  • In this video I fiberglass the chambered wooden surfboard. This is a long video and goes in depth on all the steps to produce an amazing glassing job, applicable to foam surfboards as well. Fiberglassing is also called glassing and laminating in surfboard terminology.
The previous video I installed Futures Fins finboxes. So if you are just tuning in check out the other videos in this build series, linked below.

I used to ROUND the edges of the rail more and do the sharp edges on the last foot or so on the SANDING part, it avoids bubbles and the end result is stronger

I’ve been watching quite a lot of your videos lately and i would like to say well done on being so thorough with your explanations. I am very close to starting my own chambered timber board. If I use polyester resin is the method the same for laminating or do i need to seal the timber with resin before this step?

I’m also interested in the overall weight of the board, plus what are you doing about the glass coat over the fin boxes??

Can the fin boxes go on before the final coat of epoxy? what is the ideal time to install fin boxes, leash box and vent?

I'm wanting to build an SUP BOARD and I'm thinking about Wood frame with Foam insulation for fill area. The wood would basically be skeleton for stability and Foam to reduce weight . I'd be using it for Flyfishing and wildlife photography stuff. I also thought the wood frame would allow me to create D-ring tyedown points. Thoughts please sir .

Where did you but the lamination paper? Is it the same as tracing paper?
    Thanks!

Andrew, enjoy your videos.... I have a wood veneer board that has fiberglass bruises... Can you recommend a remedy to fix these issues.. Is there an email that I can send pics..?

Hi Andrew, did you think about some alternative waterproofing? Since wooden surf has enough strength is it necessary to add fibreglass?

I’m making an XPS board right now, am wondering if it matters what type of epoxy resin I use? Is it necessary to use specially formulated surfboard epoxy? I don’t care about colour or anything like that since it’s my first board and pretty ugly anyhow, just want to make sure it’s strong and floats.

I've been having a problematic thought..
