That "classic bjj" turnover you mentioned has been in judo for the 40 years I've been on the mats, and probably another 40-50yrs on top of that. Also, Kim's kesa on Saito? - he threw him with the grips he had. If you randori enough, you ll learn that it is better to hold the opponent with "imperfect" grips until he forces you to change, rather than try to adjust unnessarily and lose him altogether.
TBH, Tsunoda's "guard pulls" (cause that is what they are, those are not honest attempts at sumi or tomoe) should be shido every time. Personally I would welcome a more BJJ-like ruleset for various reasons. But whatever the rules are, please enforce them consistently. Unfortunately that is often not being done with the current Judo rules (saw a fully locked sankaku jime being stood up last weekend, SMH)
Yes as someone who does bjj her "sacrifice throws" are literally just guard pulling. If the rules allow it then fine but even in jiujitsu it has a bit of a bad reputation.
@@ollywhelan5377 Sacrifice can be a lot more than just guard pulling, and in competitive Judo they usually are. There has to be some noticable kuzushi etc. Look at Maruyama's yoko tomoe nage for example, which is an amazing throw and in no way just a guard pull.
@@bjarneschmalbach1524 I know that the throws are a thing too but she doesn't look like she's even attempting it in a couple of the highlights. She falls square with her opponent on a few, as if just pulling guard
Thank you for your work! Regarding the lacking attention for Newaza Videos, maybe add to the Titel „Judo ground work“ or something instead of just Newaza so non Judo People can find it more easily
Christmas come early. Love newaza transitions. Krpalek is my favourite.
More Christmas presents coming
Newaza videos are my favorite! Keep them coming, please!
Great vidéo bro . Newaza is a solid option in comp theses days . Thanks for upload this
Don’t forget that Murao held Saito down. I don’t think he has developed his newaza much due to his weight allowing him to dominate normally.
I wish I were like you! I like your judo videos are the best, thank you for your effort 🥋
Tsunoda tem o melhor ne waza entre feminino e masculino. O domínio e agilidade dela são fora do comum.

I think she pulls guard until she gets a Shido. Such a great risk to reward ratio for testing the waters early on in a contest.

@@JudoHighlights2015 100%! I do the same because I enjoy ne waza, but the subjectivity in the rulings always gets to me...

Nice idea
Does judo increase height, weight and muscles??
I think well
Never sutemi waza on an opponent that's much bigger than you unless you want to get squashed! lol!
What judo gi should I get open to suggestions
Brand? Mizuno or Adidas
Get the most expensive one
It'll multiply your skill level
adidas j02
kusakura taishyo
mizuno 8a
Ipoon gear
Kusakura or Mizuno. I had an adidas gi a long time ago and it was trash, but I bet they’re up to par now
Are you going to do a video about champions league?
Yes
Never noticed before, but Saito’s hands are massive. His grips must be something else… 😅
I’ve done judo with him. It’s ridiculous
What is it like to do judo with someone twice your weight? Can't feel human I imagine @@JudoHighlights2015

Arrive early, will you say hello?
Hi!
the guys' names are so easy, your forgetfulness seems like racism 3:30
I live so far away from Brazil it’s not easy. French names are also really hard for me
