I use this laptop . I change the ram for play gta 5 . Thanks for the video
Interesting
Interesting how you glued these thermal pads, could you provide more information on how to distribute them? I have the same machine and I am having temperature problems this summer.
The thermal pads don't help that much and might even act as an insulator the way i put them.
I put them on the vrms, the chips that distribute electricity since they are prone to overheating. They have r47 or 4r7 written on them, some are different. But that's basically it. Also some on the heatspreader to add thermal mass, basically delaying the moment when it overheats.
@@YoussGm Well there, maybe I'll copy that and see what happens. Tomorrow I will receive the thermal paste, if everything improves a little better do as you did to see if there are better results. Because now, around here, it is impossible to buy a better PC.
hello thanks for the info
That's great! I'd love to know the results you get, goodluck!
How are the results? Hope it went well!
We got the same model but you have amd and I have intel lol. I didn't know it has amd version, how did you get that? I tried to search on Gg, it didn't show any 320 model has an amd on it, all intel. Or your model is newer than mine? Mine is i5 8250U mx150 320-15ikb
No problem 👍, its an intel cpu but with amd dedicated graphics.
Model is 320-15 ikb, 81BT
I5-8250u with amd radeon TM 530 or something I don't remember
The last thing 81BT is the parts config.
You should try using phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer and performs in my experience works better than traditional pastes.
Thanks for the comment! For a cpu of this caliber, some regular thermal paste will do the job just fine. If i get a better performing computer i'll definitely look into using the honeywell ptm7950.
Good video. Did you add an additional 4GB of RAM, as mine has an empty DIMM socket but looks like it had 4GB soldered?
Thanks! Yes, i added a 4gb stick of ram one year ago.
It does in fact have 4gb soldered.
Thankyou for your quick response. One of my jobs for next week.@@YoussGm
@@YoussGm is addition of 4gb ram makes it speed ? or ssd need to convert
@@siddharthpatnaikodialive ram won't make the laptop faster, the ssd is what makes it load stuff faster.
@@YoussGm ohk thanks, but HDD to SDD costs more for this old model, if. i put a 4g and total of 8gb, can it be a bit faster for normal use, bcoz it hangs a lot ..
Is it possible to upgrade it's specs?(have the same unit)
You can't, only the ram and storage.
excuse me, can i upgrade the cpu and gpu for this type laptop?
Sadly no, the cpu and gpu are soldered on and it would require some specialized equipment, patience and the possibility to fail.
@@YoussGm Is there a motherboard that fits that laptop with a pga socket?
I don't think so. Considering the height constraints of the laptop, it wouldn't fit in the chassis.
If you really search for it though you might find some crazy dude in china that has a diy one in his basement or something.
Something you can do is just buy a motherboard with better specs from ebay and replace the old one.
Rubbing alcohol to clean the paste? Is that safe?
Yes it is safe! Just don't soak the whole motherboard in it and make sure to let it dry before applying new thermal paste.
Hello i use ram viper steel 8gb . Is it good for game ?
Yeah it looks good. But if you already have 4gb ram in the laptop, its better to get another 4gb ram stick so you can run in dual channel.
Running in dual channel gives a bit more performance but getting an 8gb stick should still be fine, especially if the games you play use a lot of ram.
@@YoussGm ok thanks . What ram you use now in your laptop
I have the 4gb ram already integrated from before. And i added 4gb ddr4 laptop ram from aliexpress, kllisre brand.
Make sure you get the same speed of ram that's in your laptop by checking task manager.
@@YoussGm ok . Did you play gta 5 ?
@@firam109 i have not. I do play valorant though and get 130fps on average, lowest settings.
So i assume you could get around 60fps or more on lowest settings gta5.
Why not ssd?
I didn't have an ssd on hand and didnt want to buy one.
It is a bit slow with an hdd but i don't currently need an ssd. I would however recommend getting one.
I want to ask, how do you overclock the RAM?
It's technically possible, but I DONT RECOMMEND IT!!! I tried to overclock it and bricked the laptop 2 times, so i needed to flash the bios manually again to fix it. It worked at 2249MT/s or something like that instead of the 2133 default but its unstable, after restarting the laptop it bricked.
To overclock it, you will need to unlock the advanced section of the bios menu. To do that you can use the Insyde H2O unlocker made for lenovo ideapad 300 series, find by googling.
In the bios then you have access to custom memory profiles.
Do not do this, minimal gain for very big risk.
@@YoussGm I upgraded the RAM to 8GB 2133mhz according to the max speed but why does it only read 1068mhz?
DDR stands for double data rate so some softwares, instead of showing 2133 show half of it as the speed so 1068 × 2. Task manager should show 2133 though.
What software shows 1068? Guessing it's cpu-Z, then yeah its normal.
@@YoussGm I use a single channel .8gb and on CPU it says real clock 1068 and max clock 2133mhz
