a calculative way, such as, most of the companies which visit the campus give you the joining after a few months of the degree completion, so this gives you some time to resign and serve the notice period in the previous organization, so, candidates calculate and resign as per the notice period.
      In case you aren't able to serve your notice period fully, then it depends on your goodwill with your manager who can decide whether to make you pay for that unserved period or to exempt the amount.
      Hope this helps.

    Good morning!! Admission cycle Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 means an applicant can apply for these B schools 3 times in a year / 3 intake are there in a year or a candidate can apply only single time in a year..I mean to say which time in a year a candidate should be ready with GMAT score.. Sir please confirm..

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  9 месяцев назад

      Hi,
      The varies in every B-school because every school has a different rule. For example, IIM Lucknow allows you to apply in both rounds but IIM Bangalore doesn't allow you if I remember it correctly.
      It's recommended to check the institute's website for clarity.
      Though B-schools claim that there is no difference in the process no matter which round you apply in, as per my experience it is better to apply at the earliest because if they have already shortlisted a similar profile in the earlier round then chances of shortlisting another similar profile are less.
      Most of the B-schools in India start the application process in July, so it's better to have your score ready by this time. Having said that, all the B-schools have different timelines as mentioned in the video so it's advisable to check the website once.
      I hope this clarifies. Keep watching.

I have proper invoices depicting my revenue over the span of two years I have been running my business. Can you kindly tell me how will it affect my profile? Coz It's a little different from a typical MNC job. I landed a MNC job in campus placements but did not like it so started my own venture. Have generated a revenue of over 14 lacs. GEM with a profile of 8/7/7. Was a part of NGO as well.

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  Месяц назад

      Hi Ritam,
      In my knowledge, the only thing which looks to be an issue is 8/7/7. The top 6 IIMs look for more especially when you are GEM.
      Having said that, now you can’t do anything to improve that. You can only try your luck with a very good CAT score and highlight your entrepreneurial learnings and experiences along with that of the NGO you worked with. This will definitely give you an edge. These 2 things should come up really well in your profile.
      I hope this helps. Keep watching. All the best.

      Hi Bhupesh,
      '1 year full-time MBA' is not the 'Executive MBA' as I have mentioned in the video. If you are talking about 1-year full-time MBA then most B-schools including international schools accept GMAT, though only a few Indian B-schools also accept CAT along with GMAT, so this makes GMAT a trendy exam that most of the B-schools accept. Having said that, the comparison of CAT and GMAT in this context is not worthwhile because for 1 year MBA you should go for GMAT, preferably.
      I hope it helps.

      Hi Tushar,
      Looks like you have a good profile.
      You need to understand that the earlier we complete our education the better - this I am saying in terms of ROI after an MBA and change in Industry or function. This is why in most of the B-schools average work experience is somewhere around 8-9 years in India and abroad. Having said that, if you want to do a job after your MBA, your target should be getting a good GMAT score (~700) so that you can convert IIMA or IIMC for a good ROI. IIMB is tough because they prefer candidates with 5-12 years of work experience. In case you are not able to convert IIMA and IIMC, you can look for IIM Indore, IIM Lucknow, or XLRI for a decent ROI.
      Going to the US or any other country becomes risky with this work experience because, at the end of the day, you have to search for a job on your own with some help from the Alumni network, but it's your choice.
      Hope it helps. Keep watching.

      Hi Gaurav,
      You look eligible for pursuing the 1-year full-time MBA from any of the B-schools mentioned in this video. As far as budget is concerned, the full-time MBA fees vary from ~20L to ~45L, so if you qualify for one of these B-schools, you can avail subsidized loan facility from the banks. I have explained all these points in the video itself. There are a few more B-schools that offer a similar program, you can check the websites of MDI and Masters Union and then decide for yourself.

      Now, to answer your question, if you are willing to have a double MBA degree - one from a tier 3 B-school and another from an IIM, then you can do it. I don't think there is any restriction to it.
      It definitely doesn't make your profile a bad profile, rather it will give you an edge during the admission process because you already know the business nuances.

      Hi Aman,
      In most companies, placement shouldn't be an issue because they don't ask for 10th and 12th percentage, but most of the B-schools have eligibility criteria for minimum marks in 10th, 12th, and undergrad so I suggest you call the admission office of the B-schools of your choice and check directly whether they will allow you once you have a decent GMAT score.

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Gaurav,
      Firstly, as I explained in the video, it's not an Executive MBA but a 1-year full-time residential MBA.
      Secondly, there is no age to upgrade yourself so there shouldn't be any point of being embarrassed. After all, you want to study further for your own reasons with your own finances so there is nothing to be ashamed of. Let me tell you that in every batch there are a few students at your age.
      IIM-B prefers a profile with work experience of 5-12 years. If you are eligible, feel free to score in the GMAT and apply for IIM-B and other IIMs. In your experience, I guess that you can get into IIMA, IIMC, IIM-Indore, and IIM Lucknow an XLRI though I am not very sure about IIM-B considering their preference for candidates having 5-12 years of work experience, and I believe you would have some prior experience as well. But, there is no harm in applying to all these B-schools.
      I hope this helps. Keep watching.

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  9 месяцев назад

      Hi,
      1-year full-time MBA is a program in which you need to stay at the campus and study there full-time. You get placement support (in the Indian context).
      Executive programs don't need you to be on campus and can be done over the weekends (varies as per institutes' curriculum) with no placement support.
      There are other differences as well but these are the main ones.
      I hope this clarifies. Keep watching.

    2) I've heard placements are not preferred for one year mba students except ISB? Is this true?

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  10 месяцев назад

      Hi,
      Since you are 25 years old, haven't you started working yet?
      Firstly, you need not wait for a 1-year MBA programme because you can attempt CAT or similar other exams and pursue a 2-Year MBA programme. If this doesn't suit you then you can write your GMAT and try for ISB once you have 2 years of work experience; else try for IIM Ahmedabad once you complete 4 years of work experience. After completing 5 years of work experience, you will have other options as well, so your experience of 5 years at the age of 30 doesn't restrict you from consulting career. But it is also true that the later you pursue your MBA (say after 8 years of experience), having an opportunity in Management consulting becomes tougher.
      To answer your 2nd question, I am not sure where you heard this about placement from. My suggestion is you go to the placement links I have mentioned in the description of my video and then see for yourself and then make an opinion. Facts are always required to come to a conclusion. All top B-schools have a good placement record, but if your question is about the number of companies in a 2-year MBA vs a 1-year MBA, then there is a simple answer to it. 2-year MBA is a much larger batch in every B-school, so obviously there we see more companies (in number) participating in the placements. ISB only has a 1-year MBA with a batch size of approx 900 so obviously to cater to such a larger batch they invite more companies (big and small). But it doesn't mean only they give preference to placements and not other B-schools.
      I hope I could clarify in the best way possible. Keep watching.

      Looks like you have many assumptions even before starting your GMAT journey, but I suggest you start giving your best shot for the GMAT and try for a good score. Worrying so much without making an attempt won't help. B-schools consider many parameters to select a candidate so the focus should be to control the controllable. If you have a good GMAT then there are chances even in these top B-schools.
      However, to answer your question, you can try for MDI (18-month PGDM-BM) and Master's Union (1 year but no degree or diploma, only certificate).

    Comparing IIM L & K 1 year program which one is better?

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  9 месяцев назад

      Hi,
      There are a few differences between both 1-year programs which are visible from outside.
      IIM-K's is a very new program compared to IIM-L's program.
      The average age and work experience of candidates in IIM-K are less than that of IIM-L which means the cohort of IIM-K is comparatively younger.
      Since IIM-K program is comparatively new, support from their placement office/management is more to promote the program (as per internal sources). But this doesn't mean that other IIMs are not doing anything in this regard, it's just that they are improving their programs which are mostly in auto-pilot now.
      I can only tell you the differences but can't say which one is better because there is nothing good or bad about both the B-schools, rather it is your requirement based on which you need to decide the best-suited option for you.
      I suggest you check both schools' brochures, talk to Alumni, and then decide.

      Hi,
      Is your farming business registered? If you have self-employment proofs then there shouldn't be any problem because you can show it as a business.

      Hi,
      In this case, you can prepare for exams such as CAT, XAT etc and try admission in a 2-year full-time MBA in all these institutes and many other B-schools as well because most of the 2-year MBAs don't need any prior work experience. Most of the B-schools call this program PGP.
      I hope this helps.

    Hi... I have more than 5 yrs experience in family business... But now I am looking to enter into corporate and mainly consulting or product management roles... Should I go for 1 yr role specially seeking into consideration I need a switch at age 32

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  11 месяцев назад

      Hi Shivangi,
      In most of the B-schools, the 1-year program doesn't have an upper age limit, even if they do, 32 is not a problem. I have seen people in their 40s enrolled in this program, so don't worry because age is not a problem. You can try for either of the two roles, it's just that during campus placements you need to create your CV in such a way that reflects an understanding/experience of either role which you would have gained in your family business. Every year people with experience in family business enroll in these programs across most of these B-schools, so your past experience would suffice. You need to focus on GMAT for now which you can start by seeing my video on 'GMAT preparation'.
      Hope this helps.

    Hi .. I Have 4 yrs of work experience as a software developer. My 10th score is 9.6cgpa and 12th is 70% . I have done btech in biotechnology and received 7.5CGPA overall. So considering my profile can you suggest me what should be my target gmat score if i aim for IIMs

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  11 месяцев назад +4

      Hi,
      There are many people who have this common question, so thanks for asking this.
      All the B-schools need a decent academic background, looks like you have it, so it's good news.
      You should always aim for a higher score (around 700) to be in a safer spot, so that should be the target no matter what. Having said that, please watch my video on 'Average GMAT score for top B Schools' if you haven't yet, and then based on the average GMAT scores mentioned you can target your B-school and so your score.
      Hope this helps.

    What about fms, iift , mdi ? Don’t they offer 1 year mba ?

    • @MBABeginners
      @MBABeginners  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi,
      MDI offers 18-month programs which are PGDM-BM and PGDM-PPM which need a minimum work experience of 3 years and a valid GMAT/CAT/XAT score. However, I am not sure about the average score they require, so I suggest you call the school directly to clarify this.
      FMS doesn't offer a 1-year program, however, they offer 2-year evening programs. You can check their website for clarity.
      Similarly, IIFT doesn't offer a 1-year program, however, they offer weekend programs. You can check their website for clarity.
      Hope this helps. Keep watching.
