Skip to Hyper Tough - 6:19 Side Note - I was working on a video this week comparing auto parts stores and where to find the best deals on parts, I scrapped the video because this Walmart near me has a huge auto section and they beat out even Amazon on nearly every item. So Walmart takes the cake for the best price on auto parts and fluids. Just a tip if your looking to save some $$$.
idk man... hart, bauer, whatever budget line you put can think of i think is lacking. used black and decker for years they were good enough but none of them have the vast amount of options in their tool battery line. ryobi has that within their 18v system. it's why i went with them. i can weed eat, grind, drill, impact, saw, soldier, pressure wash and in some cases multiple ways off the same battery pack. bonus, they go on sale several times a year. i'll grant ya they're not top shelf but i don't need a pro tool to do some incredible stuff around the house. i don't think hart is quite there yet in terms of options. if you won't be doing a wide variety of stuff, yeah hart isn't a bad option. i've used the same wrench set for years now and no issues. i tend to put myself in some questionable positions. buying stuff that needs fixed or fixing something that's broken around the house. it's a fine set, nothing broke, nothing slipping yet. i would be all over a flex ratchet set of wrenches if ever released. they're proven to be ok in my book. on that topic i have the long 3/8 ratchet. it's not a bad tool honestly. the narrow 12v battery was the selling point, i was looking at the m12 line but that math to get into that line... kind of a steep price of admission. having said that, i used that thing bolting a motor back into a ranger, put the intake on, accessories, and valve cover. it done a fine job with battery to spare. it's not real stout but it's not for torque anyway. i was so impressed, i went out and got their 12v dremel and a spare battery. they've came a long way and i would argue they are a class above warrior.
I wised up to walmart when finishing jobs late at night and tools got compromised. The walmart tools were available and serviceable. That's how I got into their 12volt hyper tough tools to round out cheap options for cordless tools that I'll take on junk yard runs or just don't wanna mess up my more expensive tools. Also, they now have 3/8 stubby 2nd gen impact, cordless tire inflator, and angled die grinder. Each kit is under 60 with tax and you can upgrade the battery charger and battery if you choose to.
I am a 77 year old retired gimpy. My grandson has my 50+ year tool collection. I needed an inexpensive wrench to install a toilet lid. I got a hyper tough SAE set for cheap. It's not up to snuff with my other tools, but it did the job. I thinking serviceable is a good description. Having been poor 50 years ago I remember how having useable cheap tools when you're desperate means. Bravo wally world
I bought the Hyper Tough Mid Torque Impact Wrench and it surprised TH out of me! Broke free my crankshaft pulley with ease. Well worth the $80 bc the repair job I did would’ve cost over 1k at a mechanic.
@ keysauto Those USA made hyper tough pry bars are made by a company named Wilde tools who’ve been around forever. I own a few of those pry bars that you speak of and use them for auto repair and they hold up very well.
I bought a hyper tough extendable 3/8 ratchet approximately 15 years ago. Ive done maybe 50-60 full brake services for my cars. Its my go to, theyre not professional grade but you can get by as a diyor weekend warrior.
That 1st set of wrenches you showed at beginning of video, with the regular size wrenches and the stubby I bought 2 years ago because I needed a stubby 10mm. I figured I wouldn't really use the other ones, so cheap. But now my go to wrenches. My son even bought a set. Bought the hart impact driver last year. Used many times. Exceeded all my expectations
I've been using those hyper tough 12v tools very heavily over the past year. they're very solid and im looking forward to the newer 20v brushless stuff. really hard to beat some of those prices imo and quality has gotten so much better than it was.
@@dieseljunky3891 bout the same as any other 12v tool imo. the only bad thing is that the charger they come with sucks. it's worth spending the extra $15 on the proper charger dock.
Great i too haven't been in a Walmart probably 5 yrs. Didn't know hyper tough had stepped up their game. Gonna look at that impact wrench to keep in the car and that extended reach ratchet. If it gets stolen i won't cry about it. Thanks for the walk through
They have made in the USA pry bars and brand new mini pry bars. Also a gasket scrapper and scratch awl, and plastic ammo can style bins, all the funnels and catch pans etc. All made in the USA for a great price. I rock the Hyper Tough gems. They also just came out with their Hyper stack system which is pretty cool. I pretty much got everything they released for it so far, the roll carts both folding and the HD are awesome, and the 3 box stack. The boxes definitely are more flimsy then a pro brand setup, but also at a fraction of the price. If I break them screw it, Ill upgrade at that point. They are supposed to be coming out with drawer boxes and a rolling dolley for them along with a few more accessories at the end of next month. Gonna put some of the railing up in my garage too and use the hangers for tools and outdoor equipment.
Thanks for showing us what is available at Walmart in the way of tools as I had no idea it was this extensive and so handy for all us old guys on social security and watching our pennies. I liked and subbed~!
I am a mechanic by trade and normally use Milwaukee power tools because I used to repair equipment at a hardware where we sold Milwaukee. I bought a decent amount of Milwaukee before I left. I used it solely but seen the stubby 3/8 drive 12 hyper tough impact for stupid cheap. Decided to try it out just because it was cheap and why the heck not. It amazed the crap out of me! It had dang near the torque of one of my old 20V Brushed Milwaukee 3/8 drive, but with less volts and a stubby package. I was looking for a 20v 1/2 high torque impact so I will definitely give Hyper Tough a try when I have to break the bolts loose on my trucks knuckle to replace my wheel bearings. I love tools that perform, but go nuts when they are so cheap that you give them complete hell. That stupid little stubby HT will break lugs loose on my one ton toy hauler with no issues. That’s a win in my book for under $30. 😂😂😂
Milwaukee wins almost every time but there are close seconds like the Skill recip saw at half the price. Irritating to have many different brands of batteries however. Honestly Wally World tools are phenomenal for what they are and the price point.

Everything you said I don’t have a problem with but growing up using craftsman tools from the early 90s…the ones nowadays just aren’t as good and are more expensive. Ive had multiple ratchets break on me cause the teeth just will break off after a couple months of use
harbor freight is usually my go to for sockets ratchets wrenches etc, and i usually do ryobi for power tools at home depot. i might start looking into hyper tough though
I have a set of hyper tough files, I think they were a Hamilton. Good enough for homeowner usage. One Nicholson file without a handle that probably isn't a lot better would cost more than I paid for an entire set with handles.
I’m a machinist and use files everyday, and honestly when it comes to files if you use them properly and only hold them to the material on the cutting stroke almost all of them will work perfectly fine. It really comes down to people misusing them that the cheap ones will get ruined super quickly where the harder more expensive ones can stand up to the abuse of misuse. If you rub them back and forth on your material you are using it wrong and will break down the cutting edge.
I use the Hyper Tough extended ratchet on a regular basis as a bolt runner at the junk yard. I'll be sad if it gets lost or stolen, but I won't be heart broken. It works great for what it is and price. 100% would buy again

It’s funny to compare HF with WalMart because I am not so sure they are actually competing so much as providing several options to feed the same family of brands. The shocker is that it’s always the sale price at Walmart but HF trying to up their game and prices, Walmart wins unless you like to convenience of HF extended warranties and all.
If it's an emergency-I-need-this-tool-right-now type of thing, I'll run to walmart, but I never expect any of their stuff to last so I'm never disappointed when it inevitably breaks. 99% of the time I believe in the buy once, cry once philosophy of getting the best tool I can, like Proto, Williams, Klein, Channel Lock, etc. as then I don't have to worry if the tool is gonna make it to the end of the job or not.

You need to look up Torque Test Channel’s videos on the new gen Hyper Tough impact wrenches you are seeing there. The compact 1/2” beats the Dewalt. The High Torque is a beast. Way better than HF tools.

Craftsman is not worth it anymore. I’ll use the stuff but I don’t seek it out. Hard to beat HF and WallyWorld if you pay attention to what you are purchasing. The old days of walking into Sears with a handful of broken Crapsman tools to fetch new ones are over so?
Cheap tools are just that, been burned enough not to buy them again. Plus, I don't and won't shop at Walmart, haven't for over 15 years due to the way they treat employees!
If it’s made in the same Chinese factory, it’s the same tool. If it’s made in a Taiwanese factory, there are levels of quality, but it’s the same level of quality. Roughly: Dewalt, Craftsman = Hart, Hypertough = Icon, Pittsburgh, etcetera.

I’ll use the stuff but I don’t seek it out. Hard to beat HF and WallyWorld if you pay attention to what you are purchasing. The old days of walking into Sears with a handful of broken Crapsman tools to fetch new ones are over so?
I’ll buy tools at Walmart when they start selling Milwaukee lol
Cheap tools are just that, been burned enough not to buy them again. Plus, I don't and won't shop at Walmart, haven't for over 15 years due to the way they treat employees!
💯
My Walmart has all the tools locked 😢. Thieves ruined my shopping experience for tools at Walmart that’s why I go to harbor freight instead
I dont beleave anything at Walmart for lifetime warranty. End up in two years the idem is discounted there goes your lifetime
Mid torque beats Hercules
If it’s made in the same Chinese factory, it’s the same tool.
If it’s made in a Taiwanese factory, there are levels of quality, but it’s the same level of quality. Roughly: Dewalt, Craftsman = Hart, Hypertough = Icon, Pittsburgh, etcetera.
Their tools are actually descent! Just like anywhere else ya got to use your noggin! Some junk others not
Seems they are getting into the tool business big time now 😮
It’s just a matter of who is the cheapest to me 😮
TOSS SETS OF WALMART TOOLS IN EACH CAR FOR EMERGENCY
SCREW DRIVER SET MEDIUM OR LONG SCREW DRIVER + PHILIP
SET OF RATCHETED WRENCHES OR SOCKETS
VISE GRIP - MEDIUM OR LARGE
PLIER - MDIEUM OR LARGE
LOL
WHO FIXES THEIR CARS THESE DAYS, PEOPLE THESE DAYS ARE RICH
THEY JUST PACK A CREDIT CARD OR TWO
The metal shears 3 pack. Junk, in my experience.
When you have slave labor making your tools the cost to the consumer can be pretty low.
Hyper Tough battery tools are not that powerful….. the New Skill line is 10 times better for just a bit more in price on sale and way more powerful and excellent quality
Hypertough has cancer warnings on the products why is this..?
When like icon does start skipping sizes means I will not buy icon. Shame on them.
Comparing Walmart tools with harbor freight tools is like comparing China tools with China tools!
Please do yourself a favor don’t buy your tools from Walmart
They're all made from the same Asian slave labor
I’ve gotten tons of use from Wally World tools for around the house and the leave it in the car stuff.
Everything has its place.
@@bobbuilder-wo9tv same Chinese factories as home Depot
