@@TheFlexxGarage you’re a great man ❤
@TheFlexxGarage thank you! I just installed a IE intake in my A5 using your video. I only looked at the IE instructions once. Great step by step guide. Car sounds awesome!
Nice!!! Was it pretty much the same install on the A5?
Yeah. Same exact engine bay too. @@TheFlexxGarage
The videos just keep coming! Excited for more Audi content! 😁😁
Sheeeesh! I was just looking for an intake for my Audi but i did not know which one to get. Thank you without you i probably wouldn't be able to modify my Audi because I am a beginner when it comes to it. This sounds amazing and can't wait on what you do next!
I’m here to inspire and help.
@@TheFlexxGarage yes I appreciate it thank you 😀
Good thing I watched this i forgot to order this intake when I just bought the stage one tune and later on will go stage 2 so gonna order it now sounds really good
Nice. I’ll be doing an intercooler, downpipe, and stage 2 and then off to the dyno to see what my car puts down for power.
I don't have the diverter valve yet, but it still sounds so gooood on my A5 😭😭😭 can't believe it's my car! Just finished driving it around and everything too
Thank you for this video!!! After a lot of contemplation, I bought this intake and via your video I was able to install it by myself 😃
Loving the engine and turbo noises I hear now 💜
I used this intake on my B8 A5 S-line, excellent fit and finish. The sound difference is wild too.
Nice!!
Dope seeing you in my recommendations again. My deal with the 14 a4 fell through but I love seeing the car
Dang. That stinks. Used A4 is going up in prices right now along with every other car. If I left my A4 stock, it would sell for $4-$5,000 more than I bought it. Lol. However, I’m selling this car in a few months. One lucky person will score a great deal with a car they can roll up to a car meet or auto cross track on the same day.
Okay for my Uk guys looking at getting flutter you’ll need the Gfb dv+, turbo muffler delete, custom intake or cts intake and you have to tune the engine either with a custom tune or plug and play that’ll give you some nice gains in power and the sound that you’re looking for, hope this helps :) also this cost me around £400 so definitely worth it imo
You actually only just need the intake and DV+. A turbo muffler delete is not a must or a tune. The turbo flutter sound happens when you quickly get off the gas pedal (which closes the throttle body) and this forces the boost charged air backwards towards the turbo and that air gets chopped up by the turbo blades and that makes the flutter.
With a stock intake and diverter valve, the sound is hidden.
The sound is amplified cause of open air filter intake and DV+. It‘a okay to have the flutter but not all the time. And having the flutter while building boost while pushing down the gas pedal is bad. Cause forcing air into the turbo in the opposite way is not healthy for the turbo.
@@TheFlexxGarage oh yeah I agree 100% but in the Uk our engines are de tuned like crazy that’s why I suggested getting it tuned as well as the muffler delete, I personally don’t want the flutter but you can’t avoid it with a manual especially when spirited driving, great video btw nice too see you still reply to comments even on your old stuff. Subscribed.
I read every single comment. If you guys took the time to watch my video(s)...I will take the time to respond. FYI...Im jealous. Wish I had the manual. Gotta be so fun especially in a tuned A4.
@@TheFlexxGarage I have the A5 b8 and the manual is very fun audi boxes are some of the best but I’m looking for a short throw shifter in the near future, also have you upgraded the inter cooler at all these engines run mighty hot when you thrash on them a bit

Just installed this on my A4. Was so helpful
Nice!
Just fitted this to my car! Was more difficult then it looked In the video, but I was easy to put in overall. Pairing with with a stage 1 tune tomorrow on my B8 s line!
bro that BOV!!!! so good 😍
I have an intake for my Audi A4 b8 and I love the flutter much louder buts more fun to drive the car hearing it

Dude, I just got my intake . It's a bad out here today in jersey. So I can't wait to get it in. Thanks for your video 📹
Good video Mate! Clear and concise. Cheers!
Ughhh😍 those stutututu noises gonna make me act up😅
It’s a cool sound but it’s only happens when I quickly let off the gas. That’s not really how anyone drives. I gotta adjust the blow off valve so it’s less stustustu and more whooshing (air release sound).
@@TheFlexxGarage that flutter is just air not letting out, so slowing down the turbine.. and in the long run might wear on the turbo and in need of a replacement.. so an adjustment to the blow off valve might be good
How will (have) you adjust the blowoff?
@@cabanjosue good question..
Excellent as always flex 👍👍💪🏾
Out of curiosity what bov is it i tried looking for it through the comments and I couldn't find any information. Is it a forge bov? I was planning on buying a 034 motersport delete and the bov kit and I was just curious. I also noticed that you mentioned that you tuned the bov to get the stustustu rather then the pshhhh and I was curious as to how one would go about doing it
Your video on tuning was very helpful to me my cousin asked me to turn his Audi I didn't know how to he saw me do my BMW so I asked him to give me a week to figure out how to I found your video and that day I watched I was going to tell him to buy me that part you know the tune and I was going to do it for him before I had the chance to do that he got into a fight he won the fight the guy that he fought took his truck and totaled his Audi
Ummm….what the heck
Love your Audi videos!
Damnn that sounded so good
Love the videos ! I have the same Audi and so far I have bought the same diffuser, spoiler, and exhaust as well as debadging the car. I installed the k&n Intake. Want to do the diverter valve next that you did in your video. Hopefully your giveaway has Audi parts 🤩
Hey man, I have a b8 A4 with the k&n cold air intake, by any chance do you hear a whistle when accelerating?
@@juliancileli9629 That's very normal. Happens with most cold air intakes. The stock air box has a sort of resonator in it that suppresses the whistle, but the CAI does not have that
Sheeeeeesh, too clean with it
Stage 1 makes a huge difference
Great video man helps a lot
I've got a 2003 Passat with a stock 1.8t with a $20 eBay air filter cone that sounds exactly like this
U were right i am gonna like this vid
yup. And you'll like the upcoming Audi mods too. Will take about 2-3 weeks though.
Mine comes tmrw
Nice!
Gotta get one of these for my brother
Totally worth it!
@@TheFlexxGarage he has a passat that screams but the stuututtuutu is not there
Hmm. Not 100% sure if he will get the stutuutu. The A4 has the sound from the factory but it’s barely noticeable because Audi did a good job of muffling it. When an open filter intake is installed, it unleashes the sound. Not sure if the Passat is the same. I bet there’s a RUclips video on someone installing an intake on a Passat. Maybe that can tell you if you’ll get the sound or just a straight sucking intake sound. 🤷🏻♂️
@@TheFlexxGarage so is it okay to put a BOV and a Turbo Muffler Delete on a stock a4 b8.5? Or should I get an intake also cus I will later on…
Hey any recommendations on brands I can check out for a 2018 e400 coupe? I have bought practically everything DMP sells for my car but I am having trouble finding anything online. Both aesthetic and performance parts.
Can you hear the turbo stutter from the inside with the windows closed ?
Wwith windows closed, I can hear the intake sucking air and the turbo whistle while normal driving. It's not super loud but you can tell. When I get on the gas with spirited driving, then all hell breaks loose. Can hear everything!!! with the windows closed. This mod basically cranked up the volume of the intake and blow off valve.
@@TheFlexxGarage definitely doing this mod to my A4
I was always told open air filter makes the performance worse for my 15 S3, not sure about that but I was told it already has bad heat soak issues and getting an open filter makes it hotter
Yes and no. You can’t expect a lot from just an air intake/filter. They don’t really do much as a stand-alone mod. You might see some slight performance gains if it’s shield properly and the air filter isn’t restrictive. The IE intake kit is shielded and it isn’t restrictive and it’s aimed in the engine bay to get fresh air, not recirculated hot air under the hood.
Air intake kits are designed more for when you add charge pipes, bigger intercooler, etc… cause then, those parts of the car will help the air get cold regardless if the air coming into the air filter is warm. If you have an unshielded open filter, of course it will suck in hot engine air and reduce performance but not all air intake kits are the same.
my turbo doesnt flutter when im sitting still for some reason
The flutter comes from upgrading the blow off valve and turbo muffler delete. The intake install just enhances the sound (if the sound already is present).
Putting a cold air intake on a car with a stock diverter valve is not gonna give you a loud turbo flutter. You might get a little but not like mine since I upgrade my diverter valve to a blow off valve and I installed a turbo muffler delete.
could you jsht put an intake there without having to get a different air box
Car sounds awesome, will you be changing the exhaust system anymore?
no. exhaust is already done and legal.
@@TheFlexxGarage I couldn't even tell you had an aftermarket exhaust. Then again, mine has aftermarket CAT, Downpipe, and 3" straight pipe downpipe back
Hey your video is nice although you look fierce and all the hands flying around when you’re talking 😂👍🏻
it's youtube. That's my face and I'm comfortable talking with my hands. Not gonna start pretending to being all bubbly and fake. RUclips doesn't pay me enough to get acting lessons.
Sounds dope, I have a 09' A4. Currently have a stage 1 tune and centre res delete, will I get the turbo flutter with this kit without doing anything else? or do I need DV spacer and turbo muffler delete. Cheers
the intake alone will do it.
@@TheFlexxGarage Sweet as!. Also, did you need to modify your tune to get the car running properly with the intake or does the ECU just automatically compensate for the extra airflow? Cheers.
Don't really need to adjust the stock tune or stage 1 tune with the intake, blow off valve, or turbo muffler delete. However, once I install the intercooler and downpipe...I will need to run a stage 2 tune asap.
I did tune to stage 1 then installed this intake. It got sound pretty good but my car got slower. I asked IE and they said do vacuum/smoke test the intake. I don’t know how to do that. It just make sure all the fittings are tight? Should the clamps be super tight?
Yes
So, you're just installing it for the sound?
Your videos are interesting. Although, I'm very reluctant to make modification to my Audi.
I never said it was only for sound. You need to read up on aftermarket intakes (you can even go to IE’s product page on this intake for info).
Great sound is just a bonus. An intake will help the car breathe better and it’s definitely needed to support bigger mods (like I’ve done in my other video after this intake video). It’s usually the first mod to do before doing any future performance mods to a car.
WE HAVE THE EXACT SAME CAR THANK GOD
Do you still have your car? Looking to get this intake. Also how often do you clean/replace the filter? Thanks
My last video is me talking about why I sold it.
I never had to clean it but I barely drove it. You can check with IE on the cleaning frequency though.
just got an audi a4 ambition 2015 what are the best value mods you recommend that dont break the bank other than this intake
Go watch my “$10,000 mod list” video on my A4. I break down each mod and how much they cost.
How’s the stage 1 tune been after a couple months? What main differences did you notice
Fine. No issues. Feel more power and torque for sure. I’ll be going stage 2 in a few weeks.
@@TheFlexxGarage let me guess, waiting on the Intercooler? I’ve already got the IE downpipe, just waiting for the intercooler myself to go to stage 2
Hey cheers to ya from Colorado. I also have a 2014 A4 Sline 2.0 what do you recommend as the best performance upgrade I do have IE stage 1 and also IE intake. Whats next ??????
Upgrade intercooler, then high flow cat and downpipe along with stage II tune.
well im impressed :)
do you have any suggestions for the a4 with the 1.8t?
Do you thing it’s possible to add a different air scoop with this cold air intake really want to buy this one but I want to at the air scoop extender on it too just didn’t know if there was enough room you think? Or do I even really need a different air scoop?
bro does your car have a repro? or only the cold air intake?
can the turbo muffler delete or the blow off valve cause any problems?
No unless they are installed improperly or if it’s defective.
@@TheFlexxGarage thank you
My airbox has a wire connected to it at the bottom, any ideas on how to remove this?
What does it do?
Its a sensor. If you remove it, it may cause the check engine to come on or run rich/lean as it doesn't know how much air is coming through
did you replace your turbo or do you have a Ko3
How would you compare this C.A.I to Kohlefaser Luft-Technik Intake System? I'm looking into both for my 2011 A4
What height and depth and width k&n filter do I need for a Audi A4 b8 2.0L tdi saloon know 76mm gauge but can’t get one to fit in the filter box
Hey man, I was just wondering if you had like a slight whistle whenever you’d press on the throttle with the aftermarket air intake. I’ve heard mix reviews about it being the issue and how cold air intakes offer no extra power, is that true?
Yea. Slight whistle but I like it. Intakes alone rarely give more power but it will increase responsiveness and if I ever plan on building up the engine some more, then an intake is a must. It’s okay alone but works even better in combination with other mods. I’m going stage 2 so that means intercooler, downpipe, and new aggressive tune.
What that main connector called from the mass air flow sensor. Mines burned on the downpipe from the slack
Can you do some of these things for w205 please?
He did
Do you really need the sensor extantion cable? It looks like the stock cable is long enough.
Yes. Cause the air filter flexes/moves when you are hauling ass and the filter is sucking in air. No point in risking the oem cable snapping.
That sounds come just from putting the intake on?
Watch my previous A4 video for mods I’ve done leading up to this.
I’ve done the turbo muffler delete, the gab+ valve and intake and still get any flutter whatsoever?? 2010 b8 a5
That’s odd, hmmm
The gab I believe is made not to flutter but whoosh. You might need to switch to the forge DV that let's you customize the sound
Do i need a tune for this. And untuned will it make the turbo flutter?
No. Everything in the video is what was done.
Is this only for 2.0 petrol engines or can you put it on 2.0 tdi ? I have a 2012 a5 sline 2.0 tdi
Don’t know. You gotta look on IE’s website to see motors it will work.
The OEM is a cold air intake, and unless you will get a bigger turbo the only reason why you would install an aftermarket cold air intake would be for the look, or if the OEM is broken.
An OEM intake uses a paper filter and the plastic airbox absorbs and holds onto alot of heat. An aftermarket intake looks better, is more durable, sounds better, and performs better and is needed when the car gets more mods (doesn't need to be a larger turbo). And this is only 1 of my many mod videos for this car. This car is getting an intercooler, downpipe, and stage 2 tune...so yeah...an aftermarket intake is a must.
For te actual filter itself, how long do they last? would u need to buy a replacement here n there, or could u clean them?
It’s a cotton based performance filter. Should be able to clean and re-oil but they don’t recommend oiling it. performancebyie.com/products/ie-cold-air-intake-filter-vw-audi
Air intake + blow off? Or air intake only?
Turbo muffler delete and atmospheric diverted valve I think
i have a 2011 audi a4 2.0t, i installed this intake and every time i accelerate i hear a squealing whistling noise. is there any reason for that ? or is that normal ?
Shouldn’t be squealing but whistling noise is normal.
@@TheFlexxGarage well yeah but its a constant mix of both as long as im accelerating, any tips or suggestions as of what to possibly take a look at ?
Don’t know. Why won’t you contact IE and ask? They probably have seen every issue and have a solution cause it’s their product.
It’s most likely your diverter valve, look at my videos and watch the one about the GFB dv+, I have a sound clip from before where you can hear the squeal, see if yours sounds the same. Mine is from my mk6 gli but it’s the same 2.0t just mounted transversely. If it sounds the same I’d see if GFB (gofastbits) had a DV+ fr your car👍
If you watch my video the loudes squeal sound is a little after 43 seconds in, I’d listen to all of the “before” clip’s with my stock dv though so you can make sure
How would I know if I have a b8.5 I just got an Audi today don’t know how to tell I have an sline 2014
Look at your headlights. If the shape looks exactly like mine, then it’s a B8.5 and not B8.
They face lifted the b8 to an 8.5 in 2013 in the US.
You’ll know if you have an S-Line if the little chrome side emblem on the front fenders say S-line.
@@TheFlexxGarage thank you I’ll check tomorrow morning
Will the IE filter work witt other tunes as well, or only the IE tune?
It’s just a intake. It should work with any tune or oem tune. IE just recommends their intake to be used with their tune for optimal performance.
Does thia cause a check engine light
No. If it did, I would mention it in the video.
What’s the bov on your car and all the other parts? Thank you!
Go watch all my previous videos. It’s all there.
What turbo muffler delete and blow off valve did you install?
Both from tornado tuning. I did a whole video on it under my A4 mods video playlist.
Is your Audi the 2.0T or 3.0T ?
I have 2016 Audi A6 2.0T S line premium package and can’t find anything for it… ex. The front bumper I can’t find the Audi rs swap kit, cold air intake, like basically anything on google. Like it pops up when I search for it but only the 3.0T. Any chance you could help me out with this?
2.0T
Just search for the the A4 and A5 instead, it’s got the same engine
Can i get the stututu noise from just installing the cold air intake or do i need to modificate the turbo as well?
The cold air intake will add more sound but i also did a turbo muffler delete and a blow off valve (in another video).
My stututu is actually not crazy loud. The mic on my camera made it sound loud. You actually don’t want a loud stututu. That means there’s too much charged air flowing against the normal way the turbo spins. In the long run, that’s bad for the turbo.
A little stututu is fine but not a lot. Mine only happens when floor it and quickly get off the gas (close the throttle). The air hits the closed throttle and that air flows back to the turbo against the turbo fan blades. That “chopping” of the air by the fan blades is what makes the stututu.
@@TheFlexxGarage aaaa i see, thanks man, I was really curious about how does it work
Is that a 1.8 turbo petrol engine ? And did the intake alone make the turbo chirping sound?
I’m pretty sure his is a 2.0t and what made the turbo chirping noise was the turbo muffler delete and a blow off valve he showed it an another vid
If you change the stock air duct would that benefit in any way ?
No
@@TheFlexxGarage If you don't mind me asking but how much in totaly did it cost to mod this car? Prices will vary in the U.K but would be pretty cool to get an idea! Thanks again
Do you have an aftermarket blowoff valve for the flutter
He does
What did you used for the turbo flutter sound?
Watch my other video
hey flex I've got a ecs turbo muffler delete, gfb blow off valve and k and n cold air intake but its not making the sutututu sound when driving. would you know why?!
You don’t really want the stustustu. Cause that’s air going back to the turbo and the blades are chopping it up. That’s what makes the sound. My IE intake makes the car have some stustustu but it’s not crazy loud and only happens when I do it on purpose by flooring it and immediately getting off the accelerator. And I got rid of my blow off valve and went with the DV+ diverter valve instead. It recirculates the air and that’s better for maintaining boost pressure.
If i have an AUDI A4 B8 1.8 TFSI it will be compatible
You need to check on IE’s website or contact them.
@@TheFlexxGarage thanks i will contact them
@@Stefan-js5hq Did you get the info ?
would anyone know if this mod and the previous blow off would work on an 2012 A5 2.0 TDI Black edition?
Did you oil your new IE intake filter before the install?
No. IE filters don’t recommend oil like KN or others.
PRODUCT DETAILS
IE cone filters are specifically designed for high-flow and perfect fitment to the integrated velocity stack found on most IE cold air intake kits. This is a dry filter that can be oiled, however, we do not recommend air filter oiling on turbocharged or forced induction vehicles. The filter can be cleaned and re-used many times. If you find it difficult to clean your filter or find it severy stained, it may be time to replace the filter element. This is a direct replacement filter ready to keep your car on the road and performing at its best. Includes new filter clamp.
Installed mine and it sounds nothing like yours. I'm a little disappointed. Mines just sounds like a light whistle. It's like if u didn't close ur window all the way and u hear a light whistle sound.
to get that flutter you need to install a blow off valve, not just the intake.
Hmmmm ok
Just out of curiosity You're saying if I add a diverter spacer that whistling sound will go away and it'll just be the sound I'm hearing in this video?@@jeovannymunoz9510
@@dontaebutler2331To get that same turbo flutter as in the video you need an ECS Turbo Muffler Delete Pipe, and ECS Turbo Diverter Valve Spacer. Hes got the same ones installed in his A4 as well, thats why his turbo has that stututu
Where did you get your front splitter and side skirts from?
Info is in my 2 videos on those items. Go watch them.
Don’t you need a software tuning after installing aftermarket parts?
Haha. No. You can get away with an intake, charge pipe, and usually an intercooler without a software tune. The stock ecu can handle it and adjust for the extra air. Once you do a downpipe or larger/hybrid turbo, that’s when you need a software tune.
Did you do other things besides the intake to get that stututu sound or just the intake ? 😅
dude...did you even bother to watch the video? It's clearly in the beginning of this video. lol

No
Then how do you get the flutter?
Yo flex I installed the air intake on my car and i love how it sounds. I have a question tho when i floor the throttle, it sounds like the turbo is spooling up. Is that normal
