PRO REVERB MIXING TIPS [2021] 4 Vital Reverb MIXING Techniques
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 июл 2024
- Mix reverb like the pros. Reverb is such a vitally important part of mixing and music production. But for many music producers, the process ends with putting a reverb plugin on an aux channel, and maybe modifying the reverb itself. But professional mix engineers go a step or 2 further by processing the reverb with compression, sidechain gating and more. This way we can sculpt the reverb so it does what we want, without getting into places we don't want.
There's also a quick tip on computing the correct release times for a compressor or gate, and we have a few reverb tricks as well.

Its crazy no one on RUclips ever mentions adding a noise gate after the reverb. Thanks alot. I will certainly try this trick.
Another tips with "reversed reverb tail", you can add a tremolo to make an "helicopter" effect (and you can increase/decrease LFO with automation)
that reverse buildup is a nice little trick
It works great on a big piano hit, and on a lead up to a snare as well. Thanks. (impressive body building btw)
The gated snare, that part really made me smile. So cool and so impressive, will definitely be using this trick! Thank you!
great stufffffffff..
Thanks, you have some good stuff on your channel! -Arty
SkyeLab Music Group 😊😊
Muddy mixes due to reverb!! Just fixed one of my mixes by backing down reverb on everything!! It's breathing better now!! Thinking that more reverb would make it more alive! Those calculations gonna have me going back to all my old tracks now......damn!! Your teaching deep stuff here man! Amazing! Thanks so much for your great "secrets"! Cheers!
wow! great stuff! you old timers always have that secret sauce!!!!
Haha, I'm doing what I've always, so I don' think of myself as an old timer. (you won't either when you get up there, you'll see. LOL)

Wonderful tips! I'll start using your release equation tonight.
Hey John, yes it helps with setting all release times, and pre delay on a reverb as well. But fine tune by ear till it feels right. Thanks. -Arty
TY SO Much !!!! 🙏
Really loved the gated snare trick used by Phil Collins! One of my inspirations🌸
Phil actually used to love my old band Anti-Gravity (in the '80s) We have a letter somewhere from him when he passed our music onto Atlantic records (with his recommendation)
Sounds a little dated now though :/
pray for you core of my heart. your techniques are amazing.thank you so much for sharing your heart touching unique process
Good stuff. We amateurs overlook these details.
Thank you sooooo muchhhhhh!!!!

yeah, I just built a new recording studio, so I plan to get back to doing some videos once it's complete. Thanks for the encouragement :)
gold
I enjoyed seeing a new video from you. Always a pleasure. Didn't know the Formular for compression calculation, I used to switch in rythmic effects by listening. But that's great to know as a starting base. I try to be not too much on sync to leave more vividness into a mix. But it's very handy to have such tools and know such stuff. As always, thank you a lot. Stay safe and sound.
The calculation is exactly that, a good starting point. The ears always have the last word. More videos coming, so stay tuned. Thanks -Arty
@@SkyeLabMusicGroup you're right :) I'm looking foreward for new stuff. Cheers
Very useful content
wait, powerful stuff there
Great video, greetings from Brasil
Thank you, for your very informative Videos :) George
These simple techniques makes such a tremendous impact - amateur demo to professional track. That gated snare is painfully 80's. I always hated the sound personally. The reverse reverb is really useful for me. Thank you for explaining these techniques.
Hey Freda, what's up? Glad it helped! More videos coming soon :)
Like it..I'll give it a try
Nice music on your channel! Reminds me of '90s R&B. Just curious, are those current productions?
Great video ! wish I found this sooner lol !
Talk about Pro stuff!
another great video
Thanks Tony, I appreciate that. More coming soon.
que calidad de video muchas felicidades sigue creciendo saludos desde colombia
Muchos gracias Kamilo!
Great stuff Arty, Thank you so much!
My pleasure! Glad it's helping. 👍
@@SkyeLabMusicGroup I'm at a place right trying to learn to connect my hardware w/Logic and use it like a plug-in especially for mastering. I'm also super confused about a patchbay too lol
@@melodyman1662 Patchbays are simple, unless you're wiring it up yourself. We used 20,000 feet of cable wiring our studio 20 years ago, because EVERYTHING first went into the patchbay. In a nutshell, everything first gets routed to the patchbay, and "normalled" to it's usual destination, where it will go when there is no patch cable inserted. When you want the signal to go somewhere else, you use the patch cables to take from here and make it go there. Hope that helps. :) Arty
@@SkyeLabMusicGroup Thank you so much Arty for responded. I want to purchase the Manly Vari Mu Mastering version and want to use it for tracking when I want and Mastering. So I know I have to rewire the chain using a patchbay, I think..lol...I know it's gonna be a trial and error thing. Wish you still had your studio in the city so I could physically see what you are saying.
Yes! :) Good !
a lot of music content check me out
I love this vid… SO MUCH!
Any chance we could get the settings/patches or even channel strips?!
Would love to check what you’ve got going on in the “details” part of the Chromaverb for example.
Let us know!
Thanks 🙏
Absolutely pristine. Thanks from Boston..! My Focal monitors and sound treated space are loving your mix! Just Subscribed!
Welcome aboard! Love Boston, but I got a problem with your baseball team! LOL. (Yankees!!!!!!!)
@@SkyeLabMusicGroup I didn't want to go there! Shots fired! Haha 😂 thanks again for the great content!

love from Bangladesh🇧🇩
Love from NY to Bangladesh! Welcome Zulkar! 🍺 Cheers!
This is useful
You are the best ever
Really good 👍 now I must check out more
Thanks! Nice song on your channel. I'd blend that guitar into the mix a little more though. Another reverb to match the ambience of the band, so the guitar sits in the track better, , and I'd cut a little high end to bring it further back in the mix, and I'd compress a little more. Just my 2 cents :)
SkyeLab Music Group wow thanks for the feedback but which song?
My man’s voice makes me feel like I’m learning on a street corner in a deleted scene the “The Departed.” 😂
Approved by GFly9 great presentation
Thanks, I appreciate the comment. More videos coming soon, so stay tuned. 👍
