  • After the 27 May 1984 Heroes Day fete in Bushenyi, President Obote drove to
    Mbarara, an area that had voted many DP MPs in 1980.
    Urging them not to repeat this in 1985, he also swore that Yoweri Museveni,
    a son of the area then in the bush, would never taste power.

    Uganda is a very beautiful country. She has fertile soil, unique landscape with sufficient rain. The people of Uganda are very welcoming and with a good sense of humour. They are well endowed with a deep sense of goodwill. God bless Uganda.

    Museveni was incapable of toppling Obote; he didn't have the military power to overthrow Obote.

    These founders of Nations for Uganda,Kenya and my country Tanzania were very much patriotic,How I wish to continue seeing this spirit of patriotism from our young present generation in East Africa and the all continent,can't we nurse the spirit established by our ancestors for which love of our Nations was they are number one priority dead or alive
