This updated Aquaracer has a DLC case, a matte ceramic bezel, a lumed dial, an ETA movement, and a new adjustable clasp. I think it is a recipe for a great sport watch. What do you think? Do you like the subtle changes to the model? I'm coming around...

I looked at a bunch of watches and tried on a bunch including some other brands yesterday. Nothing was really pulling at me. Then I tried one of these on and I ended up getting it.
My reasons were many. One, I loved the feel of the watch. The way the rubber strap bends down from the sides of the watch makes it very comfortable. And the micro adjustments are great. Two, it is a great looking and unusual looking watch. Three, the lume is just so cool. I drove about 3 hours in the dark last night and could still look down and see the time. It was considerably dimmer than right after I had put a flashlight on it to charge the lume, but it lasted several hours. Fourth and final, I have no biases against TAG. I know a lot of people in the watch community don’t feel that way and that is fine. This is my third TAG and to this point they have all been great watches.
Mine arrived yesterday. Love it. The lume is amazing and I'll be wearing it on rotation with my Air-King.
Saw it on the internet, then at my local dealer - love at first sight - had to buy it.
Been looking to add to my collection for months now, looked at loads of different brands/styles none have really grabbed me straight away, I went to my ad today to try this and it's the first time I felt wow I have to have this, I pick it up Saturday 👌🏼
Just got it! It’s bad ass and I like it 😎. I tend to wear a lot of sporty black clothes so for me this really goes with my daily wear. When I first picked it up the weight surprised me in a good way. I look forward to enjoying this watch.
What I like about this watch is that it's different to most cut and past options available. The octagonal markers stand out as does the integrated cyclops at 6 (nicely done TAG) The dodecagon shaped bezel is a nice change from circular and works with the outer straight edges of the markers. The lume looks great as well. Even the rubber strap dares to be different although I'm not a fan of cut to length even if it does have plenty of adjustability but that would not be a deal breaker. Although the SMP300M has less micro adjust that bracelet does have the diver extension that nearly none of us use. I'll take a look at one at the AD next time I'm out and about.
My first decent watch was a Tag Heuer Kirium quartz ( yikes) with a beautiful blue dial that i wore for 15yrs as my only daily watch. Ever since then I've had a soft spot in my heart for Tag Heuer , have not bought one since the Kirium but AquaRacer is one that I would consider

I had the previous aquaracer (black dial on steel bracelet) and loved it.... until recently when the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300 titanium limited edition Ref. 844 tribute came out. It has a black dial and beige indices and looks stunning in person.
That was my grail watch after watching some reviews and videos. I still can't believe that I was able to secure one of the 844 pieces from the TAG Heuer boutique in Straßburg, France.
Tag Heuer is coming out with some nice innovative timepieces such as this all lumed model and really hit a home run with 844 tribute to their first dive watch.
A nice hybrid between the 844 and Timothy Dalton Night Diver. The slide bracelet adjust is a vast improvement as well

That watch is full of things I don't want on a watch, but all together it works. I agree, Richard at Saltzman's is a cool dude. I am going to see if I can borrow this watch for a bit as well. Great job with the video and intro as always.
Personally own one and I love it - you highlighted the great points of the watch and I actually like the integrated cyclops at 6:00. As you mentioned in closing, it is unlike anything else in my collection and fills a void. It's bold, fun, and badass overall.

Ahh now i see the appeal for Timothy Daltons Bond. My dad has had an Aquaracer as his only watch since 2006, great watches!
I Love Lume, and an Aquaracer with a lumed dial looks awesome! Personally, I'm not crazy about the octagonal markers. I have the previous generation and love the real-estate the batons have for the lume. Plus, I love the way the light reflects on the angular applied markers that holds in the lume.
One thing that would set this another level up, fully lumed bezel. Or at least up to the 15 or 20 minute marker.
Now that's the coolest looking Tag in a while

A great addition from Tag, I think they are trying to find their place in the Swiss watch industry by trying what others are not willing to do.

I really like the new aquaracers. Specially that green titanium one 😀 (any chance you could review that one as well?) I tried them all out 2 weeks ago when I was dropping my watch for service. Getting Seamaster vibes from these 😀

I really like the hands on this watch
I was looking for an old Heuer 1000 professionnal 42 mm or an old Tag Heuer 1000 professionnal 38mm quartz, both with full lume cuz I love the way they look. But it's very difficult to find one in a good shape :/ so I found this one. It's a completely different style but I kinda like it. I don't know if I'm going to buy it but I'm considering it :) the only downside is that I don't wabt to cut the rubber to make it fit to my small to medium wrist. If I do that, I might have some problems when I will be selling the watch to somebody else... so an option could be to save the bracelet and put a full black nato on it, that could look nice too 😊👌

I was watching a repair video the other day on an " antique " (1980s?) Omega. When he removed the movement, low and behold, there was a plastic holder. I really don't see a problem with a Teflon ring holding the movement in place. Shock absorbing? Non marring?

It is very different and that's not a bad thing. The markers are not my taste but the overall look is cool. I definitely would like to see it on a bracelet just to see if my feelings would change. Clasp is nice I feel Tag gets scrutinized and they make a good product.

I really like this but the 43.5mm size puts me off on paper. Bruce, can you tell me how does it fit on wrist? Does it wear smaller than the numbers suggest? Are there any watches it compares to size wise on wrist?
I really like the date window at the 6 with the cyclops but with a 6.5 inch wrist the 43 is too big and the 36 is too small. Where is the 39-40 size??? Then I am in!!!

Ive always liked the Aquaracers but why dont they make these new models in 40 or 41mm. It seems they always make the nicer versions in 43.

How about scratches on the buckle?
I'd probably put the name wording immediately above 'Automatic.' I agree that, aesthetically, 'Automatic' would be better removed, but Tag probably want to differentiate the Automatic versions from the Quartz versions. And if you're an owner of the Automatic version, you probably want that to.
Agree with the dial writing on any watch stating automatic and WR.You dont see a top fuel drag strip car with V8 supercharged 1000HP written all over it.You already know if you own it.
I love that Tag has gone back to round indices and making them octagonal is a point of difference. For me a diver should be nautically themed and circular indices fits that more for me, like the windows of a boat, or a helmet of a diver. The square or rectangular indices seems at odds with everything else, this has been why the Willard never works for me and I always prefer the MM2/300's.
I think nautical theme is nonsense sorry. It should be 100% about functionality

I love it! However...$3000 seems a bit stiff. If I'm spending that much I'm going to drop a tiny bit more and get a Tudor Black Bay ( black dial/ blue bezel) and get the waterproof guarantee. This is coming from a Deep Sea owner. Thanks for the presentation.

Not a fan of full lume dials just seems over the top. Outside of that nice looking watch. I know many people don't like cyclops date's, at 64 I like it. Cut to fit is soso to me, just wondering how good os the rubber strap? If offered on the bracelet I'd go that route. One can get a good quality of brand strap for a change up, or the OEM if reasonably priced.

Personally, my favorite watch in my collection is my Tag Heuer Aquaracer Wak2110. It feels robust, but dressy with a hint of tooly look. Love the balance of elegance and Rolly look of my model, but the recent aquaracer seems to be going way TOO tooly and aggressive and sacrifices the elegance of the previous models. To be fair, the watches look vibrant and playful, but it lacks class imo. I wish they bring a bit of elegance and versatility to the watch that the previous models seemed to have.
I like this watch. I want one. Might sell my Rolex and get this. This will be more fun, and is more my style. Rugged.

Yeah but it's a ridiculous price for a non in house movement right? It's just a modded eta isn't it? I mean, you can get a beautiful gorgeous Oris with a similar mvt, for half that price! Or even a calibre 400 for LESS. Almost a seamaster 300 for not much more.

This is a hard pass. The octagonal markers does seems to reduce legibility for some reason, at least it does for me. I did consider the white dial midsize Aquaracer at one point and would revisit that were it HEAVILY discounted.
The last version of this specific watch was quartz. I was close to purchasing that watch as a knockabout on the beach.
