Thank you for the golden loop technique link you included in a reply to another’s comment. I appreciate that you are fussy.. I connect with your crochet techniques & would like to see more videos of your pattern how-tos. I find many videos to be horrid but like your style. Going off-screen was forgivable & appreciate your apology in doing so. I could still follow you. Please post more videos. Thanks again!

Thank you so very much for this great tutorial on the waffle stitch rectangular blanket. I've been wondering so long on how to start & do the corners. I hope to follow more of your work. Your camera aim, clear slow voice, no background music and clear instructions are the best . ❤❤ I am experiencing immediate memory loss so I have to keep backing up at the corners especially the joining corner. I am trying to memorize rather than read the pattern as I forget what I've read as soon as I turn my eyes away to my work. Just a bit worrisome on my part. Still I love to crochet and knit.

OMG! I love you. I do have instructions for the waffle stitch but they are for a square. For the rectangle, your instructions on
RUclips are so precise and concise. I can follow along with you and do the pattern at the same time. Yes, I too am a "fuss pot"; You do not speed along too quickly nor do you put in non essential quips which waste my time. I also downloaded your written instructions for the row by row, and inside-out square as well the rectangular.

I have always loved the waffle stitch, but was always SUPER annoyed with the curve of the stitch. Thank you for being fussy and showing me how to fix that! I can't wait to try this tonight.

I also did the same for the front recessed stitches and this technique fills it in nicely.

I wish I could like your video more than once. I love your instructions. Somebody already said, so precise and concise. The grids on the waffle are also more pronounced the way you do it. I am now making one for my brother supposedly for his birthday, which is past, so he might get it for Christmas. :-) Thank you so much for sharing. I love the video as a whole. Just wish I could see it more (centered on the screen, I mean) :-).

I use the 3rd loop in the majority of my crochet, esp when doing things like lace doilys where its super noticable if its slightly off to the side. IMO it makes any DC sts look far tidier 🙂

Hello, “SOSO”! I rnjoyed the way you teach, thank you, as I am fussy too 😊. Just one thing would be great- if you could rearrange your vid using the different entry of a dc into the top of a dc. Starting again later on was a bit confusing, please😍?. I did see a tutorial recently where the lady believed doing dc sts into the tow below like that makes them all stand up straight like soldiers above each other instead of being 1/2 drunk to one side toppling over! Does as you say make one be a little more careful with a pointy hook (I found where to get your fave zings locally where I am in Australia -YAY- even if its 3 yrs after you) posted! TTFN J

I believe it's the end of round 2 where you forgot to mention to add a double crochet to the chain 2 space of the corner before slip stitching to join. You can see that the video must have been edited and you missed that part. It was a tad confusing, but I figured it out.

Ashley, thank you for mentioning this. While watching the video for the first time, I wondered about that briefly, but the thought disappeared. This will be helpful to know. One of my granddaughters just requested a waffle stitch blanket for her graduation present and I wanted to learn how to make a "center out" version.

Very clear instructions, thank you. I'm curious why you go under the lower 3rd loop in your dc at time stamp 14:04. Thanks! I'm always looking to improve my skills.

Are the measurements for blanket sizes with over hang? I’m fairly new to crocheting and I fell in love with the waffle stitch. But I want to make sure I have the right amount of yarn for a twin size bed with over hang for my toddler. Thank you for any information you provide, I love your work.

    • @SwatchonSwatchoff

Yes they are! I don't know just how much overhang there is, though as I haven't made a full twin size one yet.
