I like that our three characters are representations of the karma system.
Lucy: Good Karma. Gets her hands dirty when she needs to but never does anything outright diabolical or mean-spirited.
Maximus: Neutral. Ultimately a good person, but wily and willing to do a few heinous things to achieve his goals.
The Ghoul: Evil. Is openly hostile and often engages in vile activities for the sake of intimidation and enjoyment.

Lucy was a more diplomatic playthrough, Maximus was a character that rushed Power Armor and of course ran with the Brotherhood, and Cooper ran a high Dex/End mutant build replete with Cannibalism, Iron Stomach, Gun Fu, Regeneration, etc.

My favorite was the Ghoul because he was seen as an absolute bad A who just stop caring but wasn't inheritably bad, just shot people who got in his way. I think the show writers did an amazing job. And I was very happy to see that. In general BGS does NOT have writers up to the skill of Fallout 1, 2 or NV (because they all were written, made by original devs of FO). But they are really good at aesthetics and visuals. Thankfully the writers of the series had the chops to be on par with what Cain and his crew did. My honest opinion. I think you're wrong with it. Feeling like a fallout game because that's where most of their audience. And second of all, it's not a bad thing because most of the fun in The fallout game ain't even the main missions like most fallout games have better side missions than main missions. Same thing with the TV show throughout the TV show. After the first episode you get little hints about what's going on and then they explore it. It gives You time to explore the other characters have that one-on-one dialogue with other characters. Explore different places and give you glimpse on the pass. And as a show goes on, we see a naive. Lucy turn into a wastelander. I think that's interesting cuz she got to see the darkness she got to see the darkness her father she got to support the world and what it is like to be a wastelander because really if you get a bounty something you're just going from place to place and picking up little information. Or if you're doing like a run. Like if your carrier you're going to stop at places and lose sight of the main mission that's why I think you're wrong because that's the type of show it is. I meant it would be unrealistic as soon as she gets out there to find her father. She has to go through place to play us and gather information and stuff😊

They were spread as far as Arizona, with a population of nearly a million. No way they wouldn’t have reestablished a new base of power somewhere els and just continued on. And two why reset the wasteland back to a lawless state with no order. Humans progressed in the last 100 years. The hub and vault city still exist. The NCR doesn’t exist anymore but it’s not like a 100 years of establishing order would be undone in two decades.

Brother, we are never told it has been wiped out, it is no longer present around the LA and Shady Sands area because of the obvious, but it could very well be surviving in northern California or some place like the Hub. Remember that by FNV, the NCR is struggling in the Mojave, and is turning into an over-extended, war-hawkish state riddled with corruption, turmoil, and ineffective administration. We are also told that it was at risk of famine and relies on Hoover Dam for water and electricity, something that could have very well crippled them further if they were kicked out of the Mojave, which seems to be the case.

"Will you still want the same thing when you become an entirely different beast" this is the question that the doctor asked Lucy In episode 1 And I'm now realizing that's not exactly something that came to fruition in the show. Though she did become a different beast that's not what caused her to no longer want her dad back it was his actions And her learning about them not her growth. I feel like this quote lines up best with the ghoul. We get to see a family-driven man before the bombs drop and then everything that we see of him after that is a monster near entire lack of empathy he's become a different beast literally and mentally. But then in the final moments of the show it's revealed that he still wants the same thing he still keeps fighting just for his family. I don't know if this was intentional but that's what I'm reading it as so far.

!!! Spoilers Below - watch the entirety of Season 1 before reading !!!
Okay - here are some of my observations. FO4 sort of galled me for having gaping main arc plot holes... and there are a few here too, sadly.
    Moldaver:
    - If she was NCR, why did she use actual Raiders to invade Vault 33? Why not the armored troopers with heavy ordnance we saw at the final battle?
    - Why let some guy bang and then try to kill Lucy? She knew the girl was Rose’ daughter from the marriage request. They could have attacked the second the doors opened and made hostages of the entire gate-keeper entourage, or simply taken Hank then.
    - Why take Hank when she knew Vault 31 was right there full of Vault-Tec’s leadership? Why use the bomb to block Vault 32’s entrance when she could have used it to enter Vault 31 and capture them all then and there?
    - Why keep Feral Rose? Ferals feel eternal hunger, which she would have known. Was Rose really her friend, considering what she was doing to her, and willing to have done to her daughter?
    - Siggi was bringing her the specs for fusion, so how did she already have a full containment and computer control system built, plug and play ready, for it in advance? Why did she need it at all?
    NCR:
    - Shady Sands was one of dozens of cities, and the NCR beat both Ceasar and the BOS in FNV. Unless House (in the House Always Wins arc) continued a relentless war against them that they lost, why would the NCR be gone? They should be a largely unopposed major power.
    Vault-Tec:
    - If inter-vault computer records are restricted, that means they exist. How did Vault 31 not know about Vault 32’s situation or Rose’s pipboy activating the main doors from the outside? Doug the Brain could not have been behind that broom for long, he had to use the overseer terminal to reply to Norm’s impersonated messages from ‘Betty’.
    - How long did Moldaver and the Raiders hang out in Vault 32 waiting for a marriage exchange? How did Doug the Brain in Vault 31 not see them on the cameras?
    - How did Vault 32 get fixed up in one night? Even if all the cryo sleep folks were awaken, it is unlikely they would get oriented and motivated, much less know how to fully make repairs, in such a short time. There would have to be loads of robots in Vault 31.
    - If waiting out all other factions was the ‘time’ goal before reclamation day can happen, and vaults were not built to last indefinitely, and Doug acknowledged in the meeting that other survivors would exist, why did he assume ‘time’ would work?
    - If Hank could nuke Shady Sands, how? Vault Tec had no nukes… If it is now canon that they did, then how many? Why not use them all? If few, then why use one at all? Only hitting one city would guarantee investigations by all other major factions into who did it and how.
    BOS
    - How did they know Siggi’s relative whereabouts, but not be able to guess his destination? To use fusion, a faction needs tech and resources. Couldn’t be Raiders, the Enclave was gone, Siggi wouldn’t go near the Children of Atom, and that leaves only the NCR or House. No point starting a pissing contest with House on a 50/50, so Moldaver was their only good choice for them confront. If Moldaver is known by everyone, as repeatedly implied, and their intel is so good they can track Siggi 3000 miles, how did they not know where to find Moldaver and that she was the destination? The last battle should have been the opener for the series. War never changes.
    Cooper Howard (the Ghoul)
    - He cannot be harmed by numerous gunshots but everyone he shoots explodes and dies in a single hit? He is a 200+ years experienced cowboy with honed instincts and incredible skills. Why not just make him good, instead of being a comically overplayed bullet sponge trope as a sidewise nod to the game mechanics? He could have been written as wearing body armor that isn't made of paper and duct tape, like the NCR and BOS commandos at the end fight. He was a marine with intimate knowledge of military-grade armor systems, after all.
    - How did he know to shoot the knights in the 'special spot' at the end, but not Maximus at the beginning?
    - So, he wants to find his daughter? We can assume she and he survived the bombs falling within incredibly close range, as depicted in episode 1. He would have had to have run into his (ex?) wife, who would then have taken the child away from him, and refusing to bring him along, just to save her. So... why is he looking for her if he gave her up willingly to save her life? Did his ex shoot him to save the daughter? Why would that make him angry or seek her out? Wouldn't he assume both died a very long time ago of old age, since there has been nothing to suggest he was aware of cryo freeze until he saw Hank/Henry (Lucy's dad)? If he was previously aware of it, then why wouldn't he just scour all the known vault locations? If Moldaver knew were vault 33 was, and knew all about it from Rose some 27 years prior, then how did he not find it in 200 years? There would only have been so many within quick driving range of the nuclear strikes, the radius is actually incredibly small. He would also know how to procure a pip-boy, since those are literally hanging in shop windows, and of course, he is an incredibly capable tracker. So much of his apparent character motivation seems steeped in a kind of fiercely certain determination on the surface, but completely lacking a logical framework underneath. He either let his wife take his daughter because he could not save her himself, or, she was taken by force, and over 200 years has gone by. So why look for her? Just to know her fate? Is that enough of a reason? Or, is she also a Ghoul, and he knows it? If so, why is he chasing down Vault Tec at all? I'm hoping there isn't more lazy writing on his arc's continuity.
    Lucy
    - She fooled around with her cousin, but knew not to get knocked up because of genetic diversity concerns. She slept with the raider, but has not yet thought to question if she is pregnant or if she has STDs. She offered to sleep with Maximus, still completely unconcerned about STDs or lack of contraceptives. Why haven't STDs or babies come to mind? Her intro said she had medical training. It feels like this will be a thing in a future season, and isn't consistent to the supposed training of the character at the onset, "What's your sperm count?"
-She let a robot attach a dead finger to her, then the next scene is exposed to the grim reality that all the other patients at the organ clinic are Ghouls... So... How is that thing working so well? She is trained in Human biology. She knows better. The credibility of the character's basic competencies, when she isn't shooting a gun or learning how to be waster-sassy, are thrown out for cheap story moments. They were consistent in showing the new finger in later scenes, but this had better be a foreshadowing. Like when she said to Cooper, "One day I may look like you, but I'll never be like you." Or that she metaphorically followed her mother’s footsteps instead of her fathers in the last episode, but her mom ended up a Ghoul. It'd be great if they turned a main character into a Ghoul during the adventure, especially since they've added the new anti-feral serum mechanic to canon. But I suspect it isn't that deep. I hope I'm wrong.
    Maximus
    - Lets his knight die, then reveals himself to his new squire / old bully, then tries to immediately murder said squire / old bully, then decides vault-life is the life for him, then betrays his order with a fake head, then lies again by claiming he was leading them to victory when he fully planned on betraying them to Lucy - again - just to live in the security of a vault. So, he is just an emotionless opportunist willing to commit homicide - wastelanders, the BOS, Vault 4, the NCR remnants - literally anyone - to get by? What makes him different than any of the dozens of background character killed throughout the show? The Ghoul, Cooper Howard, is at least charismatic and driven. Maximus is a hollow vessel pulled along by whatever the strongest current is in a given power dynamic. Barring some serious character development, which might fly in the face of what appears to be pathological behavior, his character is not even an anti-hero. He's just a sidekick primed to die in a later scene, and it feels like he is being built up as central to the story so that the audience has a reaction to his inevitable loss. But how could we when only someone equally devoid of Human emotions could relate to him? His name should be Minimus.
Also, the code Hank gave was 101097 - 10/10/1997 was the release date for Fallout 1.

On another note we know friendly super mutants were given citizenship in the ncr so there should still be some around so where are they?
My theory after seeing NV at the end was that this is a timeline where house won and the ncr was lost Southern California and now only controls north cali based out of San Francisco or vault city.
I also question how the enclave could still be around in the west coast since we know after the explosion of the oil rig all remaining enclave operatives where either united down or Dlea’s to the east coast. If they had other hidden basses why didn’t the ex enclave members in NV go to any of them. I feel the lore in some places doesn’t make sense in the show so season 2 will have to clarify a lot.

Personally, I think it's a solid series with a great cast and a good story.
But there is one aspect that I and other fans of the franchise have a bit of a problem with:
The destruction of Shady Sands and the downfall of the NCR.
I have a mixed opinion on this issue. On the one hand, I don't think the decline of the NCR as a faction or the minor inconsistencies with the time frame are a problem in and of themselves. The extinction of the NCR kind of fits with the "war never changes" narrative of the franchise. It shows that no government, no matter how cruel or just, can stand up to the harsh realities of this world.
But then again, wiping out Shady Sands without addressing the demise of one of the most powerful factions in California and establishing the Brotherhood of Steel as the de facto new rulers of the former NCR territory with access to unlimited energy is kind of a symbolic act on Bethesda's part.
