I discovered Metallica when I was 12 when a friend of my brother's brought the Ride The Lightning album. My brother hated it but Fade to Black hypnotized me and I've been a metal fan ever since. That was in 1985 so yeah, I'm that old.

I got into Rock and metal when I was in high school. I found Metallica when I was 18 or 19 and they have been my favorite band ever since. I'm now 42 years old. Damn I'm getting old. I absolutely love this song. Glad you are enjoying the Metallica journey. They have so many good songs. Rock on bro 🤘

    Love the channel.
I had already discovered metal but didn't discover Metallica until I was 14. It was their 3rd album (Master of Puppets) that I actually listened to first. The album kicks off with the song Battery. It has an acoustic, spanish guitar intro before the electric guitars kick in and layer in the harmony. At that point the song takes off into one of the most heavy, aggressive pieces of music you will ever hear. Even though I was into heavy music and liked rock (Black Sabbath, Kiss, Van halen, Iron Maiden ect), it really was like hearing music for the first time. The album also contains Orion, an instrumental piece that has a classical music section and is a true masterpiece.
Hearing Master of Puppets of course led me to investigate the band and I discovered their earlier work , Ride the Lightning (to this day my favorite Metallica album) and Kill em all. Their first 3 albums with the late, great Cliff Burton on bass guitar are all fantastic.

Loved what you said at the end there man. Better late than never. There’s so much good music in rock & metal. Just like with hip hop & rap, the stereotypes make people hesitant to listen. Good music is just good music. These guys are in their mid 50’s now & still playing sold out stadiums for all ages, races & religions in the crowd. Enjoy the journey 👍🏻 By the way, Tech N9ne & Kid Bookie got a verse in Corey Taylor’s (lead vocalist from Slipknot) new song that mixes rock & rap & is 💯🔥 it’s called “CMFT Must Be Stopped”

What I take from this song, is that you shouldn't be ashamed of the scars that life gives you. Be proud of still being alive, the scars are proof that you're way tougher then you think you are. Btw you have a great voice.

Dude, you're awesome! I hope you could do "To Live Is To Die" by Metallica. It's a beautiful song. It was their former bassist Cliff Burton's last song that he wrote before he was killed in a bus crash not long after Master of Puppets came out. They took his composition and completed it on their next album. It contains a phrase Cliff was fond of, part of which is on his tomb stone. It's really beautiful. I think you would appreciate it.
