- Went for a short 2D1N trip to Batam! 🇮🇩
Not sure where went wrong, but it seems that the start was from Golden Prawn 933/555. A grab driver told me that the food quality there has dropped since covid. But i was kinda stubborn and decided to still give it a try.
After the meal, my body felt kinda tired and i thought “oh well maybe it’s food coma?” So after resting for an hour at the hotel, i continued my food journey.
I ate sweet potato brûlée, thinking that it was cheese on top of it but it’s not! It was caramel and i don’t eat caramel. But i continued 🙃😂
The next day i ate sushi and the cooked salmon had a weird taste (and i continued eating). I guess my body couldn’t take it anymore and i eventually 🤮 out after the meal.
Went for a massage because i was super lethargic. Bought llao llao to eat my nauseous. Thought that i didn’t had a proper meal thus i was weak, i went to a cafe to get some food (fries + nuggest + orange juice). But nope, it made me feel even worst. At that point of time, i just can’t wait to be back in singapore.

Actually you go to the wrong places maybe next time when you want to travel with locals lifestyle in batam you can try to stay at Sovrano Hotel or Hotel i baloi this hotel located oposite of grand batam mall, very near with BCS Mall (Batam City Square), penuin wet market lot of nice chinese kopitiam in this market and beside also got A2 foodcourt that have lot of local chinese food all of this place its just walking distance ppl in this area do speak teochew and hokkien so its easy for you to communicate.
You can also try to stay at Redlink hotel this hotel very near with Batam Centre ferry terminal (which located beside Batam Megamall) lot of local chinese kopitiam in this area and also lot of indo local style warong that is local favorite as well from here you can take short grab ride to HU Foodcourt they hv awesome local chinese food and short grab ride to One Batam Mall psst massage salon etc in One Batam Mall much cheaper than other malls cos this mall is not discovered by singaporean yet

Hotel Blitz: ruko greenland opposite of this hotel have morning bakery and if you walk around the Morning Bakery there is lot of hipster cafe that batam youngster love to hang out, One batam mall just walking distance and around this hotel there are lot of convenience shop and lot of local food (this one also only local know) this hotel also very near with Batam centre ferry terminal (ferry terminal beside batam megamall)
Another one is Golden city at Bengkong many cafe around this area this area also have lot of local food and youngster love to hang out ard this area
