Speaking from someone that does paint their gunpla here and there, this is what I would recommend. 1. Get an airbrush if you can you will never look back after. The spray cans are cool and all but you will get more mile out of your paint with the air brush then the can any day. spray cans can be used for primer mind you as it's quicker then using the air brush from what I saw. 2. If you want to hack it a bit, the Tamiya paint will actually work really good with the air brush directly (even if it probably should be diluted). Don't use the citadel paint with is as it will glog it pretty bad. 3. for masking, head to a hardware store and get the green masking tape. If I remember correctly it's used to cover bases when painting walls. It also works great for masking gunpla as the paint under it will not get damage, as that is the point of the tape. The bonus local buying of equipment is always a plus. 4. You can do the same with the sanding, you can get the different types of sheets at your local. then you can simply cut then up and roll then around an objects (cut pipes/runners) and it will help sand easier. Plus this way it's easier to customize for what you need as some places can be hard to sand, especially with that large brick that you are using. 5. this one you already know... clips are great, get tones :) Special note on Air Brushing: make sure you where a mask and are in a good ventilated place... no joke there. Hope this helps, maybe it will maybe it will not as you may already know all this by now. Good luck on your future work I mean so far so good right :)
He probably should find a store that stocks Mr Hobby lacquers for an airbrush setup to be worthwhile. Tamiya paints are ok both in acrylic and lacquer range but colours such as white from Tamiya are not that good from personal experience as they don't stick to the surface.
Nyasan Creations totally agree with finding a store that stocks local paint. I only mentions tamiya because I know he has it and I know they work from personal experience. I think that I tried 3 different type of paint when I was airbrushing. Basically, to make my life easier, I found local substitute for the basic colors that you see often (white, blue, red, yellow and so on) and used tamiya still for odd ball ones ... as mixing is not as fun :)
(grandma) oh this is a cute little action figure girl . Where did the inspiration to make this come from ? (Artist)Cough..cough nosebleed. Well Grandma ,One doesn't need inspiration 😉 when a creation comes from his or her dreams
Let see here Green hair Red skin Have ling horn Yeah it's definitely from panty n stocking Where these demon girl name Skanty n kneesock I guess that's their name
Nothing! Wouldn't change a thing you did! It's a learning process that is unique to each builder and build. What works for me might work for you! I'm enjoying these customs from you and look forward to seeing more!
The plan I have with mine (.....if amazon will ever ship it) is that I would give it tan lines. Like it had been wearing some fancy one piece swimsuit to the beach, but she is now wearing the sports clothes.
Nice Fumina Hellgirl Hoshino! The control of Flat and gloss coating is really good. One thing i notice her eyebrows does not match her haircolor, you can handpaint those later on.
Good job with your paint. It looks really well done. Will you do a custom version of core Gundam and its planets systems? Also, can you use the Fumina hooded compatible with the Ayame figure?
If you do get an airbrush but still find yourself buying a can or two of spray paint (whether it be for convenience or color availability), there is a process called "decanting" where you take a can that ran out of propellant and use an old-fashioned can opener (the kind that's just a pointed lever) and you jimmy it around the top edge to open the can up and you can pour the last bit of paint left into a spare bottle. Then you can just use that in your airbrush later.
Maybe if you gave the hair a white dry brush to give highlights? Then combined with the shades and contrasts of the grey paint it will look really cool. Also I really liked how on some black parts had a different topcoat then the others, it really helped the overall look and made it look really premium
I started watching mecha gaikotsu since 2017, and I'm just very happy to see him grow a lot (from snapbuilds to customization) as it really inspired me to do my own custom
A hint to help stop paint covering your hands after spray painting would be medical gloves. I use them and after a session the gloves have several coatings of paint covering the fingers. Make sure they are the proper size. Good luck.
I think you should have made the wings red as well, as they're part of her anatomy. Or at least coated them flat. But otherwise, it looks good. Awesome job!
Thanks for failing for us! That way, we can learn from your mistakes. It's really cool to watch you learn how to paint because it could help others learn too.
Might be time to ditch the tiny spray cans and try an airbrush. I jumped straight in with airbrushing my MG freedom 2.0, that was just a straight paint with panel lining and details. Then I got a HG strike rouge for my kid and due to shipping delays I ended up with 2, so I repainted one as the standard strike. With that one I also experimented with panel line scribing (super scary and hard to freehand) but it turned out well.
You're exactly right about those spray cans running out super quickly. I used to get Bosny sprays, which are thrice the size of Tamiya sprays, and they STILL run out super quick (two HG or one MG at most). It's a reason I transitioned to airbrush quite early. You're improving quite a bit btw!
You did a good job making your first custom model kit. It’s understandable that it can be complicated when it comes to customizing a model kit. I should know since I’ve been customizing models for 5-7 years. My first model turned out to be good, I made it based on wing zero custom and named it Wing Guardian Zero. I’ve made 3-5 custom model kits through out the years. thanks to the knowledge I learned I rebuilt my first model kit and made it even better. I won’t tell you anything else about my other model kits, The only thing you need to know is I designed my first custom kit thanks to the following models: wing zero custom, wing zero flame, Try burning Gundam, and and phoenix reborn. What makes this re-Carnation of my first model better is that it can transform Just like its predecessor in the gundam wing series. Regardless I’m positive you will get The hang of customizing model kits. Best advice I can give you is use a paintbrush for special detailing you like to make to certain parts of your custom model. I sometimes like to use silver paint as a primer coat. Because whether you paint over the silver paint or not it will give your model a nice chrome look.
I know they're expensive but use more Citadel paints, you'll need to repeatedly apply them as well (in my experience) but the patience makes the results worth it.
I once saw a sheet of inmon waterslides on sale at the amiami radio kaikan store. I was wondering why they existed, but they might go well with your custom.
Wow, she turned out terrific! I'm also the kind of person who looks at a WIP and goes "wow, this is terrible and should belong in the burnable garbage bin", but maybe I should stop if all my final works looked like yours!
Really loving the direction the channel is going in. Maybe we could see some Warhammer again but from the painting/customizing perspective? I've always wanted to get into it, but the mandatory detailing has always bee a barrier of entry.
There is no right or wrong way with GunPla. Just do whatever you want & buy whatever you want. Overall, this came out really nice! You've even managed to hide the parts you didn't do quite as well as you would've wanted like how you somehow melted the ankle and kept it hidden with the chain.
Your custom build reminds me more like Zero Two from darling in the Franxx. That show is still one of the best show’s that I’ve seen since kill la kill In my opinion.
If you're getting patchy spots or rough spots when painting Feel the surface after every coat. Buff the rough spots with a 3000 buffing pad like 3m trizact. Then spray the 2nd layer. Repeat until u get the shade u want
Might want to try it on something else, but I remember seeing something about waifu modelers laying a gloss coat over the eyes. Might be able to do it with Citadel 'Ardcoat if you've also got that laying around : V
I would have done the wings the same way as you did with the horns to make it removable, allowing you to put on her jacket BTW, when the notification popped up I thought it was a new figure, didn't expect to be Fumina lol
For that one dude who was like "is that a panty stocking reference" in the post before this came out
Congratulations
Welcome to hell, we got hot devil girls.....
Me: What about the old fumina?
Demon: We sent that thing to heaven it was too scary for hell.
Oh and me
And the other kings.
God:yeah not true we actully sent that demonic thing into limbo
Sent those nightmares to the abyss, tortured by the abyss gundam for eternity
Um ain't fumina like a minor?

Citadel Paints are water based. You just gotta thin 'em down and they work just fine.
Got an airbrush too. Can vouch for having one. You get much more out of airbrushing than spray cans. And a lot less paint wasted per spray.
He probably should find a store that stocks Mr Hobby lacquers for an airbrush setup to be worthwhile. Tamiya paints are ok both in acrylic and lacquer range but colours such as white from Tamiya are not that good from personal experience as they don't stick to the surface.

Don’t airbrush Tamiya paint without thinning. Giving that advice is setting people up for failure.
That moment Fumina become a succubus.....*cough*....*cough*....
(grandma) oh this is a cute little action figure girl . Where did the inspiration to make this come from ? (Artist)Cough..cough nosebleed. Well Grandma ,One doesn't need inspiration 😉 when a creation comes from his or her dreams
What's fuminas age cause I thought it was early high school middle school age. So a minor
@@JohnHeathbar probably 16 or 17 and yes definitely a minor
Remind me of that one chick from panty n stocking
Well um guess i should have watch the whole video.
Let see here
Green hair
Red skin
Have ling horn
Yeah it's definitely from panty n stocking
Where these demon girl name
Skanty n kneesock
I guess that's their name
6:05 This is why you should either hand-brush paint
or you should order a special sprayer that you pour paint into and it sprays.
... so an airbrush
@@daggerfly0087 yeah that.
Nothing! Wouldn't change a thing you did! It's a learning process that is unique to each builder and build. What works for me might work for you! I'm enjoying these customs from you and look forward to seeing more!
Shame no tail. Still awesome though.
The plan I have with mine (.....if amazon will ever ship it) is that I would give it tan lines. Like it had been wearing some fancy one piece swimsuit to the beach, but she is now wearing the sports clothes.
A Devil Girl Fumina, huh? Why not called her “Succubus”? :3
Because Gyanko is thicc enough for a succubus
The color choice for this custom is really spot on. Especially the combination of gloss and matt black
Nice Fumina Hellgirl Hoshino! The control of Flat and gloss coating is really good. One thing i notice her eyebrows does not match her haircolor, you can handpaint those later on.
Hi Mecha, can you make a top 10 gunpla with those VIGOROUS effect parts?
Man this looks amazing. Makes me want to try it myself.
Good job with your paint. It looks really well done. Will you do a custom version of core Gundam and its planets systems? Also, can you use the Fumina hooded compatible with the Ayame figure?
Demons sometimes have a knack of genuinely falling in love with someone. Fumina is no exception.
Sekai must be scared lol

Looks pretty good, I particularly like the "embarrassed" look just looks like she has her mouth closed but it works.
Maybe if you gave the hair a white dry brush to give highlights? Then combined with the shades and contrasts of the grey paint it will look really cool. Also I really liked how on some black parts had a different topcoat then the others, it really helped the overall look and made it look really premium
I like how it's all the old Fumina kits that you called Satanic but the one you actually made into a devil was the new good one.
Good luck.
There's so much Games Workshop on that model that it wouldn't surprise me she would speak with a thick British accent
Oh great. Instead of regular waifubait, mecha-gaikotsu made it into devil-girl waifubait.
High School DXD anyone?
Good sir I go to the church of scanty and knee socks.
Highschool dxd got nothing on Panty and stockings
Return of the Devil
Happy to see you improving with every custom you finish!
I think you should have made the wings red as well, as they're part of her anatomy. Or at least coated them flat. But otherwise, it looks good. Awesome job!
Saw those horns and I was like "GW SKULL KIT STRIKES AGAIN!"
Love the custom
You're getting better, this looks pretty decent.
not once have I ever expected a demon girl fumina. absolutely shooketh.
I love the mix of matt and shiney top coat on her top, you did well there mate.
Again you completely destroy my massive ego with this being only your third custom. In all seriousness great job
OK, I'll admit, I genuinely laughed through this entire thing. This is incredible. Beautiful. Perfection.
Thanks for failing for us! That way, we can learn from your mistakes. It's really cool to watch you learn how to paint because it could help others learn too.

Great custom Mecha! Love the way the black turned out.
You're exactly right about those spray cans running out super quickly. I used to get Bosny sprays, which are thrice the size of Tamiya sprays, and they STILL run out super quick (two HG or one MG at most). It's a reason I transitioned to airbrush quite early.

Now thats a Nice Devil Fumina
this is pretty cool, pretty cool indeed
There's only one thing from GW that can be called *truly* essential. God bless the Skull Box.
I think it's a very good effort. Time to get an airbrush and some Vallejo Mecha paints!
Nice seeing you do some paint jobs n stuff!
Looks like one of Matt Patel's Demon Hipster Chicks from Scott Pilgrim
Devil goth Fumina
Not bad. I guess she's finally ready for that jar...
I was hoping that you'd customize tje Super Fumina, but this custom right here... Gundarium!!!
I some what expected this nice custom can’t wait til you revisit your dantelion gundam custom
Absolute nice custom mecha!
Halloween is straight up tomorrow
Looks rad, man. Nice work.
This is pretty amazing

The devil rises!
Looking good! I need to get back to painting some kits
This video sounds like there should be a minecraft speedbuild from goodtimeswithscar
Nice job on the custom!
Nice job. Its always a learnings curve. You might want to invest in an airbrush kit tho
It's probably best to file/sand the wings to the back so it looks good or something.
And also cement those horns so there are no gaps.
I once saw a sheet of inmon waterslides on sale at the amiami radio kaikan store. I was wondering why they existed, but they might go well with your custom.

@xxnike629xx The only wrong way with GunPla is having *0* plans of actually building them 😇
why does this look so awesome
The Matte and Gloss seperation is 👌❤️
Your custom build reminds me more like Zero Two from darling in the Franxx. That show is still one of the best show’s that I’ve seen since kill la kill In my opinion.
Hot demon girls. Oh dear me that is interesting. But it is really nice.
Amazing, now have to watch your other custom videos
Oh no wonder looks so familiar, it's Hellboy fam, Hellgirl 😈
Mecha my guy! Just wash the parts in warm water with dish soap - thats whats stopping the paint from sticking to it ❤
Every neon paint is like that my guy.
I actually hope for some super saiyan gundam girls for haloween but this is much better
You seem to be getting into warhammer, excellent
If you're getting patchy spots or rough spots when painting
Feel the surface after every coat. Buff the rough spots with a 3000 buffing pad like 3m trizact. Then spray the 2nd layer. Repeat until u get the shade u want
Nicely done.
Ok that's a good Halloween custom gunpla
Yesterday you said your doing to paint the face ,I thought your talking about the eyes but I didn't think it was a costom paint . Hahahaha 🤣
Damn loving these custom vids
Loved it! Good video.
Christmas build next :)
Hey man great review. You gotta try the trumpeter bumblebee smart kit it looks and feels very very solid and it has very great articulation
Rather than masking tape, you might want to try painters tape, which is available in hardware stores.
Its perfect you really doing well
looks awesome!
I would paint the inside of the wings to a red or purple and change the skin color to be a bit darker
Looks great
THE RETURN OF SATAN FUMINA
Welcum to my JAR... Fumina-Chan hahaha
I had this idea of getting the diver ayame and making her into a kaiju girl a long time ago, but have no idea how to go about that
Might want to try it on something else, but I remember seeing something about waifu modelers laying a gloss coat over the eyes. Might be able to do it with Citadel 'Ardcoat if you've also got that laying around : V
Nice work!
If you ever make an angel version you can use the wing gundam customs wings so she looks like she has angel wings
Dude, I'm waiting for your HGAC Heavyarms review.
This gona look good beside hellboy I believe.
you should be hired for kit designs
This kit is the one that deserves it the least
I would have done the wings the same way as you did with the horns to make it removable, allowing you to put on her jacket
BTW, when the notification popped up I thought it was a new figure, didn't expect to be Fumina lol
The cute Satan Fumina
I’m definitely doing this to my figure
so much war hammer stuff, looks good
also you should get a airbrush
You should totally review an airbrush system.
