Hi just curious to know when you were connecting the battery charger to the terminals I didn’t see one connected on the negative one, any reason for that. 3:28
It’s not needed to connect the black clamp to the black terminal of a battery. It just need to connect to a metal part of the car so it’s grounded. Black = Ground Plus on an Audi a4, the battery is in the trunk. What I connected the charger to was a positive perch and a grounding perch that’s located under the front hood of the car. That would be a question to IE. I wouldn’t know. I’m going stage 2 tune in a few weeks but I’m just adding an IE intake, Intercooler, and downpipe. Not turbo upgrade.
Did IE recommend doing a TCU tune to complement the ECU tune you did? I’m getting mixed responses on this - a shop said I need a TCU tune on my 2015 A3 1.8T because it has a 6 speed DSG.
A stage1 is good for any car. You can feel the difference. As long as the car has been maintained well and you’re not trying to tune a car that’s been neglected.
@@TheFlexxGarage of course of course. She’s not broken she just eats oil a bit. Would that be a problem with the tune. Like would it increase that issue or will it stay relatively the same
You and me both. I have a 2016 Audi A3 Quattro 2.0T. I'm building myself a custom exhaust for it that is basically just a cat back straight pipe. I want a bit more power out of it to keep up with my friends, and I also like the burble tune. I still have 6 months on left on the warranty, but also don't want to wait that long to get it tuned, but also don't want my engine to blow up on a tune.
Engine isn't gonna blow up with a tune unless you get a custom aggressive tune that's not stable. Then you run the risk of reliability issues. My IE tune is stable and sold to the masses. I can't speak for A3 but the A4, stay away from the B8 prefacelift. Mine is a facelift B8.5.
@@TheFlexxGarage The previous owner of my 2011 S-Line got an engine swap from one with 80,000km, but they don’t know if it’s pre or post facelift, guess I’ll have to check the VIN or other markings somewhere on the engine to find out.

also they said that stage 1 without having to install any hardware modifications but they mention Stage 1 recommended hardware : -IE Cold Air Intake -IE Intercooler so ?? do I have to buy the recommended hardware for stage1 or its not that big difference?
No and depends. Cars from the factory are tuned for fuel efficiency, comfort, and other crap to “meet” regulations. The cars are not tuned for optimal power. That’s why just getting an aftermarket tune on cars usually unlocks a good chunk of power that the car was meant to handle. And a tune from a reputable company like IE will not cause damage. If it did, they would be outta business a long time ago instead of being praised by the Audi/VW community. Taking a car to a dyno shop to have them manually tune it, is the risky tunes cause it’s custom and they could be pushing the limits way too much. You need to find a reputable shop if you want a custom tune. Voiding warranty depends on the audi dealership servicing your car. You have to do your own research there cause every dealership does things differently. Usually they don’t wanna cover you for anything, if you have any aftermarket parts/tunes on your car. They are there to make sure your car runs and drives to factory standards.
So do you keep the flash tool inserted in the obd port? If you do, how would you be able to use the obd port to check for a engine light or something??
Hey flex thanks for providing an updated video to the IE stage 1 tune. I’m thinking about doing it in the future. Did you see a big hit in Fuel efficiency?
Sport mode doesn’t do anything with power. All it does is let the transmission shift at a higher RPM. The throttle lag is still there and the lack of power is still there.
since it's winter-ish now in my area....I might wait until spring (March) to do it. We will see. Maybe I will install all the necessary engine parts (intake, downpipe, etc..) during the winter and then stage 2 tune the car as soon as March hits.
@@TheFlexxGarage Great plan, we are excited to see it! Just make sure you don't install a downpipe unless you do a Stage 2 at the same time. Those need to run together or you can cause some issues. Intake and intercooler are not required for Stage 1, but can be installed with it just fine and help a lot. Glad to hear you're loving your IE Tune!
Barely any. I’ve never had problem with my car eating oil before or after my mods. Mine is 2015. Doesn’t have alot of issues like the prefacelift 2009-2012 A4.
Thanks for the reply, I just rebuilt my 2010 Q5 TFSI and after 2000km it started burning oil again and I am speechless! I will give it a last shot but do not know exactly what is the issue after I replaced almost everything that could cause the issue.
@@MustaafaAlazzawi Have you been using any additives, mine was burning about a quart every 300 miles and i used some lucas oil oil stabilizer and i havent seen it drop since
It’s doesn’t matter on engine mileage. It’s depends on how well the engine and parts have been maintained. Cause if you have a neglected engine, tuning it and adding more power is gonna reveal a lot of those issues you already had.
I’m thinking about getting this for my Audi A4 premium 2017. Does this apply to this car as well and how do I get this part did you leave a description because I cannot see it and do I get a discount promo code or something like that since you’re promoting this and they sent you one what do I have to do to do the same and promote it so I can do the same thing and they will get more followers what’s going on?
That’s a great question but I don’t think I have the answer. Literally, just go to IE’s contact page on their website and send them the question, they’ll let you know like within 48 hours. They are usually pretty quick and good with responses.
I just watched the video where you installed the two turbo mods on the Audi. I’m worndering if In this video do you still have those mods installed? By the way I just got a Audi A5 a few months ago and I’m ready to start doing some mods!!
I Never installed any turbo mods to my Audi. So not exactly sure what your referencing. As mentioned in this video, this tune is the first mod to my audi’s engine.
Yes, of course both are still on. The pedal tune will work independent from the IE tune. It will only enhance throttle even more than what the IE tune can do. The TCU tune...that..I'm not sure if the IE tune over wrote it. My transmission shifts are still the same since I did the TCU tune from Tornado Tuning. The IE tune I did primarily for more power and torque. Not really for throttle response or transmission shift improvements since I know I already have those covered by tornado tuning parts.
Yes, usually they can. It’s up to them if they wanna cover your or not. Best to contact the dealer and ask if warranty is still active if you have a tuned car and if you have a problem that’s unrelated to the tune.

Can this be done on a 2007 B7 A4 or is mine too old. Saw a comment about a 2008 A6 with no answers.
The website has some other tunes, just go look
Yes it can I’ve done it on my 08 b7 a4 brother
If I were to get this tune would there be a point on getting the T-Box as well?
Will this work if I install a bigger turbo? Or is a stage 2 tune recommended? Trying to figure out if this software is for a stock engines only
That would be a question to IE.
Not necessary on a stage 1 tune on my car. Why won’t you just message IE. They are quick to respond and tell you all the details.
@@TheFlexxGarage thanks for the suggestion! I didn’t consider that.
Just wondering if u did any prior mods to the car before the stage1 tune also would it damage anything if you don’t put 91/93 octaine in
My A4 mod videos on my playlist are in order for you to see what mods were done before.
I have a 2011 Audi a4, do you think a stage one would be good for it?
A stage1 is good for any car. You can feel the difference. As long as the car has been maintained well and you’re not trying to tune a car that’s been neglected.
@@TheFlexxGarage of course of course. She’s not broken she just eats oil a bit. Would that be a problem with the tune. Like would it increase that issue or will it stay relatively the same
@@Jerryturtl3if you’ve figured this out lmk!!!!!
So i tuned my car and im wondering if i can return it... been less than 30 days
Niiice!! Does IE make tune kits for the '17 Mercedes C-43
Audi/VW only as mentioned in video. Mercedes doesn’t have a ton of aftermarket support but there are a few tuners out there.
@@TheFlexxGarage got it!. thanks for replying.
Sounds great! Any discount code for IE?
sorry I dont. If you are on instagram...I suggest you give them a follow. They usually run specials and advertise on instagram.
Is there a way to check if my car is tuned up?
I’d love to know what this does to engine reliability, the major sore spot as far as I can tell with these engines
Facelift is 2013+. Your headlights and tail lights don’t look like mine.
@@TheFlexxGarage I mean I don’t know the year of the engine it got swapped in. Probably pre-facelift but I’m optimistic
So let me ask you this, if I get this and upgrade the performance on my a4, and I update my brothers a4 with the same?
Most tunes are locked down to 1 car’s vin number. I’m not sure how IE does their tunes. I think they made it shareable. You’d have to ask them.
please do stage 2 !!!. and can you make a video about the difference between stage 1 and stock from 0- 100kh ?
Also I don't understand which one should I buy the one cost 149.9$ or 449$ ???
also they said that stage 1 without having to install any hardware modifications but they mention Stage 1 recommended hardware :
-IE Cold Air Intake
-IE Intercooler
so ?? do I have to buy the recommended hardware for stage1 or its not that big difference?
Won't this put unexpected extra stress on your motor and cause damage?
Also, will this void your warranty?
Are u in comfort mode or dynamic
Will this work on a 2004 Audi A4 1.8t
So do you keep the flash tool inserted in the obd port? If you do, how would you be able to use the obd port to check for a engine light or something??
I clearly stated when the flash was complete that “now I can remove everything and go for a test drive”
Hey flex thanks for providing an updated video to the IE stage 1 tune. I’m thinking about doing it in the future. Did you see a big hit in Fuel efficiency?
None really. However, you will lose fuel efficiently from flooring the car more often. Lol. Well, that’s on you.
@@TheFlexxGarage hey Flexx, really appreciate the fast response. You are definitely making it easier to lean towards getting this Tune!
does this sacrifice reliability? I want to add more power but I'm a student and work so don't have a ton of time to mess with my audi
No. Not stage 1. It basically unlocks the power that Audi suppresses before the car leaves the factory. Still super reliable.
I got a 2014 A4 Non-S Line 6spd 2.0T TFSI, would this work for me lol, my gut is telling me yes but just askin
I wished I knew. You’re gonna need to check on IE’s website.
What if I just did no downpipe just catback and air Intake for stage two ?
Nope. Stage 2 requires the high flow downpipe.
Would this tune work on a 09 3.2 a4 or is there any other tuners for that engine
Don’t know. You need to look at the IE’s webstore and see if your car is something they support.
@@TheFlexxGarage Alr thanks
another question, ive been told from others that you can either have the tornado setup or IE stage tune but not both, that true?
I have a manual 2010 Audi A4 can I still use this flash tune or is it specific to each year?
Yes, you can. If your engine is a TSI/TFSI.
( Go on the website and select your car model/year. You should see the available options after ).
Question; are you switching to sport mode? (I'm looking for ways of boosting my A4 performance as well
Sport mode doesn’t do anything with power. All it does is let the transmission shift at a higher RPM. The throttle lag is still there and the lack of power is still there.
@@TheFlexxGarage Much appreciated. I have a 2012 A4 and been looking for ways to just make it fast. Anything else you recommend in addition to tuning?
So I can do this with my 2014 A4 without adding any hardware or anything extra?
You need the dongle, software and credits loaded for the specific tune. You need to contact IE if you have more questions.
When will you be moving up to stage 2 with a integrated engineer in tune???
since it's winter-ish now in my area....I might wait until spring (March) to do it.
Awsome video, i would like to know how much is your current oil consumption and it that would lead to more consumption?
@@MustaafaAlazzawi Have you been using any additives, mine was burning about a quart every 300 miles and i used some lucas oil oil stabilizer and i havent seen it drop since
Id like to know this too, but the replies are hidden
@@MustaafaAlazzawicheck oil springs. These 08-10 audis had way too small oil sptings for an euro 5 engine.
Do they do one of them for seat ibiza cars?
Ok so what can I do with an 03 A4 v6 ... can this be done on that engine?
i use to own an 03 with the 3.0L v6, not much you can do with that engine tune wise as its N/A. Only thing to do is exhaust and intake
Sell it and buy a turbo petrol quattro. Tuning N/A cars doesn't give big power and torque. For that you need a turbo.
Is it okay too tune if it has 100 000miles on the car?
It’s doesn’t matter on engine mileage. It’s depends on how well the engine and parts have been maintained. Cause if you have a neglected engine, tuning it and adding more power is gonna reveal a lot of those issues you already had.
Did you already had a cold air intake or just a stock intake when you stage your car?
Stock. But it’s usually recommended to have the aftermarket intake first.
@@TheFlexxGarage Oh, okay thanks :)
Nice mod! How many performance tuning companies are you sponsored by?
only companies that i trust their products.
Can't find mod for 2008 audi A6 quattro s line help me out.
What’s the gas mileage like with the tune? I already can’t afford premium😅
Don’t know cause once I tuned the car, I drive more spirited and burn more gas.
You can’t afford any of this bro.
Hey bro can I just put that tune on my car if it’s already tuned by someone else or do I have to get the one that’s in it removed first
That’s a great question but I don’t think I have the answer. Literally, just go to IE’s contact page on their website and send them the question, they’ll let you know like within 48 hours. They are usually pretty quick and good with responses.
was interested in getting the IE tune, was curious to know if you had any reliability problems since you installed? Thanks
No issues. That’s why I stuck with them and did a IE Stage 2 tune. And the car was perfect.
@@TheFlexxGarage I think he means the Transmission tune and the Pedal tune you installed
Yes the tornado tuning.
“2 DIY mods to make any Audi quicker”
Yes, of course both are still on. The pedal tune will work independent from the IE tune. It will only enhance throttle even more than what the IE tune can do. The TCU tune...that..I'm not sure if the IE tune over wrote it. My transmission shifts are still the same since I did the TCU tune from Tornado Tuning.
The IE tune I did primarily for more power and torque. Not really for throttle response or transmission shift improvements since I know I already have those covered by tornado tuning parts.
If you have a 2022 can the dealer tell if the tune was changed? Concerned about warranty. Can they tell if you tuned and changed it back?
Yes, usually they can. It’s up to them if they wanna cover your or not. Best to contact the dealer and ask if warranty is still active if you have a tuned car and if you have a problem that’s unrelated to the tune.
Is it really stock on the intake??? o.O also how much HP you have on the car with the stage on 😱😱
