I just finished making these greens, left out the vinegar wasn't my choice didn't have any lol. They turned out so good. Thank u always for sharing delicious recipes ❤
Excellent!! I really like how you got straight to the point of how to cook them greens. That was the best and simplest collard greens recipe I have seen. Thank you!!
Excellent! If you don't want the meat another delicious way to make them is to just fry chopped onions in olive oil first-- it really brings out the flavor of the onion. Then add the water and broth (vegetable or chicken). I love that you rinsed the greens with vinegar-- there are so many pesticides and so much junk on our greens!!! Also it's faster without the meat... it's like 10 minutes... any more than that and you are going to lose a lot of the vitamins and minerals the more you cook the greens... the brighter they are the more nutrients!
I want to thank you. I have tried to master the collard green recepi. Your recepi was easy to follow, and the taste is amazing. Thank you! Yiu are the best.🤗
This year it was my turn to host the Big Thanksgiving Dinner and this video as well as a few of her other videos saved the day!! Super easy recipes to follow!!!!
Very good thank you for not talking wlot of bullshit before you start cooking you went straight to this wonderful receipe as you explained the amount of Seasoning an why your great keep it up an God bless you an your loved ones
Hey there hunny! You're welcome, lol! We keep it simple over here and straight to the point of deliciousness! I appreciate you dearly for watching ! God BLESS! ❤🙏
I absolutely cracked up that you said “all this work for 2 1/2 spoons of greens“. My mama was Mexican American. The first time someone gave her greens to cook she thought it was way too much for the family of three. They gave her two brown grocery bags full. She thought she was going to be cooking greens for days. She only used a few handfuls. Boy was my daddy disappointed, lol. Next time around she finished off both bags and fed the three of us. To quote a line from Seinfeld, “shrinkage”. But dang, so tasty!
LOL RIGHT!! It will definitely make you feel crazy in the beginning like it's too much, just to be done in one bowl at the end lol. Thank you for sharing that with me and i appreciate you for watching. This is one of my older recipes but i do have the updated version here if you'd like to try! I appreciate you! ruclips.net/video/dZWQs0bO-X4/видео.htmlsi=dRWvGgoBfveaCl_5
just made this, I didn't have smoked turkey necks so I subed in smoked sausage and a bit of liquid smoke. oh boy did they came out fantastic! thank you, I'll definitely be making them for my next family dinner.
Enjoy this your video. I had collard greens this past summer, and WOW, were hey good! So I want to try making it. What other protein can be used … leftover ham? I read in the comments below, someone used sausage. How about chicken?
I appreciate you for watching Ms. Fay! I would highly recommend using smoked meats such as smoked turkey wings, tails, or even a drumstick. Ham and some variation of pork is also a great option! I've never had or tried sausage or chicken with this type of green but I have done that with cabbage! Please enjoy the recipe!
Always make it this way with Cajun seasoning My great granny-in-law who was over a hundred years old when she died showed me the southern way to make real greens.
Yes ma’am! The water will over boil and cause a mess if the steam cannot escape over HI heat! It essentially depends on your pot, but my heavy duty Dutch oven has no ventilation which is why I only covered it halfway. I hope this answers your question and I appreciate you for watching!! ❤️
1 Bag can feed 4-6 people, 2 bags can feed 8-12, 3 can feed 16-20. I really depends on how many people you'd like to serve. Hope this information helps!
I looked for a video from you. Can you make a video for us? I’m sure I’m not the only one that would absolutely love to see exactly how to make, True Southern Collards… especially from someone that is a true Southerner. Happy holidays 💁🏽♀️
Datz Right! Get the rest of that leaf OFF the stems that are removed. No Waste. You are Awesome. Keep sharing!! 😊

You really can cook, I am really hungry, cant wait for my plate
I'm confused on the 1.5 cup of broth and water..is it 1.5 cup of each?
I think it’s either/or
That girl really can cook like a pro. 😊
Ma’am! These are SO good. Thank you for such a simple but flavorful recipe! Made these on Christmas for my family, and they tore ‘em up!

Was getting your notifications, but I am always connected to you family
Yesss to the chicken broth, water is ok but that broth makes a difference
Yesss you are so right! It definitely makes a big difference in flavor!
I remember in 1950's South AL my mother and her old maid sisters crumbling up their cornbread in the potlikker.
YES LAWD! That's some good eating right there. Thanks so much for watching!
It was very easy thank you 🙏🏾
How long do these take? Looks yummy!!
Wait you said 'Pot Liquor ' my mama used to say that all the time 🤣
Yessssss!!!!! Gotta have that pot liquor right!
I actually really love this veggie.
Greens looks delicious sis 😉👍🏾
Thanks hunny! I appreciate you for watching!
Mega shout out Family
Looks delicious 😋
Thank you 😋
Your food looks delicious 😋
Thank you 😋
Easy easy thank you
You’re welcome!
Always make it this way with Cajun seasoning
My great granny-in-law who was over a hundred years old when she died showed me the southern way to make real greens.
I’m happy to hear that you were able to share that moment with her! I appreciate you for watching and happy holidays!
Nnp
Lmaoooo I was just tryna find this video for thanksgiving 😭
Was there a reason for going from half covering the turkey necks to completely covering them?
Yes ma’am! The water will over boil and cause a mess if the steam cannot escape over HI heat! It essentially depends on your pot, but my heavy duty Dutch oven has no ventilation which is why I only covered it halfway. I hope this answers your question and I appreciate you for watching!! ❤️
Thanks for posting the recipe! Can't find turkey necks anywhere though :(
You're most certainly welcome! If the turkey necks are unavailable, then any other smoked meat will do!
How long were the turkey necks cooking?
40 minutes
Don't stick your hands down in there if you don't know what you doing...😂😂 you Betta tell em !!
Thank you
You’re most certainly welcome!
Is 1.5 cups of broth and water, 1/2 cups?
Yes. It’s 1 + another half cup
1/2 cup would be 0.5
So 1 and 1/2 cup of broth and water?
Yeah, this looks pretty good.😕🙂🤓🤠😎😏👍✌️👋👏💪🌾🍀🌿🍃🇺🇸
Exactly how much garlic powder ?
Literally a pinch, but I’d do no more than 1/2 to 1 Tsp of it. Too much could ruin it. Hope this helps.
Season to your taste!!! About a teaspoon
Instead of sugar I use a dollop of Molasses. Yum!
How many bags of greens do u recommend? I want to try this recipe
1 Bag can feed 4-6 people, 2 bags can feed 8-12, 3 can feed 16-20. I really depends on how many people you'd like to serve. Hope this information helps!
Two large bushels
Freaking yum!!!!
Thanks John!!!!
Where did you get your pot?
This is a lodge Dutch oven from Walmart!
Value City department store years ago
That girl can cook, and I'll bet she isn't single TOO.
I had way too much water in the pot but I followed it step by step..how can I fix it?😢
Remove the liquid, turn the heat back on and simmer them. Season to taste.
How many lbs of turkey necks?
No Pork
SOUTHERN style COLLARD greens does not have onions or chicken broth, THAT'S NOT SOUTHERN? I am from the HEART of the SOUTH.
Than how do they make them?
I looked for a video from you. Can you make a video for us? I’m sure I’m not the only one that would absolutely love to see exactly how to make, True Southern Collards… especially from someone that is a true Southerner. Happy holidays 💁🏽♀️
Just tried it,snap suplex they the truth lol
Is it ok to use red onion 🧅 that’s all I have on hand
Absolutely! Hope I wasn’t too late!
@@ThatGirlCanCook_ Aw no… it was so good!!!!!! Thank you so much
