The Monitor’s Andrew M. Mwenda, quoting “a well-placed military source,” wrote that Col Mwebaze had been one of the military officers in the missing plane which was also transporting officials of a rebel alliance fighting to overthrow the government of former DRC president Laurent-Désiré Kabila.
The chartered Kenyan-registered Cessna aircraft (5YANV), according to the military source, had departed Entebbe for Bunia in the Ituri Province of DRC on Friday, September 25, 1998. It had not been heard from since.

I was working in Monitor at that time as a casual labourer in third term holiday ( i was in S3). Andrew Mwenda broke the story and Monitor was closed by government for two weeks over this story

Your narative is not the truth brother. Jet was on Personal business(deal) flight had a forced landing on Bamboo at Rwenzoruru due to some arguments on board, he was still alive upon landing on Rwenzori, a rescue team was dispatched , Jet was shot dead by a Lt of B company of some batalion i won't mention who was on strick orders, James Kazin refused to recommend that Lt Promotion after the incident.
