The Tristar, my favourite aircraft of all time, only the A340-500 and concorde run it close, Flew on a British Airtours one to Malaga when it was brand new ( I think I was 4!) and a BA -200 to Bankok via Bahrain. Wow this video takes me back to being a kid sitting at airports in spain watching out the window! I remember a few holidays on air 2000 with the bright livery and there previous red and gold livery. Happy memories thanks for uploading!
How many airlines in this video are in service. Seems I could probably only count it on one hand, some goes for aircraft type. God how things have changed. Too sad
Things have changed due to Ryanair, Easyjet, Eurowings, Wizzair, Transavia and more recently Norwegian. 20 years ago Tenerife it was 90% charters - 10% schedule. No its the other way, with most being low cost carriers. Incredible video, Twenty minutes of European aviation history, phenomenal !!
Some of the British airlines have just changed name, either that or they've merged, for example, Britannia changed it's name to Thomson Airways, then Thomson and First Choice merged and became TUI, the same with Airtours, they changed their name to My Travel and then followed a merger with another airline to become Thomas Cook!
For me the plane I miss the most is the L1011 by far. It’s such a classic plane and it was ahead of it’s time in the early 70s “RIP L1011 you served us well”

I miss the MD-11
Well, we can still enjoy flight. Once I was able to fly in a jump seat from Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau, in a DC-3. That probably won't happen again.
I think the L-1011 is just the most beautifully-proportioned airframe; so nice to watch on landing.
The 757 is way more elegant. The L-1011 nose is way to short.
The Caledonian livery’s on the l1011s is just perfect
Seeing those L-1011's and Tupolevs is an absolute feast for a plane spotter, one which I sadly will never experience :/
Ever seen Airforce One?
