- We talk a lot about the different cities and neighborhoods across North Alabama, but we've never actually mapped it out. In this video, that's exactly what we do. We map out Huntsville, Madison, Athens, Decatur, Owens Cross Roads, Meridianville, and all points in between.

ABOUT MOVING TO NORTH ALABAMA ON RUclips:
Moving to Huntsville, Alabama? Or maybe Madison, Athens, Decatur or anywhere in North Alabama? You're in luck! I've lived in Huntsville, Alabama my entire life and know the area like few others. There are definitely pros and cons to living in Huntsville, so I cover it all on this channel. You can trust me to fill you in on all of the things you need to know before making the big move to Huntsville, Alabama!
Whether you're moving to Huntsville next week, next month, or in 5 years, I'll be glad to help you through the process. I absolutely LOVE hearing my phone ring or getting a text/email notification from someone wanting more details about Huntsville, AL. That's when the fun begins!
The map was excellent, Tim.
Hey Tim. I’d love to ride along on one of your tours someday. People have mentioned I should do food tours etc., And even tho I look at maps and drive the area everyday. (I literally go out of my way just to see what’s popping up snd what’s happening around town😅).
I VERY much enjoyed this video. And now I know why I keep mistaking new market snd Meridianville. They’re RIGHT besides each other. Yet when I drive I think I’m going East rather than north east 😅
Hey Ricky I've lived here my whole life and never realized the direction some of the areas are in LOL. Do that food tour!
Can you do video on Florence AL
Hi Trina. Florence is an hour and a half away and not in our market. If you search RUclips you'll probably find videos from realtors in the area.
My family just visited Huntsville last week. We enjoyed our short stay as we were doing a tour at UAH.
Sorry I missed you!!
I can certainly attest to all the development around Triana and Madison, and also south Huntsville. Although I live in Cullman, I spend a lot of time in the Huntsville/Madison area. In fact, Huntsville very recently surpassed Birmingham as the largest city in Alabama. I heartily recommend this area to anyone thinking of moving here. Hey, maybe next time you could give a little detail about Cullman, 40 miles to the south of Huntsville. Thanks for the interesting video. No need to apologize for showing the map.
Hey Joe that's a great idea! We're opening a new office in Decatur, just north of Cullman, so I'll be over that way every week soon!
Have you heard anything about Huntsville annexing Meridianville ?
Hey Wiskey I have not, but I'll make some calls.
I watched your video with interest as a native Huntsvillian; I was disappointed that you make no mention of north Huntsville. Great things are beginning to take place there and I think the public should be made aware. New homes are being built around the Johnson Legacy Center, great recreation, new public library. The area around Lowe Mill (the real west Huntsville) is also changing drammatically for the betterment of the whole city. My point is....tell the whole story.
Hi John - that video is coming soon sir. Thanks for your comments.
@@movetohuntsville, I appreciate your reply.
What's the job market in Huntsville? I live in the Atlanta area and I work in the apartment maintenance industry. I would like to change careers and possibly have a career maybe as a park ranger or working at a national wildlife park.
Hi Russell. The job market here is booming, but I'm not sure there are opportunities as a park ranger. You'd need to search forest service jobs in alabama.
Doubt that 3 months after you loaded this video that you may see my comment but...we moved (purchased a new construction home $215k; 1500 square feet; in 2021) to Hazel Green, Alabama a year ago and as a Huntsville native...I'll be the 1st to say, that I never saw moving to Hazel Green (15-20 minutes from Huntsville) and yes sir it's booming (houses and businesses) out here. So excited that we got a Starbucks here in Hazel Green that just opened. SCORE!!!!! We need a hospital and hotels out here in Hazel Green for any developers that maybe interested!!!
how often does it snow or get below 60 degrees?
DN - it doesn't snow very often and in the winter months the temps do drop below 60 but rarely below freezing.
What is traffic like?
The city stats say average commute is 18 minutes, but of course that depends on location and proximity. The main routes in and out of town are busy at rush hour, but traffic doesn't stack up. It moves pretty swiftly. And you better move along with it ;o)
For rush hour you will probably need an extra 10 to 15 minutes depending were are you driving from but it’s nothing compared to a big city. Also people are super nice and the quality of life is excellent.
For reference, I used to live in Miami.
Are there income tax benefits to live in TN but work in Alabama?
IT could have a negative effect. If you earn income in one state while living in another, you should expect to file a tax return for the state where you are living (your “resident” state). You may also be required to file a state tax return where your employer is located or any state where you have a source of income.
How good is Huntsville High School?
Huntsville High School is a highly rated, public school that has 1,822 students in grades 9-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 19 to 1. According to state test scores, 65% of students are at least proficient in math and 67% in reading.
@@movetohuntsville Thanks.
How do you not even mention Mid-City?!
This video focuses more on the various cities and townships. Mid-City is a Madison development that has been mentioned in multiple videos on the channel.
