- In this video, we make a rusty paint job using glue. I'm not happy with the outcome and will redo it. This method was shown to me by Karnage RC.

A real human on RUclips? Crazy.
Awesome technique
Charlie! Read my comment on your axles vid. You should definitely be a supplier for some companies as I'd never buy from them due to their reputation, but I'd buy their stuff from you
As weird as it sounds, I've been rusting steel professionally for 20+yrs. (welded steel sculptures, etc.) The rusty base colors are very good. And the glue definitely made the rust look like it's coming through the paint layer, not sitting on top of it as so many faux rust paint jobs look.
Suggestion, if I may; Smaller sponge. Like a 1/4 of what you had. And tear chunks off with tweezers or needle nose pliers. This will lessen the coverage footprint with each dab, giving you more control over the density.
Rain sits longer on flat, horizontal surfaces like roofs, if they are flat, and the horizontal surfaces of the running boards.
Also keep in mind sun damage. Roof, hood, trunk and one side of the car are going to take more of a beating from the sun too. And rust more due to the sun drying the rain faster as well as the UV's killing the paint faster.
You can add a bit of grit to some paint for the really rusty/rotted spots too, like rocker panels and door hinges. Crushed quartz or sand.
Looks awesome though! I think just less on the side panels will be more. 🙂👍🤘
Yep already repainted it, was driving me nuts! Thanks for the tips
I would have never thought to use it for rust effects! Thanks
Not sure why you didn’t like that piece. I loved it. Look like a burner body that burned, was left to rust after! Nice work dude!👍🏻🤩✌🏼
These tutorials are awesome! Greatly appreciated, Brother.
From the car modeling world I have preferred dry brushing and sponging rust, but love the glue idea to give it the texture. Will be using that in my next project for sure.
i LOVE the way that the doors look!!! i think it's awesome that you took more off in that specific spot... almost like maybe some junk was piled up around the bottom of the doors on an old barn or field or something that kept the sun or water from hitting those specific areas and so they didn't get as rusty or weathered...
it looks so natural and realistic i wouldn't change a thing!!!
If there is another way I’m not gonna go looking for it!!! Epic and sick job bro! Keep this up. You need to take us all on another crawl sesh in the mountains brother!
I dig the flashback style. It's like a Tarantino movie. 🎥
It was very unintentional, im just not good at filming 😂
Looks really good. Im doing this to my 1/10th Atlas. Thank you
Good luck! If you mess up you can just paint it and re-try it 😁
Dude, you're great. This is, this is just great I love your attitude
Still turned out pretty good!

Great videos man PW Looks good. I just did a junkyard paint job on my wagon with salt. I may try this method next. Thank you for the content always helpful!
Style. Key word for these vids is style. Well done homie👍🤠👍
Day 4(?) of asking you to show off all your cars!!! 😭
But seriously I will use this technique. I just thought a playmobil VW bug and made a sweet looking buggy out of it. Cant wait to use it!!
Great vid brother
Kickass idea and video bro!
I don't know I think with some more wet sanding of all the black stuff it look good thanks for sharing 👍
Great idea brother.
Awesome! I use the salt method alot. Im gonna have to give this one a try! Thanks for the fun content! *Puts face up to the screen* PEACE!
I have used toothbrush, sandpaper, steel wool or just dry brush rust color over the salt. However my favorite effects are achieved with duct tape pulling off chips of paint
This is pretty cool
Thanks for the tip. Any specific reason you chose different finishes to spray?
Thank you
No reason, I just dug around and used whatever paint was in my garage
Thank you
Super merci pour cette astuce le rendus final est top👍
Its a good method. Thanks.
Awesome video dude
Do a video on shocks. How you set them up. If you run oil shocks, or long travel telescopic shocks. Would love to know your opinion cause I like your no bs attitude video on axles.
Will do!
Great tips as always my Friend ! When are you going to start the VW Bus cause i got mine ready for the build along? !
Sooon soon soon soon... Too many projects!
the thunbnail scares me a bit. I think it's the eyes. 😐
Can you do one about painting rims scale ? Y0u are an Artist.
Noted & thank you 👌🏻
24th scale Bob Ross
Thank you gang love you 🙏🤞😈🤟😘
This was your first time doing this??? GTFO! It looks amazing.
I’m gonna try using a base turquoise, then brown after and then my metal color and then I’ll use the glue and final step, sand it down to see the blue coming out
sick!
Ok so im combining a few techniques ive learnt here on thisrn ritcheer this channel ill mention ya when its complete
Maybe add some color to the doors
Already resprayed it all black, was driving me nuts... Round two here we go
Gloss rust is a bit odd. Maybe hit it with some flat clear.
Its pretty flat looking in person, but noted. I've actually never had good luck with my flat clear, it reacts weird with the paint... Something I need to learn more about using for sure
@@24Yepp great idea for rust though. I always wondered how to do rust on models. I plan to use Tamiya TS lacquer spray can paints. I had a good experience with them on the Gundam kits.
Day 2 of asking for a dungeon tour
Dragging this out to farm more comments from you
@@24Yepp 😅
Day 3 asking for a dungeon tour
Took me two times as well and I’m still not happy.
Yep, I’m 1st!
Welcome to the 1st club homie
