Gen. Museveni, a political philosopher of our time. Arguing with M7, you soon realize that he enjoys arguing with a genuine opposing side to show how fool they are to try to fool around with him. He studied Africa and Europe politics, society and economy; so he know where to hit his hammer 🔨 and where to shoot his arrows. Respect Mr. President🙌

    • @JOHNSSERWANIKO

@cadeauheritier980, you are right. That man can make you as an adversary to laugh at your self. His intellect can overwhelm any adversary. He reads widely and has natural flair for knowledge. He likes learning as opposed to merely stereotyping wch many leaders prefer. They like simple things as opposed to engaging in hard thinking. In Luganda, we say, tebagala kwekosa...

This was not an easy interview for me to watch because of the energy of disrespect in the voice of the interviewer. Of course the intelligence and good heart of our president and what he has done for our country and continent only made the interviewer more frustrated as he had wanted to serve his European masters by making our president appear a fool. The interviewers objectives were doomed to fail because he was dealing with a real revolutionary hero and leader of our people with facts to back it up, not the fellow puppets of the West he himself is and loves to serve pretending to be an independent interviewer. As a Ugandan, I cannot hide my anger that a man that has done so much for our country, protected us and taken us so far should be spoken to in such a disrespectful tone expected only from a coloniser filled with hatred, selfishness, greed and no respect for morality in his blood. What I hear in the voice of this interviewer is a soul that has been sold or sold out to former colonial powers and their friends dedicated to returning our country and continent to the hands and control of former colonisal powers and their friends for 30 pieces of silver. This interviewer is that kind of African that participated in the assassination of Patrice Lumumba and thinks he is intelligent because a white man is behind him. I was truly disgusted. God bless president Museveni. Our wonderful and humble president. My president. Thank you so much for what you have done for us and for bringing us so far when you could have walked away and the sharks would have descended upon on us, supported by selfish traitors that had assisted in the destruction of our country and continent for so long before your arrival. God bless President Museveni. God bless Uganda. Peace and love

Richard Jjuuko that Allan Kasujja man is like that. That's his nature even when he was working with Capital radio. In 2016 he moderated a Presidential debate at Serena & man his pride and disrespect for our leaders was on full display. It seems that's what people become and much more when they work for big platforms like BBC-seeing it as a favor to interview a leader like Raisi M7, the Mweshimewa. Its like he is doing a favor to give Gen M7 that platform to speak to reach 100s of millions of listeners scattered globally. But Gen M7, luv him or hate him, is intellectual enough and can always hold his ground very effectively. That's the beauty with seniority and being possessed with huge intellectual capabilities. Gen M7 is in his own category. He is a Locus Classicus. Can't easily compare his composure, intellectual prowess & demeanour to any other African leader-past & present. Truth is he badly needs that platform ahead of the next month NAM summit in Kla...

I think.. if we go on the round table and really try to understand our main problem... We really sit down to choose a person to take the lead to dissolve it.. and if probably they fail..we choose another for the good of all... Not for the good of a certain group.. we would be far by now... Still with in the same peace ...we would be far... There is a point in what others have done to thrive... We don't need to go back to kingdoms.. it's already too late for that... If the path was chosen to be political ...we have already copied the west..let's apply what they have but custom make it to our society...and the only way to do that is to change leadership so we can fine tune and know where the problem can be

I beg to disagree. Uganda does not have to "unite" with anyone. He does not understand that no one in the country should be forced to be what they are not, and that we are to be led rather than being dictated to. We know what works and what has always worked for us, ever since our handpicked delegates to the 1961 First Uganda Constitutional Conference held in London, unanimously agreed on the 1962 Constitution of Uganda. Independent Uganda would be a federation of the following jurisdictions in alphabetical order: Acholi, Ankole, Buganda, Bugisu, Bukedi, Bunyoro, Busoga, Karamoja, Kigezi, Madi, Lango, Sebei, Teso, Tooro and West Nile. The 15 represent the entire diversity of the major tribes of Uganda, his Bahima people being a tiny minority within Ankole. They also agreed that the 5 old kingdoms of Ankole, Buganda, Bunyoro, Busoga and Tooro, would be "federal states" right away since they were better organised and had demonstrated that they could govern themselves properly. The remaining 10 least developed tribes would be known as "districts" at first, to be governed directly by the central government then at Entebbe, until they could govern themselves within the Uganda Federation.
At the helm of the central government would be the Prime Minister, elected by adult suffrage, with limited powers provided by the constitution, and in recognition of the devolved powers of each one of the 15 jurisdictions, which could not be curtailed or infringed by the central government. Among them were the levying of taxes and the legislating of local laws as local governments ought to do. It was the first Prime Minister Obote who had subverted what had been unanimously agreed and was working very well for the first four years of independence (1962-1966). He would go on to declare a republic, seizing private assets, abrogating the 1962 Constitution of Uganda and declaring himself President. Upon being overthrown in 1971 by the armed forces, he was allowed to flee rather than being punished. Since then, Uganda has had a total of 3 men following the same script, by seizing power, holding it by any means and calling themselves President-- Obote, Amin and Museveni.
We have reminded Museveni over and over again since 1986 when he came to power of what was agreed at independence, and that failure to reinstate the 1962 Constitution of Uganda, the Uganda Federation and the restitution of all private assets ceased by the central government since 1966 and so on, his regime would fail but to no avail. When the opposition has grown stronger, the dictator he is has become ruthless, committing all kinds of atrocities against innocent citizens, entrenching himself in power by any means, such as denying Uganda free, fair and credible elections, which is the only means of transferring power democratically, disregarding the rule of law as well as allowing endemic corruption and nepotism in government. I could go on. It is quite clear to all of us that the state of Uganda today is untenable and that he has nothing else to say but to relinquish power before he is forcibly removed.

Yours is an argument of the 1950s and 60s, for the history books. Seventy years have gone by and we have all moved on. Ugandans are no longer confined to those tribal administration units, many of which had been created by the British for colonial purposes. Buganda itself has more non Baganda than Baganda today.

Thank you for responding to my commentary, which is not an "argument," as you have stated, on the situation in Uganda since 1986 and the preceding 25 years before then. Let me ask you 3 questions before I can respond to your commentary: 1. In which age group of these two is your age, 40-50 and 50-60, 2. Education: please choose from these four categories how much education you have had, Secondary school, University bachelor, master, doctorate degree, 3. Are you a native of Uganda or not? If none of the questions 1, 2 and 3 apply to you, please let me know. @@eastafricanist9156

I think you are still suffering from colonial hangover. You are still blinded by the whiteman’s promise of a monarchial govt mirroring the former colonial master UK.
You need to study the contextual issues sorrounding the 1961 conferences, and study how they were manipulated by the monarchists and Protestant groups in UK leading to a shell of a constitution that was bound to fail - which inevitably happened in 1966.
So, please you better move on and realize that Uganda has since evolved and we are not looking to be a monarch. There is no space for Rule by Right of Birth in the current Uganda. The best we can opt for is to have ceremonial leaders serving the cultural interests of their people. Nothing more.
