      Tall Hobbit Design! As soon as I got the Delica 4 in my hand and had time to study it, I was blown away with the consideration given to every single aspect of that knife. It was all downhill from there. Just bought silly numbers of Spydecos after that.

    Love watching Sal and Eric talk about there knives. The passion really bleeds through to any conversation. I didn't plan on being a Spyderco fanboy either; but I started noticing that a Spidey found its way into my pocket more often than not. The spydy hole is so damned practical with gloves.

    Man it never ceases to amaze me how passionate Eric and sal are about the knives they make and that along with there excellent designs and functioning tools are why spyderco is my favorite and most highly preferred brand of knife. Whenever somebody asks me what knife should they buy I always answer, you can't go wrong with a spyderco. They have something for everybody and none of its junk.

    I freaking love Spyderco products they make knifes to be used (working tools) I always have one on me ( 16 total in my collection and growing) I love that no matter what you are going to do that day they have a knife that will handle that job. (And living in New York that's saying something as or knife laws are very draconian). So thanks Sal & Eric for making products that have improved my daily life.)

      @JOSE E PEREZ Cool agree, Bro, I've been in love with syderco knives since 1980, I've got 45 or so, they are the best, as a use cutting tool, which you can rely on 100%. They are beautiful. but the 2nd place is cold steel they focus more on self defense, also I'm a fan of 1980, they are not beautiful, but! You can also rely 100% on this if your life is in danger..

      @@edcko10 I do have a Chaparral npw (Sun and Moon). Love the leaf-shaped blade and man does that thing cut. Since it is a little small, I'm looking at getting a Manix 2 next. I just still can't stand the bird-skull look on most of them and the leaf shape is much nicer.

    I bought a Ti-Military and sold it. To me, the screws (hardware) size chosen was wayyyy too miniature for a hard use-high end knife. The Military line should have way burlier screws in the handle!

    Spyderco does some nice experimenting with steels, but their prices for the materials used are way too high. Price increases this year are totally unjustified. Shaman is popular? Raise the price 22%. Look what you get for $240 from Spyderco vs. what $240 gets you from ZT. No contest.

    • @Evan_Schaefering
      @Evan_Schaefering 6 лет назад +1

      MrGeerbear Honestly anything in Spyderco's lineup that is more expensive than the Sage line usually isn't worth the price. The PM2 is pretty hard to beat at $130 or so though.

    • @MrGeerbear
      @MrGeerbear 6 лет назад

    • @Evan_Schaefering
      @Evan_Schaefering 6 лет назад

      I don't know if you would like it but there is a version of the Manix 2 in S110V with G10 scales with skeletonized steel liners for about $150 which basically fixes all the problems you have with the one you are looking at. Obviously it isn't in Maxamet but S110V is nothing to scoff at.

    Used to love Spyderco but they continually drive up the price and this most recent price increase took it too far. The value just isn't there for me anymore. It's funny to me Sal had the nerve to say, "it's not all about making money." I really like a lot of their knives; hopefully they make it back to reasonable prices.

    All the knives look the same, have boring design with that thumb hole
    and hump of the edge,less of the models are good are look different without
    that hump and with small hole.I can't rgue about the steel they use, it's perfect and
    they user different powder steels that are strong.

      Hi, Knife Nut: We've had extensive discussions on pricing since announcing changes last year. We actually didn't increase pricing on a majority of our products. We did implement a change in our MAP policy and that's where the price change is seen. We also removed several items from our MAP policy. The digital landscape is vast and it's just not feasible to hold these complex discussions on every platform but we would encourage you to visit our forum (on our website) and read through the discussions. We have a wealth of information available for anyone interested. We will always do business in a fair and proper way and we strive to be as transparent as possible. We hope to see you on our forum and we wish you all the best!

  • @knifenut6772

    • @dbpm876
      @dbpm876 6 лет назад +4

      If you cant afford it dont buy it. The whole point of a business is to make money..its not greed..and its not spydercos problem you cant afford a knife . Kershaw has knives for 19 bucks at walmart that might be more your speed.

    • @Mrsingingdude1
      @Mrsingingdude1 6 лет назад +3

      Yeah, I can't believe that a relatively small company like Spyderco can compete with larger high end knife companies but they have to raise their prices a little! That's just ridiculous! They should just take a loss in profits so you can have your knife for $15 less! How selfish of them!
