Will always say that season 2 was the best finale. It was a small group of heroes with a good dynamic and then It went back to just them and they’re were just perfect. They were EQUAL. Easily one of the best finales out of all the seasons.

miraculous is a prime example of a show that needed a finish line. we went from monster of the week to teen dystopia in the 2010‘s with plot twists for the sake of plot twists.

The problem with this show is that the writers and producer are indecisive about what they want it to be. They can’t decide whether it’s a goofy superhero-romance kids show or a tragic telenovela-level drama. They want to have their cake and eat it too.
In fact the biggest problem here is the show's creator Thomas himself. He fights against his own writers because they want to take the show on a more consistent and even serious level - and that's why we often see some characters growing up in a certain moment of the show -. However, the creator just appears and says "nah I don't want it" and just resets the character development of every single miraculous holder. When people first complained about Chloe's dev just being snapped out of existence my man Thomas just said on Twitter that Chloe was supposed to be forever a Marinette's hater and that's it now Chloe will always be forever hated even by her creator himself.
Trueeee that's why the development of each character is utterly ridiculous and inconsistent.

I’m planning on making a post-nuclear apocalypse/Fallout and zombie-esque fanfic where the Miraculous world devolves into a nuclear war and the story centers around Chloe, Luka, and some other characters and a collection of OCs.
What I still don’t understand is why Hawkmoth doesn’t just
A. Give himself the power to time travel and give his past self the recipe to fix the peacock brooch
B. Give himself the power to grant wishes
C. Give himself the power to bring people back to life
Like...at this point I’m blaming the writers over gabe
He literally had a time travelling miraculous and a perfect opportunity to use it and drop the recipe to the past, but he didn't, cuz... no.

Stopped after season 3 because I couldn’t stand “they find out then their minds are erased” ITS SO ANNOYING. This show had so much potential and they did everything wrong.
I know right! Midway into season 3 there was so much potential as Chloe was actually getting redeemed or so we thought but then Thomas decided lol nope and threw her redemption arc out the window then completely sidelined Chat Noir despite him being one of the main characters and a HUGE focus on the entire Hawk Moth arc!

Litteral immortal gods that had hundreds of weilders that they all outlived stuck in jewels to forever serve humanity given to teenagers and they never explore how they feel or are abused or how they are litteral gods and how them becoming one with their weilder when they transform affacts them. Nooro could have litterally felt responsable just as much as Gabe for all they did and Dusuu omg she is the reason Adrien exists and his mom doesnt, we never see how she was affected by it or Gabe shutting her in that box behind the painting or heck the sentimonsters and how they litterally created the kids aka Adrien, Felix and Kagami and are seeing them as their property....so much wasted potential. Tehy didnt even touch the duality and dependence of being a superhero and being free or how taht could lead a kwami to feel imprisoned compared to them...they could have done it with any new teenge miraculous weilder and the guardians omg the guardians, the litteral immortal dudes taht reappeared outta nowhere and we never saw them except the one time with Furious fu and it was cringe and so was he in the end...like tehy were wasted. Fu never even really met them again on a trip with Marinette
For me season 3 was best one, after that I stop watch whole seasons of 4 and 5. Have up and down there, but the finale was much waste for me, with most absent of Chat or not reveal scene. After this I not hope that next two seasons will be good.

This mater from that last episode was so complicated for me that I neded a video from yt to recognize this mater fully.
And as far as I am concerned, Gabriel after being persuated by Marinette stated that he will join Emily in heaven (or what ever Astruc belives is after dead) and he will also bring Nathalie back to live
This created a scenario, where:
1. He is with Emily in heaven (I don't think he deserwed it)
2. Truth about him will never comes out to the world (and to Adrien above all), even better, almost everyone thinks that he helped by introducing his aliances and also died when helping to defeat monarch (how ironic)
3. Adrien is now with Marinette and their relationship "can replace" their family as Adrien cannot live hithout her now (but still Gabriel wish can change that...)
So, I think yes, this is stupid season ending where world lives in a big LIE, but at least it fits Gabriels ego (partially)
I also love how easy is to persuade other person in this universe by one conversation...

At this point they're just dragging this story and it's literally been years. How did we go from Marinette fumbling over Adrien + Ladybug passing off Chat Noir to Marinette passing off Adrien for Chat? And most of the times the episodes just consist of Marinette stating she has an obvious problem and being comically bad at handling the situation until she turns into her ladybug form and learns her mistakes...it's like this girl's brain only gets 1000% smarter when she's in her 2nd persona. But then there's her lying and excluding Chat Noir to the point he changes his entire persona at one point. She used to be somewhat funny with her being comically clumsy. Now she's just insufferable and some of the characters are too. Like I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled a plot twist of Nino turning against them cause he managed to release 2 superhero identities AT ONCE IN PUBLIC.
Like I get the show is for kids and the point of it is to teach life lessons, but the characters shouldn't be this dumb.

chloe shouldve 100% been the bee miraculous holder permanently. giving her the miracuous accidentally was a good thing for the show, and the whole drama with her, hawk moth, and miracle queen at the end of season 3 was cool too, but her entire character arc was jjust thrown away bc the writer didnt like her character. she had potential to be much more important in the story and a writer preference is not fair to her. (this is totally not bc i love queen bees design with a passion)

Simple: Chloe is based off of one of Astruc's high school bullies. Being a manchild he never grew past it, so when the rest of the staff tried to do something nice with Chloe he threw a tantrum and made her even worse than her S1 self, to the point she literally got shipped off to the US.

Making Marinette the one who has to bear all the psychological burdens of knowing the truth is just the "women can deal with complex emotions but not dumb boys" shit media has done for years. So not only is Adrien being lied to, Marinette is being made to be unable to be an honest and open equal with him. Neither of them gets to have a true love they're totally vulnerable and comfortable with. I didn't think it was possible for the ending to screw over both of them but they found a way. It's kind of impressive how much that sucks.

I’m not expecting their canon relationship post reveal to be healthy since its so screwed up. Marinette has kept so many unnecessary secrets from chat noir/adrien. Its not realistic to put this much burden on herself, she’s not adrien’s wife!! This would be fine if Adriens character didn’t revolve around “Is a sentimonster”. Adrien’s identity crisis from season1-2 was set up and believable; he was already in a controlling family and a product of Gabriel’s behaviour. Now he’s dull, lifeless and marinette’s shadow

@@JesseGolo On the one hand I do appreciate the show acknowledging Gabe sucks so much that a fourteen year old is more emotionally mature than him. On the other hand, Nathalie is aware of everything Gabe did and is an adult. She should be the one doing the emotional labor in Adrien's life, alongside his mom. It still puts the responsibility on women instead of men, because these writers haven't written any men who are emotionally sound adults, but at least it wouldn't be on a kid. Even bad fanfics avoid making Marinette the emotional mediator of everyone's problems.
I’ve always thought that it would have been great if they went deeper into her psychological stress as the holder but no. His friends and family could have been worried for her but she still bears it all. It could have been a great lesson, don’t put all this pressure on yourself or share with the ones you love
Your alternative s5 ending was so good, you literally had me HOOKED😭 It really WAS more gratifying. The writers could've made the audience so much more emotionally invested in the show if they put more emphasis on Adrien's character. His storyline is jsut so imbedded in the plot... Even more so than Marinette's is. I hate how easy Gabriel got off. How can the creator attempt to teach such a bullshit lesson of "letting people go who aren't worth it" to children about someone's literal FATHER. Someone's only parent who was the sole cause cause of the kid's troubles. You don't just let that shit go if it affects your entire life bro😂😂😂😂 And it's so unfair thay Adrien's going to be left out of the loop AGAIN by Mari/Ladybug about the identity of their grestest villain. How will Mari even feel comfortable being lovebirds with Adrien while hiding something like that. I'm so upset for this kid... (Also I'm shitting on the writers/creator, not Mari.)
It's actually only the creator. The reason the show even turned out like this is not bc the writers were incompetent but because Thomas didn't like how the plot was progressing (same thing with Chloe's redemption arc. He tweeted that Chloe was supposed to be a "forever hater" of Marinette bc she was modelled after a school bully of his.) I think he even bullied his own writers to make the show go like this instead how it was sometimes when the character suddenly seemed much better and grown up all of a sudden.
the ending anyways seems too good to be true, I think it's quite possible that parts of it might be changed or revisted
(maybe they need to realize it's too perfect and wake up from the dream as they realize a wish was made)
27:00 - The whole issue with Kim being a past love interest and pranking her in a cruel way after being manipulated by Chloé was suh a clumsy retcon.
For years they told us not to mind Marinette's obsessiveness, jealousy and stalkish behaviour as it was all a joke.
Now, all of a sudden it's serious business, and the result of some past trauma no less (trauma which had never manifested so far in any possible way....).
I stopped after season 3 I literally couldn’t take marinette’s problematic stalker ass and how they threw away Chloe’s redemption arc which was the best thing that happened to the show

It's so funny. I was babysitting my nieces, both, respectively 9 and 11 years old, when we watched the season final. When Marinette detransformed, they both yelled 'no!', the 11 yr yelled 'he's tricking you', and were pretty upset Adrien didn't find out ANYTHING. If the target audience is upset about this, I think Astruc and the writing crew just suck at writing.

Thomas says he's a feminist but he doesn't let Adrien be Marinette's equal, even though the core thesis of feminism is that we're all equal. And he says on Twitter things have to be like this because Marinette is the hero but... no? Most superheroes don't lie like this to their significant other. It's funny how at least season 4 made it look like his arc was going somewhere...I mean he was unhappy, he was possessive at times, he was jealous of LB's attention and in the season finale SHE screwed up, not him. From what it looked like there had to be a flip of some sorts, where Adrien stops worshipping LB and starts rebelling against his father, questioning his moralities more and more. It would've been so freaking cool if he stopped being a lovesick puppy, tried to actually investigate what happened to his mother, got to know who his father really is and got a chance to decide what to do with this whole situation. Just IMAGINE!
Instead, season 5 Adrien could've been described by a single quote from this same season: "I don't know what I'm gonna do with my life but I know that I love Marinette 🤡"

I absolutely hate how Thomas handled Chloe; not only is it hypocritical of him to redeem Gabe (the man that terrorized Paris on a daily basis), while saying that she's irredeemable, but it was also a missed opportunity, Chloe's character development done right could have shown that even characters that are mean to others can change and grow to be better.

for the reason why they told marinette about the twins story, it’s bc felix and kagami wanted adrien to be free from his father as well, and for marinette and him to be able to be themselves together. also, they both know abt gabriel AND kagami’s mum being the bad guys. and they want to stop them. but they know ladybug (and cat noir) are stronger and since adrien is locked up, they only tell marinette.
i guess this was lost in the eng translations, bc it’s quite clear in the french version

Zoe was such a cop out, I've never seen such lazy writing. Because the writer seems to have a huge vendetta against Chloe, Zoe has as much personality as a bland ricecake, all for the sake of some weird revenge against a character written for no other purpose but to be senselessly abused and inflict abuse.
Zoe's backstory doesn't even make sense. She was bullied in school so instead of just transferring or seeking counseling like any normal person, she moves away to Paris with her (at best, neglectful, at worst, abusive) mother who she barely even knows...
Zoe should've been used to help show us Chloe's redemption. Imagine how cool it would be to see Chloe comforting Zoe after their mom is mean to her, have the two hang out and relax away from all of Audrey's toxic expectations, and then have Chloe complete her redemption arc when Zoe is threatened by an akuma and Chloe goes to fight it without a miraculous because that's her family and she's not going to let anyone hurt her family. It would've been so cool. They could've split alternating the bee miraculous between the two of them to keep Hawkmoth confused about who was using it and been besties. Instead we get more "half siblings hate each other" cliche garbage.

It started out with me trying to learn French, and then caring too much about it's bad writing at times(so much so that I watched 3 seasons in a row), and then giving up and watching strictly spoiler videos. Astruc is trying to make it feel like Marvel Comics or DC. The comics always follow a specific plotline until the arc is over than it resets with changes back to standard. Astruc even puts himself in the series like Marvel comics legend Stan Lee.
I love your alternate ending!Sounds so much more satisfactory than what we got imo. It really made no sense to me why Adrien was left out of the final fight with Monarch, HIS OWN FATHER. Just when I thought he’s finally gonna have more character development, they took it all away. His lil speech at the end of season 4 was so cool and got me so hyped! He finally looked more reliable than ever before as Chat Noir, and finally moved on from his unrequited love for Ladybug. As Adrien, he finally realized how important Marinette is to him. But alas, he got screwed over in the later half or so of season 5, even tho most part of the story surrounds his character. He could’ve maybe broken free of his father’s control, proving he’s more than just a sentimoneter with the help of his new found love for Marinette or something along that line. I was hoping that Adrien, along with Felix and Kagami, aren’t full sentimonsters, cus the fact that they can be robbed of their free will and even die if the rings are damaged isn’t sitting right with me. Oh and worst of all, they screwed up the love square so bad. Although a lot happened between the two, what I find the most saddening is that AdriNette finally happened, but all the bs that was happening sometimes took away the fun and excitement. And for what? so that Adrien can sleep in a room while Marinette does everything and hands him his “freedom” at the end. Like what?!?! Makes me wonder why the show even has Chat Noir in the title. Also, I fear that with how thing currently are, Lila might use the info she got from Nathalie to ruin Ladybug’s reputation in the future, and maybe even mess up her relationship with Adrien and/or Chat Noir.

The fact that this show aired when I was around elementary school and is still going even when I’m now in highschool yet the story and character development have not improved is crazy. Used to love miraculous ladybug but wow I honestly think this series is way overdue at this point.
And propably yes, for me most shocking fact is after 5 seasons in their timeline is only 1 year after... Gabe was very busy man. And no, in Miracolous it's hard for character to develop, especially main characters for some reason.

They could even have attempted to control him and get him to hand over his Miraculous immediately. Gabriel has found out his son was Cat Noir before in what if episodes and it’s amusing to think that basically he somehow forgot he could command his son to literally do anything. Makes em all look like imbeciles.
-Emile supposedly created Adrien 14 years ago with the Peacock yet was perfectly healthy up until 2 years ago in the present of the show but Natalie was on death’s door and died after only a few months of using it. I call hacks on that one.
-Kagami supposedly being one also doesn’t make sense, as it was never established that her mother and Gabriel had a close relationship before the Alliance partnership. Least of all “hey do you want me to make you a kid?” relationship. They did not know each other.
So yeah, never planned and just slapped in there just cause it sounded cool despite it being contradictory

And awful teachers?? And when the plot is convenient she struggles at school and school projects while Adrien is literally organized by someone that is paid to schedule things for him. Sure he has just as many responsibilities but also he has tons of tutors and help and remains organized with Nathalie AND he is constantly seen sacrificing his social life for the sake of his responsibilities AND he canonically happens to be a physics whiz?????? HOW is Adrien as Chat noir supposedly an idiot, far weaker than the strategic genius that is ladybug, when it literally defies all logic for Marinette to be good at school????? And Adrien is a better fencer (and by extension, fighter- especially because he is an athlete that has to train every day, AT FIGHTING?????- also when he’s pissed, he fights extremely well). Literally HOW is Adrien the weaker link?????

And Chat has saved her multiple times, going as far as to put his life on the line, AND or getting inadvertently akumatised, just for Ladybug to downplay and ridicule him because she supposedly did "most of the work" despite the fact that Chat is the one who most often ends up in direct confrontation with the enemy while Ladybug runs around executing a ridiculous plan with spotted toilet paper or something.
Should've been Adrien. He had way more potential to explore how he grows as a person and sets himself on a path of breaking free from his father's influence, possible even moving out of the house at one point or running away, and gradually building up his development until Chat Noir doesn't become a silly alter ego, but basically merges as a part of the person he was suppressing the entire time to please his father.
Imagine a lighthearted and free Adrien who finally gets to do all the rebellious things he never got to do before. Ugh SO MUCH POTENTIAL.
I'm sorry, but Adrien is now just an arm-candy of her highness queen of Mary Sues (even though the termin is outdated I can't call Marinette anything else but a Mary Sue 😔)

As someone who loved and religiously watched miraculous back during season one, to about 3 and when 4 was just coming out, it feels like a lot of things that became true like Adrien being a sentimonster, certain things that Adrian, marionette, ladybug and chat noir did felt like comics I had seen or like theory's we all came up with came true
I can't say wether it's all good or bad things as there were parts i enjoyed, but some part felt very fanservicey or like waving things in our faces to then take back? I have so much more to say, but it seems im not alone, its a real big shame tbh :(

If you have to write boys/men out of your story to have 'female power!', you're not writing it properly. My sister introduced me to this show and I pointed out that, in the first episode I watched, Ladybug had to save Chat Noir 2 separate times. Making the male characters useless/irrelevant doesn't do anything to showcase how awesome the girls/women are. But then again, in season 5 they actually made almost every adult character trash (with the exception of Natalie) in order for the kids to seem cunning (like Chloe and Lila whose plans only went forward on the idiocy and despicableness of many adults).

Tbh I don't think the "chat noir was save 2 time which means this show is a bad representation for media" but I think it go against the trope "men save women". Almost EVERY SINGLE TIME there's a "women save men" somehow the men will save the women again to make it "even" just to show that "nah this women ain't THAT good". Like why can't a women be the prince charming without having to be save later on?

@adrenalineactivate Oh, I didn't mean to imply that Chat Noir being saved twice in the first episode I watched equated it to a bad show. That stood out to me because it was part of a much longer conversation I've had with my sister about how media has slowly degraded male characters over time in order to "raise" female characters, which I personally feel is just going to hurt men (and achieving equality) in the long run (we've gone from ditzy women or women who always need to be saved to idiot men - started around the time of The Simpsons - and here the boy often needing to be saved).
If I don't like the trope of the girl always having to be rescued, why should I like it reversed? I personally want to see more actual equality in media, and I think it's a responsibility of creators to do that, especially when they're touting that that's what they're going for. It just becomes a harmful trope otherwise if it's repeated over and over across different media, so it rubs me the wrong way when I see it in children's programming.
Like I always say, if you have to tear down men to make women look better, what does that say about the writers?
People were already criticizing the fact that Marinette and Gabriel don't really have any sort of relationship, so the only dramatic weight of them finding out each other's identities is how Adrien would feel about it. And now we finally get the reveal and Adrien *isn't even there* and *never gets to find out* Amazing writing, 10/10 🤦♂

An anime-style reboot would settle the years of disappointment I’ve had about this show oml. Adrien, Felix, and Kagami being sentimonsters is the stupidest plot twist. Why didnt Plagg notice or even say anything? If sentimonsters can hold miraculouses, dont you think Gabe would have thought of this? Or at least tested it out? Its all so... ugh. Im glad I emotionally detached from this mess of a show lmao

@jlwiseman98 That's what I'm saying though, he could have made a bunch of sentimonsters and given them the miraculous, but instead he just crushed up the miraculous. To me personally, it felt like the sentimonster twist wasn't really planned and more of just thrown into the mix for shock factor and to give Felix a purpose last minute. And it still doesn't explain why Plagg didn't even try to tell Adrian that he wasn't a real human, or even mention anything was weird about his miraculous holder.

If you read the design document for the show that was written 2 years ago half of the plot has been changed from the original plan, the most egregious one being that none of them were sentimonsters, this was a rewrite added in last second because astruc is garbage and took fan theories that he liked but didn't have any backing or any proper build up into his story and is taking the credit as his own

Keep in mind when we saw the peacock miraculous in Volpina the first time. The Miraculous was technically damaged. This could be why Plagg couldn't sense Duusu or know Adrien was a sentibeing.

im gonna be honest. as much as i love the lgbtqia+ representation, the only thing that really bothers me is that the whole thing with zoe and marinette really gets on my nerves. and no its not just cause the fact that i hate zoe, its the fact that it came absolutely out of nowhere. how do you have rose and juleka / marc and nathaniel barely have any romantic interaction but suddenly zoe is in love with marinette and has the first same sex love confession? i dont know i just find it weird and it gets on my nerves.
Honestly since Alya and Marinette are so close I was expecting for Marinette to find out Alya used to have a crush on her. It would've made sense since they've spent so much time together, and it would've been cool to see a non-white character be bi, since we don't see that much in the media. Plus since Nino's also had a crush on Mari in the past he could've just laughed and been like, "I guess that's one more thing we have in common!" and been totally chill with it, which is how representation should be - everyone being mellow and chill about who one another are.
Well they had to give zoey something to make her more than just the Chloe replacement- why not get ppl to stop whining about the representation by making her the INCLUSIVE replacement?? Sarcasm aside, it was slightly hinted- Marinette is the first person she treats with kindness once she gets to Paris, Marinette helped her change her behavior of copying the bullies to fit in, Marinette invited her into the friend group and is zoey’s main friend by a long shot. I’m part of the community, and if I was in her shoes, i would prob crush on Marinette too- she gave zoey literally everything! There’s really no one else Zoey would have crushed on, Zoey is rarely seen talking with people other than Marinette. If they truly wanted to make better representation than we got, Zoey probably would have gotten way more lines with someone else- imagine if she actually gets conflicted with that person and Marinette??? Also, imagine a storyline of Zoey crushing on Ladybug from afar after that huge speech in her first episode and giving her the bee miraculous. IMAGINE ZOEY ANGST BETWEEN MARINETTE AND LADYBUG!! Ahh the irony. It truly is a shame they never did care about representation, or writing

Astruc has said he based Chloe on someone who bullied him in school. Which I get, bullying sucks, but like... Hawkmoth's akumas murdered people, he ruined people's lives, he was mind-controlling his son and he was an emotionally abusive father. He's objectively a worse person than a bully. Even if you don't like Chloe, we should all agree Gabe is the worse person here. I think that Astruc is just unable to accept that whoever bullied him wasn't the worst person on Earth and he's projecting that onto Chloe. He needs to move on.

I understand that you want to make a person related to someone with potential that you had dealt with in real life (especially if it was as mean and abusive as Chloe), but I don’t think some writers like Thomas realize that there could be so many people out there that are so much worse than those who were mean to them in real life. A bully from school is one thing, but have you not heard of criminals, murderers, scammers, or other kinds of malicious people? Don’t you think that those kinds of people out there in the world make you think, “you know, my bully ain’t that bad”?
Which in this show’s scenario, yes, I understand, Chloe can be crowned as one of the worst bullies you can possibly imagine in school at least. But keep in mind that the main antagonist himself, Gabriel Agreste (HawkMoth/ShadowMoth/Monarch) throughout all five seasons has hurt a huge population of Paris and has put a lot of citizens in danger and life-threatening situations (including babies) just to get the two things that he’s been wanting for the longest time. He’s murdered so many, he has ruined so many people’s lives, he completely hypnotizes his own son into thinking he loves him and that he is a good father when he really isn’t, he hardly ever lets Adrien do the things that he loves anymore or do the things that make him happy and liberated, including hanging out with his bestest friends and dating Marinette, he never listens to Natalie about quitting the whole villainy thing and spending more time with him, etc etc. Gabe is like most wanted enemy number one in this show and has done so much harm and threat into Paris that I personally think he should be executed for it if it was in real life. And just rewatching and analyzing all that Gabe did contrasting from all that Chloe did, it all makes Chloe kind of a good guy, or a secondary antagonist that can easily turn into a good guy once realizing its harm, accepting the consequences, showing remorse, and willing to make changes and sacrifices.
And at this point, I really don’t understand why Chloe didn’t get or completed the redemption arc that she rightfully deserved, but Gabe did. That was one of the things that severely pissed me off from this finale. Chloe I feel like had a lot more good guy potential than Gabe ever did. Even when she was with Ladybug back in Season Two and half of Season Three, I saw it in her eyes that she wants to change. But of course, because of Thomas’ thoughts and intentions of her character contrasted with Gabe’s, she was completely destroyed, and now we all have come to this big pile of a mess.

And wait, now that I think about it, wasn’t Gabe the whole reason why Chloe inadvertently became a full-on accomplice/reliable villain to him? Because in the Miracle Queen episode, I think I remember that Gabe must have brainwashed Chloe into thinking that Ladybug was never going to let her fight with her again and that she will never trust her again. I get it that Ladybug/Marinette has some regret and is really careful about trusting Chloe to fighting and protecting Paris because of what she did in the Queens Battle episodes, but I am pretty sure Gabe purposely reminded Chloe about all of these things just to weaken her devotion and dedication to Ladybug. Like a true villain you would say.
Because it was mentioned in the earlier before that episode that Ladybug was protecting Chloe for her own safety because of the dangers that Gabe can do to her since he knows everything. AND CHLOE HERSELF UNDERSTOOD AND ACCEPTED IT, AND WAS CONFIDENT THAT SHE’LL BE NEEDED AGAIN! And then Gabe had to come and mess it all up! And I thought Chloe would be stronger than that because of the way she rejected the akuma in “Miraculer” for getting so angry for the same reason: Ladybug not showing up.
So now that makes me think that not only did the writers themselves messed up Chloe’s redemption from Miracle Queen, but now I also think that it was also poor writing from the main antagonist’s character too. Just a new theory that I came up with even though I’m pretty sure that that was already a thing.

Not only Chloe falling back to her old habits subvert the expectations, it tells a different story while keeping the character in character. Chloe did showed signs but it didn't mean it was a garentee. Plus the more time passes, the more she felt intitled to her hero status and started bragging about it and pulled a tantrum at the end of the season because it didn't go her way. And all that is in character.

Shit is about to go down when Adrien finally finds out. Just imagine him straight up going to Alix, asking her to use the time miracolous, since he wants to see what happenend himself in the rabbit hole. By witnessing what has happend, he can't help himself but jump outside the rabbit hole while Marinette is still frozen by the bee in the agreste basement. That way they finally could have a non-time-altering talk
I both want and don’t want Adrien to find out his dad was Monarch because while he deserves the truth knowing would destroy him because then he would realize that he cataclysmed his own dad (not his fault but that won’t make a difference) and because of that his dad was slowly dying over the course of season 5. That along with the emotional shock and damage that would come with finding out your parent was the horrendous supervillain who had been terrorizing Paris and you’d personally been fighting as a superhero for a year would completely wreck him.
And I forgot the sentimonster thing! That Adrien definitely needs to know but it needs to be broken gently by someone he trusts and who cares about him. Can you imagine finding out you’re not quite a real human?
Someone on instagram made a comment about the finale; adrien was an ACTUAL VICTIM OF ABUSE, and as he FINALLY starts to realize it and build up courage to defend himself after not doing so for multiple seasons, Gabriel dies and is forced to see a statue of his abuser with EVERYONE, including adrien, being told the lie that gabriel is a hero
The whole Adrien-Sentimonster thing made me drop the show for good. I couldn't believe how insulting that was to Adrien's character that the creators were like: "Oh, well, he HAD to be a sentimonster because *nobody* is THAT perfect!" Like, bro, Adrien ISN'T perfect! He has allergies, he's clumsy and awkward around Ladybug then Marinette, he has anger and jealousy, etc. If you wanted him to be "perfect" he would have NO emotions other than happy all the time. Clearly this is not the case. Of course the creators will just say: "Well that's the point of why him being a sentimonster with emotions is so important!" No, just stop. The moment they brought living dolls into the equation made me really question the direction of the show, and then seeing it be confirmed with Adrien (and others) was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Yeah, it implies that Adrian can't disobey his father, not because he's weak against him, but because he literally can't because he's controlled.
But I'm sure that the earlier seasons didn't have Gabriel use the ring that controlled Adrien. So we still got the Adrien that simply didn't want to disappoint his father.

But now that he's more independent and brave, his father literally has to control him to keep him in line.
