She strikes me as feisty, no self pity, not brash. Never saw her show, never even heard of her. Her choice of topics may be not to everyone's taste - but, to each his own. Bob Costas' Oprah remark? Her weight loss was something she discussed heavily (pun intended) herself - therefore it is surely public property. How silly that we should be forced to carefully tiptoe around the elephant in the room. Makes conversation a minefield and an exchange of views quite fraught. Stick to the weather?

Hopefully Americans were judged on something other than her program. I could not watch it. Will listen to almost anyone being interviewed.
